    We had Zen, real glass cannon: high rewarding, high risk and then comes Kiriko: high rewarding, no risk, who can easly run away. Make her can not teleout when around enemies or getting hit.

      I love zen hes my favorite support to play and it pisses me off that all the other supports can do more damage than him even though that was his whole thing. A support that can do a lot of damage while being vulnerable. Now every support can do that but they are basically invulnerable.

      I avoided ever playing Kiri for so long and I finally started picking her and got value so quickly it was stupid. If you can quick flick at the floor, you can chase any DPS away from you most of the time 😂

      No they didn't. I tested this with the disc... When you use the disc it says it needs an update, then it shows OW2. It was not removed, it was updated.

    When I critize Overwatch 2, people always say "Ohhh you're just wearing nostalgia glasses" - I tried the beta and hated it, immediately went back to Overwatch 1 and it felt leagues better to play comparitively at that time for me. Who on earth thought it was a good idea to switch from 6v6, It probably was not Jeff Kaplan. Worst fumble in the history of Overwatch decisions. The tank synergy was a CORE gameplay mechanic and it has been gutted.

      We had the OW2 Beta and OW1 at the same time, we were able to form opinions back then. And even if we didnt play Beta, we had 6+ years of OW1 experience and we can say that OW2 just doesnt compare.

      To me under Jeff Kaplan we got a proof that they *could* balance the game during October 2020. Why didn't that stick around?
      Well probably because 2021 comes a few months later and Jeff Kaplan is already leaving Blizzard.
      However.. What did Jeff Kaplan say going up on stage during Overwatch 2 announcement at 2019 Blizzcon? "First and foremost you have to remember that Overwatch is a team-vs-team 6v6 competitive experience and there’s no way we’re losing that at all, in fact that’s a huge focus."
      I doubt he was lying. It's likely the direction Jeff Kaplan and likely his team wanted to go with. Why didn't they? I don't know, but I'd assume it's to either resemble other e-sports shooters or an attempt to make the game feel different so that it's harder to criticize.

      sad to see this happening to overwatch. started playing in overwatch 2 and i’d love to put the hours in to hit t500 on doom but the devs just make skill,and, using the fundamentals of ow less and less rewarding every… single… patch.

    blizzard don't do medication, they do amputation. pros are running 3 tanks 3 healers? boom, limit the number of characters from every role per team to 2. player's are running 2 barrier tanks? boom only 1 tank per team. just remove anything that would require any effort to fix.

      One thing for sure, samito is able to accurately vocalise what many in the community know is wrong with OW2 but don’t know how to express, all the way from Top 500 to shitter casual quick play warriors. I mean damn most of my friends left OW2 rather quickly getting “burnt out” or annoyed at new heroes etc., and sure a lot of that was due to the crazy switch to a freemium game with monetisation galore - but it was this loss of identity and bizarre compensation of another tank you can really feel now.
      Shit, all the best features even outside of 6v6 which gave OW its identity got stripped too… Medals were removed, votes at the end were removed, levels and prestiges were removed. Hell even the significance of POTG is fuck all now. The on fire system got brought back whose removal originally got dismissed as confusing feedback to a player, but never got thought of as a great morale boost for teamplay and dopamine hit in general. These are all minor things, and pale in comparison to the 5v5 vs 6v6 topic, but they are questionable removals of features which made OW be OW.
      So with all that being said, I think a load of these YTers just either go with the flow, or are so buried in the idea of “we are in 5v5 now let’s just make this work” after years of neglect, they make do with what they got. All the while, they release a teaser trailer for some cosmetics and those same people go crazy - a week after a somber video discussing the 1900 employee layoffs… Idk man, feels like hating OW or blindly taking everything in stride is easier than trying to fix it like Samito is arguing for.

    OW1 was a true multivariate analysis for a player. And it kept them coming back. It was more than mechanical skill, the challenge and reward was solving the complex scenarios the game put you in. But OW2, it's a basic univariate exercise. Counter the single tank. That's it, nothing else really matters. Easy peasy boring I already beat this game kind of feeling. Good stuff Mr Samito.

