this song came out in 1974, this performance was done in 2016 ? 42 years later and they still got it
Yep. How many groups from today will be remembered in 20 years, let alone 40+ years.
That’s Paul Rodgers on lead vocals, one of the greatest in rock history. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Have to disagree with the “one of “ part …👍
And this is an older version of Paul Rodgers. Wish this had been an earlier video.
Say it again for the ones in the back!!! 😉🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Absolutely, and he's still rocking!
You bet!
Shooting Star by Bad Company is a thinly veiled tribute to Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison and was also a big hit.
It was also about lead guitarist, Paul Kossoff, who was, with Paul Rogers and Simon Kirk, in the band, FREE, with in the early 1970's.
When FREE broke up, Kossoff declined into Drug Use and died a couple of years later.
Must do
@@carljacobson7156 exactly
Yeah, it was mostly about his friend and band mate Paul Kossoff
No,its about there lead Guitarist Paul
The "Studio" version of this is worth not only listening to, but studying.
The recording was done last minute, with equipment hastily set up where it would fit (drums in the hallway, guitars in the living room) and the vocals were recorded out in a field in the middle of the night.
Interesting you note the Blues sound. Bad Company is very blues influenced on their music. They are phenomenal live. It’s hard to believe I’ve been listening to them for 40 years. 😳
Rock N Roll Fantasy; Feel Like Makin Love; and Shooting Star should all be on your list! Glad you liked them.
Paul Rodgers....One of the best vocalists ever
Yes! He can sing. He is The King of blues rock vocals, since the late 60's with Free. Then with Free drummer Simon Kirke in Bad Company, still touring today with his band Free Spirit.
Cheers!
This song is epic but I've never seen this specific live version before now. Very good choice.
One of my favorite classic rock bands of all time !!! Lynyrd Skynyrd , Bruce Springsteen, Pink Floyd , The Who , Jon Bon Jovi , AC DC , etc. What a fabulous Era in 70's and early 80's for rock bands !
Five Finger Death Punch did a fantastic cover of this song. Ivan Moody has one of the best voices in metal
Personally I like that version more.
Bad Company has an amazing catalog. They have an Album "10 from 6," which is a greatest hits collection of, oddly enough, 10 songs from a band of 6 men. Probably a coincidence. One of my favorites from it is "Silver, Blue and Gold."
Not actually important, but it’s called that cause it collects 10 songs, from 6 albums
@@downwardisheavenward3006 And misses out anything from Burning Sky :)
Love that song.
6 is in relation to the number of studio albums released by the original lineup which was FOUR members….never been six in their lineup.
great live version but its worth it to hear the studio version! also the five finger death punch cover is really good too!
Seagull, a beautiful song.
Paul Rogers, one of the most iconic voices in all of Rock-n-Roll. The band formed up in 1973 and have been an on-again off-again act into the present. Saw Paul Rogers live 6 years ago and he could still belt it out......very strong and iconic voice. He lends his longevity to a drug-free lifestyle. Their biggest hits were in the 70's....Can't Get Enough, Good Lovin Gone Bad, Feel Like Making Love, Shooting Star, and Ready For Love were all huge hits. The same manager who managed Led Zepplin also managed Bad Co. until 1982 (Peter Grant). Great reaction, TY.
Wow, I haven’t heard Bad Company in forever. I’m not really a heavy rock fan but this was good. Thanks for re-introducing it to me!
well thankfully this isn't heavy rock haha
@@99bajakid touché- to me it is but rock isn’t really my favourite cup of tea, so the minute distinctions are lost on me.
Shooting Star and Feel Like Making Love are amazing songs from them!
There were SO MANY good bands, good music, good concerts, back then !!
