@@johnsonkevin1 That's correct, I've never seen him in blue silks, I think they were green? I know he only had the one race as a juvenile (won), I think it was the Washington Singer at Newbury for some youngish trainer who was shot before he was in the hands of Godolphin.
@@nightowl7459 yes, Alec Scott. He was owned by Sheihk Mo's nephew. He was under the Godolphin banner. A few in the early years did not run in the blue
Out of the list, Shamardal is my fav. Has sired so many good horses too. I think Dawn Approach has huge natural talent and probably one of the fastest horses over 6-7f. I think if Connections kept him at a mile for his 3yr old campaign, he would have been unbeaten. Should have never been entered for the Derby, has way too much speed and only stamina for the mile. Great horse.
John Cahill True, I agree to a certain extent as he was a New Approach who was best at 1m 2f and the Derby trip but one would assume the dam (where the stamina line should come through) probably carried more speed than stamina and what we had seen of the horse suggested he was a true miler.
Stamina line doesn’t always come from the dam Line at all ! Churchill by Galileo is out of a top class sprinter yet Galileo put stamina in to him to get a Mile easily , Gleneagles the very same
John Cahill I hear that. Churchill was a serious 6f horse at 2. Same could be said for the Filly Clemmie, also a Galileo. A strong line of both speed and stamina for these Galileo’s. I believe the Galileo’s are great sprinters at 2 as they come late and stay on strong so when they’ve filled out and matured at 3. The Mile (and further distances) are right up their street
Swains King George win in 1997 was the best field ever assembled in any horse race. He was a battle hardened globe trotter on both turf and dirt. Should have won the Breeders cup classic if Dettori hadn't screwed up.
So many top horses missing from this list. I think Night Of Thunder should have gotten a feature. Hunter’s Light was a top horse over 1m 2f and won enough class races to be entered here, including the Group 1 Dubai classic in his last race.
John Cahill again, I agree. I know Godolphin picked up Dawn Approach before he won the 2000 Guineas and when Night Of Thunder won the following year, he was in Saeed Manana colours. He couldn’t win again at 3 as Kingman had his measure after the win in the Guineas but he still managed a classy win at 4yr old in the Group 1 Lockinge at Newbury. His consistency alone and level of performances puts him up there for me. A beast at 6f as a 2yr old and a damn good miler too.

There will never be a horse as good as Lammtarra for godolphin
FORESTDONS: I'm not sure if he was a true Godolphin horse? Either was a superbly bred horse but he was a little too lightly for my liking.
@@nightowl7459 He never wore the blue silks but was wintered in Dubai before returning to Newmarket for his classic season.

Phobs DSR he was by New Approach himself a Derby winner, there was plenty of encouragement for him getting the trip