      @@JINXED_00 I'm not sure you understand what a multivariate analysis is. No offense. Why do we celebrate Chess and laugh at checkers? OW2 solve for 1 variable and once solved it'll have a defined outcome. They're on hog, go Ana. OW1 what happens when you solve for Hog? Oh, you now have to solve for the second tank who maybe isn't affected at all by anti, in which case maybe there's a better middle ground solution. How you solve that depends not only on how you solve the tanks individually, but also in what order you solve them and you have to account for them coming back as different tanks with different synergies which totally resets the equation. Double shields you say, ok, whatever, it doesn't matter what your solving for, the point is there's more than 1 thing to solve and it has more than 1 variable. Double shield is no different from double invul's. Both can be solved thru balance. And when you get into the psychology of it, what brains are meant to do, what someone playing a game really wants, 6v6 satisfies that. Problem solving thru pattern recognition. Chess vs Checkers.

      Dude that is such a good point. There were SO many things besides mechanics that made a good OW player. Having a sense for how long a respawns would take to get back, staggering or not getting staggered, when to touch point or when to just play high grounds, sense of when enemies have their ults… they are doing everything in their power to remove skill not only in balance but game knowledge.

      @@ScottyGG Are you sure the only soltuion for a hog is an ana? you can go bastion. You can go orisa. You can go junker queen and try to knife him when he is hooking. You can go sombra and hack him while he is taking breather. You can go Phara, he won't catch you with the hook. You can also go zen or LF and pull the one is hooked.
      Saying there is only one solution is such a vague statement.
      Also applies for what the hell you are saying, "you also need to take account of the other tank" Yeah, and the DPS doesn't exist or the supp? If I go Phara for hog, maybe they pick bastion. If I go zen maybe they go a counter of zen. If I go ana for the hog maybe they have tracer and sombra who will try to go after me so I can't nade the hog

    In my opinion the main problem are just OP supports.
    When I heared they made a "Cleanse" ability (SUZO) I thought like nice, it could just clean the ana nades sometimes.
    The same day I found out that thing can just UNDO so many ults in this game.
    So I started focusing this stupid character in my games to force her OP cooldown and guess what, they just keep on simply pressing "SHIFT", instantly gone.
    so I tried to bait her "SHIFT" too, and guess what?
    She WALLCLIMB.
    And after ALL OF THAT, she got the SMALLEST HITBOX IN THE GAME that make her survive that extra second just enough to get her "Instantly gone" SHIFT ability.
    (And on top of all of that, she will most likely get saved by the second OP support hero, or just 2 tap your head and send you back to spawn)

      Ok so I agree on the fact that kiriko needs some changes but
      Kiriko does not have the smallest hitbox in fact her hitbox is pretty normal
      Her 2 tap is annoying at times but a lot of heroes out damage her in term of dps per sec if they also hit heads
      I like the immort but to me the real problem is just get tp
      They should make it a genji dash and make it the immort on ally hit (and yourself) for o.5 sec and make suzu just a cleanse and heal

    Sam has the exact same opinion as me on all things that were good in the game, and those that contributed to wrecking the game. Devs really need to listen to Sam and IDDQD about how to improve the game. Those two are the most level headed when it comes to these things out of the entire player base.

