Amazing work and documentation, must feel amazing amazing to drive. Shame a 540i manual had to die, those are super rare for us in europe
Amazing video Bro! 💪
Niceee, awesome job mate, thank you for posting your work😊
Nice work 👍 i just manual swap my e34 540i wagon and it feels much better
What sort of wiring do I need to do after I swapped it into a manual I’ve got a 1998 540i ?
Waoooo, great job, congrats and enjoy it a lot!👍🏽👍🏽
How did you do the wiring of the engine?
I followed this exact video down to the T now my cars doesn’t start … has spark and fuel but won’t start? I need help
where did ya get the driveshaft if you dont mind me asking?
want to get a 97 e38 to swap n daily.
Did you ever figure out how to properly code it so there is no need to jump the trans connector?
From what I've read online it seems you need to flash the ECU with a manual 540
So you use the 740i drive shaft but just extended it 3 inches?
You extend the front piece 98.5mm (3.88 inches or 3 7/8s) if using the 740i/L driveshaft. I'm using the 540i driveshaft, so I'm extending 100mm (4 inches), since it is 22mm shorter than the 740i one. Some older, pre-facelift (sry, can't recall exact model years) e38's came with a different automatic and require lengthening even more. Best to measure yours first.
@@chrisleehunt thanks bro. that was a really cool video. i am always thinking about doing this mod, but didn't have the courage until i saw your vid
