Thank you so much for this video ! Took me about 7 tries to undo and redo because I kept forgetting which side I had done but I started using binding clips and that helped. Turned out amazing!
It's hard to hold the ribbon and keep hands our of the way. You may find the photos in the blog post more helpful. (the post link is in the description)
Ok so the way you explain it doesn’t stay together. You said work with ribbons on same tot but it stays separate. So i imagine you use different ‘tot’ on other loop so it can combine. Please explain.
Hi, Theresa, It's hard to know where the miscommunication is. The images in the post linked above may help. Otherwise, you can send me an email with a photo and I can help that way. If you'd like to email me, you can find my address in the about tab on the blog. I've helped out ribbon lei makers via email. :)
I wrap ribbon around something, like a cell phone or deck of cards, that is 4 - 6 inches long, depending on how wide you want the bow. I wrap the ribbon 8 - 20 times depending on the ribbon and how full you want the bow. I hope that helps.
Can you show how to add a money pouch/holder to the lei and adding 2024 to it? Graduation coming and trying to figure how to do a white and maroon double ribbon lei that has 2024 on it with a money pouch.
You can add a money pouch and a 2024 tag by tying them with the bow. You can also weave them in a bit lower down and into the lei. Weave the ribbon attached to the pouch or tag through the woven parts of the ribbon lei and tie in the back. Just double check that the money pouch is supported by the lei and doesn't pull it down too much. Happy graduation lei making!
It's difficult to manipulate the multiple strands of ribbon and also keep my hands out of the way. You may find the still photos in the blog post helpful in addition to this tutorial.
It's the same steps as before and after the cut. If you'd like to email me, you can and we'll figure it out. You can find the email address on the blog under About and then Work with Me.

Hi, Carrie. If you have the weight of the ribbons pulling down on the loops, it can pull them off the table. I place the rolls of ribbon on the table and then just pull out enough ribbon to braid until I need to pull more out. Does that answer your question?
At each step I make sure that I've pulled the ribbon taut (but not too tight). It really does get easier once you get about 2 inches done. I've also found it easier to lay the lei on my thigh while wearing jeans. It helps keep it from sliding around like it can on a table or smooth surface.
Sorry about that, Carmen. It's tough to hold the 4 different ribbons plus the lei all at the same time. You may find the photos in the blog post are more helpful (the link is above in the description).
It's difficult to hold the ribbons while braiding and keep hands out of the way. There are photos in the blog post listed above. You may find the photos more helpful because I could keep my hands more to the side in a still photo
It's difficult to braid the ribbons and keep hands out of the way, but the blog post (link in the description) has photos with the hands not blocking the braiding steps.
I'm sorry you're finding the braiding challenging. Don't give up. It really does get easier with a bit of practice. Try holding your hands in different positions with the ribbon until you find a way that works for you (you can see in the video that my fingers are holding all the different ribbons in place).

This video is terrible. If we want to watch her hand and finger it’s a hot video. But we can’t see what you saying to do. And the first step is “do this”. Huh
Sorry if it seems daunting, Chris. Once you get the hang of the braiding steps, it really goes pretty quickly. You may find the photos and steps in the blog post easier to follow. Let me know if there are any of the tutorial steps I can help you with.

I'm so glad you're happy with your resulting lei! The next one will be easier. :)
Are you taking the ribbon from opposite pair so that the 2 pairs weave together?? Icant see your hands are in the way

I hope to reshoot the video soon, but in the meantime, you may find the photos on the blog helpful.
search up crochet slip not and you will understand how to do the starting
The camera angle is not places right. It makes it so hard to figure out.
Can you redo the video from above looking down at your hands! It’s hard to see.
I hope to reshoot the video soon, but the photos on the blog may be helpful in filling in until I'm able to redo the video.

Would you please post a video of the bow making? Thanks

Where do you connect the 2 sets? Can’t see through your hands
I have wished for see through hands so many times since doing these tutorials! The blog post has photos that may help see the steps better. organized31.com/double-braided-ribbon-lei-instructions/
I can not figure out how the two different pairs connect other than by me holding down on table. can you help?
Hi, Carrie. If you have the weight of the ribbons pulling down on the loops, it can pull them off the table. I place the rolls of ribbon on the table and then just pull out enough ribbon to braid until I need to pull more out. Does that answer your question?
It keeps getting loose. I literally tried to do the first part for like 50 mins
At each step I make sure that I've pulled the ribbon taut (but not too tight). It really does get easier once you get about 2 inches done. I've also found it easier to lay the lei on my thigh while wearing jeans. It helps keep it from sliding around like it can on a table or smooth surface.
How wide is this usually?
An inch to an inch and a half. It all depends on the width of the ribbon you use and how tightly you weave the ribbons.
Explained very well n nice.
Thank you
Thank you. Have fun creating!
what length of ribbon would work best for a kindergarten graduation?
5.5 to 7 yards of ribbon should make a child-sized lei. Have fun, Jessica.
Where do you buy your ribbons from?
I buy it from a craft store or big box store.
Hard to see with her hand on the way
Sorry about that, Carmen. It's tough to hold the 4 different ribbons plus the lei all at the same time. You may find the photos in the blog post are more helpful (the link is above in the description).
Hi! How many yards do you need for this?
8 - 10 yards of each color for 1/4 inch wide ribbon. Less for shorter graduate and more for taller graduate. Have fun!
How do you end the leis if you leave it open ended as opposed to a complete circle?
You could simply knot it neatly or add a kukui nut to finish the ends of the lei.
Clever!!!!!
How wide is the end product?
It's an inch to an inch and a quarter wide, but that will vary depending on the size ribbon you use and how tightly you braid the ribbons.
I’ve tried watching you for 30 minutes. Did you watch this ? And didn’t realize your HANDS are covering the project! Later! No good.
It's difficult to hold the ribbons while braiding and keep hands out of the way. There are photos in the blog post listed above. You may find the photos more helpful because I could keep my hands more to the side in a still photo
Will try mam tku
how long does it usually take you to make one lei?
About an hour and a half for your first lei. Once you get the hang of it, you can complete a lei in about an hour.
@@organized31 thank you!
@@nagzladie Have fun creating a keepsake!
What size are the ribbons
1/4 inch wide and 8-10 yards long, depending on how long you want the lei.
Did she flip ribbon on left side? Or am I completely lost
At what point of the process? And there are more photos in the blog post above that may have easier to see images.
Камера у Вас стоит не правильно, в начале не понятно как закрепили ленты. Всё закрили руками. Следите за камерой.

Have fun crafting and gifting the lei!
je fais le simple, mais je vais essayer de faire celui là

What kind of knot? What kind of loop? You skipped some pretty important steps!
Just loop the ribbon around two fingers and the pull the folded over end through the loop and pull tight.
Your hands are in the way at the very beginning.
It's difficult to hold the ribbons and also keep hands out of the way. You may find the photos in the blog post helpful because the hands are held out of the way for the still photos.