    I had two main critiques against OW1 on launch: 1) A team based game you queue for solo 2) the idea of "easy heroes."
    First, OW did NOT lean into the team based aspect, and this is a big reason why we eventually saw things like: role lock, homogenization of roles and individual heroes, being forced to lower the skill floor, and the eventual move to 5v5 was a response of the problems that came from not leaning into it. Moving to 5v5 also meant we got even MORE CDs that negate DPS plays because off tanks and DPS CC to help protect supports are gone. It would also have a number of positive effects if they had done the opposite.
    For instance, imagine grouping has zero effect on the matchmaker in competitive... like at all. Now the best strat is to group as a full team of 6 that you talk to and work with regularly. Gee, almost like the game is designed to create the social situations necessary to form friendships. To that end, imagine they add a guild system with a guild chat, and they used the existing OWL skin tech to allow you to create your own team colors, you can make a name, and you can use the in game player icons to let them choose an icon for their team. This also has the benefit of making the game easier to follow visually without removing two players from the match.
    Overnight the team focused change would mean players no longer have to deal with leavers, throwers, and toxicity. It limits the online disinhibition effect (aka everyone on the internet is a jerk) because you know you might have to work with those people again. So now there are consequences to bad behavior that takes ZERO dev time; players enforce it themselves naturally when you give them some agency. Even better, this is a focus on positive reinforcement (rewarding people for doing good) which is much more effective at changing behavior than negative reinforcement (punishment for something bad).
    You begin to build the COMMUNITY from the bottom up, and now watching the pros play becomes far more interesting when you realize you have your own team that you work with who can learn the strats they use. Everyone who plays skrims comes away with the same comments: that it is the most fun they've had playing OW, and that this is how the game SHOULD be played. That last bit is interesting, because you want the meta of your game to be the most fun way to play, and why you see such backlash against certain metas. Well having actual teams is an entire other dimension to this discussion that does not come up, and it's impact on the meta on everything below pro can't be understated. OW would be a very different game.
    As for "easy heroes" it means you can't balance for different skill tiers if the "skill to value" ratio is varied across the cast. If the "easy hero" is balanced so it is viable at the top end, it dominates ladder and ruins the average player's experience while boring your pros and best players. If you balance it so the "easy hero" is not viable at the top end, you limit strategic options at the level of team comps for your better players who could take advantage of, and players who are picking up the game fall into "traps" where the hero they spent their time learning suddenly doesn't work anymore. To climb higher they have to learn a new hero, which means their rating tanks for a while and at that point your average player will stop playing. The pros NEED that large player base underneath or the game eventually dies.
    If you watch some bronze games for a while, you will notice many of them WANT to play the more difficult heroes, even if they can't get the full value out of it (Ana, Widow, Hanzo, etc). The problem is there are easier options where they could get more value for the SAME amount of skill, so they are seen as throwing. Imagine if EVERY hero had value people at that rank couldn't get out of the heroes... well if the "skill to value" ratio is in check: 1) generally balances the cast within a bracket, 2) generally balances the cast BETWEEN brackets and different skill levels, 3) makes EVERYTHING easier to balance, 4) gives players not just agency in who they choose, but being able to pop off at any moment through your SKILL means you have more of an impact on the outcome of matches... remember one of the reasons they moved to 5v5 for?
    I would argue if they had addressed these two poor design choices we could have eliminated many of the problems over the life of the game.

      Kids these days dream of being Esports Pros, they snort some type of substance and grind ranked 12+ Hours a day.
      But Blizzard formed the OW Environment to be a "Everyone is Special" type of Game, just look at the average player, has the newest Kiriko or Mercy Skin as their profile picture, says Immortalities are fair, abuses game mechanics to climb without having the knowledge or skill and says things like "Genji is broken".
      Its sad to see the community of this game just being a bunch of snowflakes.

    Playing torb is kinda frustrating to me, I want to play him like a gunslinger engineer in TF2, like, placing a turret in a cheeky place, firing a couple, but 1: the turret doesn't feel satisfying to ambush people with, 2: whenever i find a place to build, either no one goes to that place, or someone immediately finds the place and breaks before it does anything, and 3: I can just spam my shots until i accidentally hit a headshot and send a squishy to the shadow realm because those hitboxes are fair
    If you lower the skill floor, people won't do better, they'll do the new bare minimum because most people don't push to do better if they're not required to

    "The skill is in the macro." What he's saying is he enjoys the strategy side more than the tactics, and I tend to agree. The strategy side of games is always more appealing to me. It's the planning, the reflection, the conscious decisions that are interesting. Just shooting stuff is all tactics (can i land more shots? Can I land my cooldown?) that's the very basic reptilian brain stuff. Just look at Mauga. That's 100% the direction they're going in. They are boiling the game down to the lowest denominator of player.
    I loved Symmetra having two ults, a shield generator or teleporter, I loved the complexity it added. Getting a TP up and bringing my whole team back to contest the first point on Eichenwalde was so much fun.