Nothing live rock concerts from the ‘70s and ‘80s
@@gregphipps7082 ain't it the truth. Billy Gibbons is my son's godfather; picked him up when he was little and he sat on the stage on a folding chair when they did a home concert and we mourn Dusty, Steve Tyler another. they still paintball together and collect guns. We actually flew to 3 different cities in a row to see the same Stones concert ! Best wishes ! P
@Patricia Palmer graduated from same High School as Billy, though 6 or 7 years later. My brother and I often heard a band practicing in a garage across the street, over the fence & a few blocks away; it was later we realized it was Billy G & the beginning of 'That little ol' band from Texas'! Years later, while ordering drinks at the bar of a Mexican restaurant, saw Dusty sitting by himself having a beer. Not really knowing what to say, simply asked him if he graduated the same year as Billy, wearing sunglasses, sporting that awesome beard & flashing a friendly smile, he said he grew up in Dallas, haha. RIP Dusty~ Your son has a cool Godfather!
@@s.l.duncan4901 He was my middle son's godfather. When they used to come home for Thanksgiving and do a, concert Thanksgiving evening, he picked him up in the am in that big convertible with the longhorn grill, he'd eat with his family and sit on a folding chair on the stage at Greenway. Willie Nelson and David Allen Coe were joint as another son's godfathers and Richard Petty, the 3rd one. Steve Tyler was godfather to my eldest's son's child. They paintballed, & collect wierd guns among other things.
This is when Paul Rodgers and the other members of "Bad Company" were a lot older. This song was from 1973. This looks like 40 plus years later. They were a great "Classic Rock" era British Band. Should have heard him sing when he was a younger man. So much soul in his voice.
Paul Rodgers still has a great voice and this live performance was four decades after the song was first released. I loved his voice best of all when he was in Free. His vocals on classic songs such as 'Oh I Wept', 'Be My Friend', 'Soon I Will Be Gone' and 'Come Together in the Morning' are full of soul, emotion and power.
Live For Music........great song
This is another one where the live performance is good, but do *yourself* the favor of listening to the original studio on your own.
Agreed this was good but the album is well worth listening to.
I agree 💯
4 Sure
Such an amazing band and Paul still has such an amazing voice. I regret not ever seeing them live. Shooting Star, Rock n Roll Fantasy, Silver Blue & Gold, and Feel Like Makin' Love would be good choices for your next listen.
Absolutely one of the best concerts I attended back in the day was Bad Company. Poco was another memorable concert for me, as well.
Jealous. My fave was Bowie in 74
Poco!!! 💜
Check out the band Free same singer and drummer. Amazing. Bad Co guitarist is a hero of mine. He showed me some chords and stayed with us when I was a kid. Later made his name with Mott The Hoople before Bad Co. Genuine bloke, suffered stroke a few years ago, not in such good shape these days. Get well Mick and be blessed. Rock an Roll giant.
Nice to see some love for Mick here. He’s such a sweetie, and so talented. ❤️
My mom used to have this song on a cassette tape in her GMC Jimmy. Lol.
I had this cassette... It was pink
:-)
Feel like making love, ready for love, love somebody....good songs
Learned something new today . I have listened to this song for … well decades, since it came out, and I always thought the lyrics were " Rebel souls, Deserters we are called, Chose a gun, And threw away the sword …" ( as in upgrading their weaponry to a modern version) , not "Rebel souls, Deserters we are called, Chose a gun, And threw away the sun...". Even old dogs can learn new tricks lol
My favorite song from them is feel like making love I saw them about 10 years ago the concert was awesome 👌 👏 👍 ❤❤
The album Bad Company, or BadCo, came out in the mid-70's. Lead Singer Paul Rogers, though he sounds good here, when the album was released he had, arguably, one of THE BEST voices in Rock and Roll. His voice shows it's age here in this video, and it has aged very well. Lots of the Blues in Paul's past.
Great live version with just a few additions, should try the album version. This about the third live version I have seen all are great. PS Paul Rogers was originally lead singer with the group 'Free' try their song 'Alright now'
I always hate live versions, we spend 40 years loving the original so of course you're going to change it when I pay a lot of money to see you live. So it doesn't sound anything like it.
