That's awesome you're on Wheel back when Vanna turn letters. The episode was aired 3 days before I turn 7. Vanna had laryngitis just 2 days before your episode airs. Both Dana and Mazie were sweet ladies. Cheers, Chris!
My key moments: 01:12 My introduction 02:40 I knew the answer, but I never got to spin 05:38 I finally got a turn, and the Wheel promptly screwed me hard 07:02 I knew the answer, and I had to stand there watching the greedy woman next to me keep spinning and spinning - it was infuriating 08:52 One of the conditions of being a contestant was that we were only supposed to show enthusiasm and excitement, but I was PISSED OFF!!! 09:01 MY BIG MOMENT - at least I got one puzzle. If you wonder why I didn't guess "H" at 10:45 or any time after that, it's because at that point I was so terrified that I was not going to win anything, that I wasn't thinking entirely clearly. That's also why I solved the puzzle as soon as I knew the answer. There was no way I was walking away from this show empty handed! 11:01 I turned to my mom and dad in the crowd with the happiest, most relieved smile I've ever given 17:37 As Pat congratulated me on my winnings, I said "Better than a kick in the teeth, Pat!" An old expression my grandma used to say :)
@@markheying2830 I think after taxes it was about 4 grand and most of that was spent on a used Hyundai LOL. But I will always remember going into Tower Records that night after we did the show and buying more than $400 worth of CDs. Still the most I ever spent on music in one go!
@@ifutureman analyzing the commercials/voiceovers on the other uploads plus Mazie was the returning champ on the first Boston show 2 weeks later. Those eps we know the air dates for!
@@defoedude well thank you for the info! It was so long ago I had the year mixed up. I hope Mazie won again. She was a sweet woman and we were all afraid she was gonna have a full blown panic attack… it was so cool how it all came together for her
Thats awesome, man! I bet you were a cool teacher. Cheers 🍻
HOLY SH!T this is awesome! Back when Vanna had to actually SPIN the letters!
One of many highlights that day was seeing Vanna strolling around the set in jeans and a t-shirt before she dressed up for the show
From a 2006 Wheel Alum, thank you for uploading this and you did great!
Nice! I hope you had better luck than I did. When that Lose a Turn cost me $7000 I was so sick inside.
@@ifuturemanI won $6000 cash thanks to the tossups. If you’re on Facebook I’d love to invite you to the Wheel of Fortune Alums group I co-moderate.

Loved the story! Thanks for sharing!
I remember this spring of 1993.
This is when they no longer had to buy things, they got to keep their money and do whatever they wanted with it.
I never knew this, but where do the losing contestants go after the show backstage? I couldn’t figure that out.
I don’t recall… I think they politely whisked us out the door!
Did you know that Pat Sajak will be retiring at the end of Season 41? He is one of the best hosts of "Wheel!"
He lasted 5 years more than the late Bob barker
Pat sajak's timeline 1983-2024
Bob barker's timeline 1972-2007
Mazie is going to go to London 🏴!
Do you remember how you spent the $5,850?