    I cant believe this video reminded me of warm memories about the 2cp maps. I used to dread hanamura but i would take it over that india map any day of the week. The more i think about it the more youre right that all this game has ever really done is rob players of their own creativity more and more over time

    They’ve already fixed double shield issue. Plus you can bypass cancer comps with sym tp. Ram owns the hell out of shield. Orisa was reworked. It’s pretty much brig and Kriko as the OP hero’s.

    As far as lowering the skill FLOOR, I'm not necessarily against that. I have a problem with them lowering the skill CEILING in the process. Imagine with the projectile increase if they made a second, smaller hitbox that is much closer to the actual model. Now for a headshot character you have: body - 1x, accurate body - 1.25x, head shot - 1.5x, and accurate headshot - 2x. Even characters that cannot headshot have their skill ceiling raised, while still lowering the skill floor.
    We should also really talk about "binary" abilities like a healing beam. Sure, mechanical aim isn't the only type of skill, but the mechanic ITSELF is a good example because doesn't allow it to be done better or worse; it is a binary of on or off. This leads to less skill expression and lowers the skill ceiling. You could say the same about OP survivability CDs where the only thing to consider is when to use it. This also means lower CDs are favored (especially in the new format) and longer CDs leads to a "feast and famine" experience that can be frustrating if too much value is tied to CDs. There is no counter play built into these mechanics as well, so power creep would just lead to an arms race of powerful abilities shutting down other powerful abilities masquerading as counter play.
    We started with something like Zen's ultimate being shut down with nade which was a CD that could win a team fight (kind of how Zen's ult when timed right can win a team fight by negating someone else's actions). This tended to be limited to ultimates and putting abilities that powerful on CDs for Ana was about as close to the sun as I would hope we would fly with that sort of thing, and to this day I believe 100% healing reduction on a CD is FAR too powerful; even 50% to match the healing portion would be quite strong. But then we get Suzu as a counter to nade which caused more problems than it solved. Shields/defense matrix existed as actual counter play, but even in 6v6 with two tanks it caused problems because not every tank was designed with a way to deal with it, and the mechanic is too powerful to not impact the meta. Now Ana's existence forces swaps with either certain tanks to not be useable, or to force one of the supports to switch to Kiriko. This is EXACTLY the sort of rock/paper/scissors balance for both tanks and supports that they wanted to move away from in 5v5 lol. It's so bad, I don't think we can address tank balance until nade is addressed.

    Loved his comparison between Torb and Engineer. With Engie, you have so many things to keep track of. You have to place down a turret, a dispenser, and the teleporter pads. You have to figure out where to put them and what order to build/upgrade them. You have to monitor your buildings, replace broken ones, and you ALWAYS have to be on guard for spies (lord knows pyros won't bother spychecking for you). From the very beginning, Torb was a watered-down, low skill version of Engie and they've applied that lazy design philosophy to everything else. The whole game feels like it's been dumbed down to placate whiny Mercy mains who are incapable of doing anything more than holding down left-click.

    It’s not just skill ceiling that’s being ruined. It’s skill expression. Junk mains are concerned what he will become following S9. Just less unique ways of playing your character in favor of dumbed down methods that you’ll be forced to play.