The only artist I've seen that does better live than they do on their album is Chris stapleton. His album sound pathetic compared to his live performances it's so funny
This is one of the groups that I was fortunate enough to see in concert. Amazing vocals and vibes. Feels like I’m back there right now. Thank you young man for keeping awesome music and memories alive 😎☮️❤️🌻👵🏼
Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest rock / bluesy rock singers. He did a whole tribute to Muddy Waters. I saw him live on that tour in 1993 and he was excellent. He ended with this song. He opened for Steve Miller Band. Great show.
Very inspirational music. Good to have playing when your back against a wall.
This song will always remind me of my Army Basic Training/Advanced Individual Training (AIT). One of my Drill Sergeants (DS) played this song during a classroom portion of my military training. It was the first taste of the civilian life I knew from several weeks before. It was a nice gesture from the DS and made a very memorable moment in my life. That was in 1990 as a reference.
Jesus I have never heard them live!!!! Wow! I will be looking for more live Bad Company. Thanks!
This is the voice from the legendary All Right Now by Free.
This song always makes me think of a Clint Eastwood type western movie! Have loved it since I was a little girl. But, I grew up watching Westerns, so that is just the emotional association I have with it.
I've heard this song 100+ times but never saw this live version. Thanks for making my day. Paul Rodgers is a legend. You should dive deeper my friend.
Same vocalist, Paul Rodgers in the band "Free" doing "Alright Now" ripe old age of 19 I think. He was born a master vocalist.
Huge props to whoever suggested the Live version of this!!!
My introduction to this song was the Five Finger Death Punch cover. Ivan's voice, with Zoltan and the boys' instrumentals, were a fantastic tribute to the original. I'm not a huge fan of all their covers, but THIS one is just great! You can really tell how much 5FDP love and respect these guys and their music.
Legends!! Bad Company by Bad Company, Midnight Rider by Allman Bros, Desperado by The Eagles, Renegade by Styx is on my Black Hat playlist 🤠
Rolling down the streets of Baghdad with this blasting through my headphones...
Such a phenomenal singer and band.
My very first concert, still love them !!!
When I first heard BAD COMPANY, I thought they were a Southern Rock Band from the US - only later I found out that they were all British.
BAD COMPANY and LED ZEPPELIN pretty much created the 'Stadium Rock' of the 1970's.
Paul Rodgers was amazing in Free my brother Jake a wishing well and it's all right now all classics. He also went on to front Queen after Freddie Mercury passed
The Paul Rogers rabbit hole is an amazing journey! He started out in the 60’s in the band called Free with a song called All Right Now, then later joined Bad Company.
Great memories. Our band did 6 songs off of that album when it first came out.
Paul Rogers,, amazing soulful singer. He also sung with queen for a time, and of his "newer" work, I loved 'We Believe', as not only shows he still has an amazing voice and the message in the song is very relevant to today.
Yes. The song Bad Company performed by the band Bad Company from the Album Bad Company.
Grew up with Bad Company. Awesome song!
I know you like live versions of everything but some songs you should really hear the studio version. You miss out on so much of the song when you do live. Especially this band
5 Finger Death Punch did a cover of this and its super epic, gives it such like a soundtrack feel almost
They have 20 or so GreAt songs ranging from Balads to Rockers
Some of my favorites
Feel Like Makin Love
Deal with a Preacher
Good Lovin Good Band
Rock Steady
Ready for Love
Burnin Sky
Run with the Pack
Live for the Music
...,.......
You've gotta get more of that video showing, dude.
Excellent observation and great reaction. Paul Rodgers actually stated in interviews that he was heavily inspired by an early western/cowboy vibe writing these lyrics and where the feel was coming from, moving his family and everything else into an old lawless type of town.
Silver Blue and Gold is another GREAT Bad Co. song!! Paul Rodgers has such a smooth, velvetly voice for sure. If you like his voice, take a listen to King King from Scotland. Alan Nimmo's voice and guitar playing is truly sensational !!!
Paul Rogers was also the lead singer for the group Free (before Bad Company).
Amazing! Thanks for the reaction! Good rabbit hole to go down!