      I was honestly hoping that creator held tournaments with this would become a thing where there was a randomized generator for team selection per roles, and you would just see great players pitted against each other randomly so there would be no que time bullshit for them, say gm1 would be the cut off. forced discord use for comms, assholes would get kicked out of the league, would be so much better for the players and viewers to eliminate the match maker and dev team and bring the game we all loved back. I think Apex did something similar where there was a big tournament that had its own season and preds would sign up and wait to be put in a lobby. Can't remember the name of it but it worked really well.

    I realize I’ve been coping. I should’ve known that overwatch was becoming less of a game I enjoyed when they added Lifeweaver, I remember Jeff saying they’d never add another character that can place things in the world that can block teammates, and never make abilities that can interrupt teammates. That’s lifeweavers whole purpose. The amount of defensive value in the game is simply too much, people are living for so long, and there’s no double sheild, or off tank peel, and the characters still take forever to die. And now the cherry on top, they’re giving every character more health, I mean what the fuck man.

    20:31 Bro this one kills me. Moira is already hard to kill with a slender hitbox, good ad strafe, two- technically three self heals plus fade to disengage. Even though shes fast af and gets a crazy amount of self heal during her ult, at least if everyone focused her you could kill because she cant just fucking fade away.

    I can't take this new patch seriously, TBH. My 4D chess mind is thinking that the OW devs made the game easier to force the top-teir meta into the metal ranks so the entire player base will agree to nerf Zen into the ground because I cannot fathom why else this would be. Which is really cool, but I'm worried that the reason is something hilariously stupid instead.
    Also, hot take, I want the old Rein pin back. As a Rein main, it's far more fun to hit the funny button and be completely locked into it but you _always_ get the kill as a reward instead of just spamming the button and being able to bail yourself out of a bad decision if you miss.

    Every problematic comp in the gameplay, can be traced back to the same universal design flaw. JOATs, GOATs, D. Shield, Mauga/Zarya/Hog carry metas.
    Cloud mechanics will disrupt any and all oppositional play and force a mirror, because it’s the only level playing field available.
    The Boogieman has many faces. We’ll be seeing him again soon in S9 and when Venture releases (Invul. Comps)

    I hate that OW2 simply cant reach its potential. It still has the DNA of the game we loved. Some tweaks and a couple broken abilities getting cut is all it really needs, but the balancing team just wont or cant do it for whatever reason.

    The biggest thing for me is that it’s too easy to counter a tank with no skill, and basically make them want to delete the game. It’s just 10 minutes of counter swapping and it’s SO BORING.
    They’re trying to make a game that’s fun for the people who don’t want to think about anyone else/strategy (most DPS players let’s be real). Much easier to just have it be a deathmatch FPS.

    I think there are a few false dichotomies on both sides. Criticizing the community side, it's true that Blizzard has been trying too hard to make the game "easier", but I think there are some aspects of that that are good. Some of the examples used like "Hog being an ult battery" are things people universally considered to be a bad thing and I think that example is a bit of recency bias against the dev team. Reaper Wraith I can see the argument for but Wraith having a set duration made it very predictable and arguably makes Reaper less flexible, I think it was a good change nobody ever took issue with until now. Not every ability use has to result in the death penalty if you make a mistake.
    At the same time you have pretty much every support after Ana having too many tools and yeah stuff like the Rein and Hog changes as well, which do offer a bit too much forgiveness (and in the case of supports, actively harm the game).
    Criticizing Team Four, I think their problem isn't that they want to make the game easier, it's that they don't know how to do that without harming skill expression. It's possible for characters to have low skill floors and still demand skill to be used well. Lúcio, (OW1)Reinhardt, Soldier, and D.Va are all characters that are easy to pick up at the *base level* but require lots of skill to properly optimize and use beyond Gold rank. All it takes to design a character like this is to give them abilities and by extension playstyles that allow them to achieve easy value at the skill floor without drastically changing the way the game is played (think Lúcio healbotting or OW1 Rein shieldbotting.) Since playstyles like this can only get you so far, you can continue to build actual skillfull characters on top of that foundation. The problem with characters like Bap/Kiri is they have those abilities except with enough value at their skill floors to counter other characters at their skill ceilings.