Mention of piano intros brings Locomotive Breath, by Jethro Tull to mind. A great song.
One of the greatest rock bands
Keep digging, I personally like the energy of a live performance but I REALLY like the studio sound quality.
Yes do more…awesome group
Been awhile since I heard this version of it. While this is great and the orginal FFDP did an excellent cover of this.
Paul Rodgers is considered to be the best blues rock singer of all time !..He just doesn't sing the blues, it's in his soul.
💯 Congrats on 436K subs MrLboyd! 🔥
I've loved this band from the very 1st time ever heard them! ❤
I grew up in the perfect time to see and hear this great music. Bad Company was amazing in concert! No complaints here ✌🏼❤️🌻 Consider “Shooting Star” for your next reaction ☮️
My favorite band of the 70s. Rock n Roll👍.
Iconic late 70's rock.
Must recommend "Ready for Love" live at Wembly version, to hear Paul Rodgers and Bad Company at their very best! Paul Rodgers was also in the supergroup The Firm with Jimmy Page (Led Zep). They had hits with "Radioactive" and "Satisfaction Guaranteed" in the 80's. Great stuff!
misissippi delta blues mixed with rock = southern rock... but, from England...great band.
I always thank of the movie Young Guns when this song plays
Me too fam.
Their Desolation Angels album is one I never hear reactions to, some of my favourites are Crazy Circles, Oh Atlanta and Rhythm Machine! All are phenomenal tunes.....
This is the best singer ever in Freddie Mercury’s opinion. In this song he says picked up a gun and threw away his sword not son
Paul Rodgers! One of Rock's greatest vocalist of all time!
Thanks for the great review. Nice to see a young person enjoy classic rock. Sadly most your age only listened to pre-programmed dance/club slop. Guys like you give old guyslike me cause for hope!
Rock and roll came from the blues, and this is back when they were much closer-related.
My favorite song by them
2 min in, volume doubles.... yep, thats about right, lol
Paul has always been my favorite voice/singer
Bad company feel like making love should be the next song you listen to.
Thank you B... try "Feel like making love" "are you ready for love" there's many! Enjoy...
A favorite. Thanks
They still sound so good 🔥
Love me some Bad Company. So many great songs. Check out "Simple Man", "Feel Like Makin' Love", "Fade Away" & "Seagull"
Solid part of my past. Listen to the recorded version.
🎸💯 Bad Company rocks out‼🔥❤
You have to watch some of the live performances on you tube. They're awesome.
Bad Company is one of the bands signed to Led Zeppelin's record label Swan Song. They toured with Zeppelin a lot in the 70's. Bad Clmpany I feel is one of the more overlooked bands from the 70's. Cant Get Enough, Movin On, Good Lovin' Gone Bad, and Feel Like Making Love would all be excellent songs to react to. In the 80's Paul Rogers the lead singer for Bad Company teamed up with Jimmy Page from Zeppelin and had a band called The Firm.
They never toured with Zeppelin. They were on the same label and occasionally guested in jams at each other’s performances.
Never get enough credit!!!!🔥🔥🔥
Bad Co has a great catalog!
Feel Like Making Love is a good one.
It was a hit all right!😂👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Hard to believe they've been excluded by the Hall of Fame. His voice alone should be recognized there as one of the greatest of all time.
Well rock and roll is a mix of rhythm & blues , just played loud
Good Loving Gone Bad , Shooting Star , Gone gone gone are all good ones
* I really hope you do 3rd one , Nobody has ever reacted that song
10 from 6 is one of the greatest albums of all time.
Along with all the songs below,...you should also check him out in the Super group "The Firm" ...Satisfaction Guaranteed,...Midnight Moonlight Lady,...and also Radioactive.
First time hearing them? They've been around forever! 😲😲😲
This song i amazing, and its crazy that its such an important "souther rock" song but the band is from the U.K. Dont bother listening to the five finger death punch version it doesn't compare
Paul is a TOP END rock God! See if you can find an early version of his work, when he was young and STRONG !! ❤