    I agree and would like 6v6 restored.. but an outsider take, blizzard’s masterpiece no apology limitless skill ceiling was already made. Something they couldn’t monetize on. That was StarCraft 2.
    This game was amazing, but they need mass appeal now. They may be wrong, but that’s what they feel they need to do.

    if blizzard really wanted the game to be 5v5 then they removed the wrong role. 5v5 probably would have worked out better if they removed one dps slot instead of tank. the tank role was fine in ow1 with the and supports was still the best role even in ow1. DPS as a role has been underpowered comparatively to tanks and support especially since the release of brig and bap. so why not instead of removing off tank as a role, remove one of the dps and redistribute that power across the whole cast of dps heroes similar to what they did to supports with the off tank role. i feel the game would definetly be more fun and enjoyable especially for dps players if thats the case considering healing was already pretty busted in overwatch1

    IMO the 3 things that ruined OW:
    1. Immortality abilities
    2. Trash balancing and the idea that every character ALLWAYS has to be viable. Just bc theres a bunch of Sym and Torb otp doesnt mean you balance the game around them. If theyre defense heroes let them excel at defense and be trash on offense, thats the only way you can feasibly balance a big roster of characters anyway, make them situational.
    3. Removing 5v5
    Theyre trying too hard to appeal to casual players but the diehard fans are the only ones who will consistently play this game anyway so it makes no sense what they're doing. Even if youre an investor would you rather 1 mil people play the game once and buy a skin once, or 200k people play the game everyday and buy 4 skins? (Lmaoo i said 4 skin)

    The worst case of baby proofing has got to be Moira. Fade jump bacame base kit. Damage orb refills heal meter now. The amount of health regained from sucking increased. Coalescence was interesting because she was most vulnerable when ulting, then the devs allowed her to fade in the middle of it. Every change the devs made turned Moira from a beginner friendly hero with a deceptively high skill ceiling, to a brain dead healbot with the second cheapest get out of jail free card in the game.

    I remember the time when me and my friend got diamond for the first time in ow1. He was Hamston main and I was hog main. EVERY single game we would be flamed for not running shields but we knew our play. Hamston distracting opponents and me picking them one by one while they waste cooldowns on ball or vise versa. The highest complement we recieved is from enemy team questioning "How tf you guys make this comp work?". Gosh I miss THAT OW (Almost got to masters with this friend)

      me and a friend would do WInston/Ball and synergize dives, He would slam to pop them up and as they landed i would hit them with the winston landing damage starting to zap them, it was insanely fun, you had so many more ways to play, it even benefited dive heros more like genji, pharah hell even sombra now.

      I think it's actually better. Sam is romanticizing bunker a bit because unless I'm just completely wrong on this that comp was NOT played very often, and the character was even more "throw in high ranks dominant in low ranks" than he is rn. New Bastion still has flaws though dgmw, but stationary characters in a game like OW just invite easy counterplay. Maybe if they put more power into his recon form then stationary turret could have been fine 🤷‍♂️

      ive been a t500 bastion for years, i miss actually getting kills in his turret as meme flank plays. Now if i attempt that, its cleanse/lamp/grip, and i get 2 shot by a kiriko. Id much happier take more damage over mobility to actually burst supports fast enough instead of waiting for a 6 second grenade skill shot to secure one kill and lose my ability to jump out

    Man, OW2 really disapointed me, even though I've never had the opportunity to play OW1, but since 2017 I watched Patriota (brazilian youtuber) play it and I really looked foward to be able to get a pc that managed to run it, I could only build a pc that ran OW when OW2 season 3/4 launched, one of the characters i looked towards playing the most was Doomfist, I loved the idea of jumping around the map and punching people, now I can't really do that, I can only watch old videos of Doomfist and imagine what it was like to play him

    What Overwatch players refuse to get is that they keep playing the game because Overwatch 1 was great and immerse themselves in a fantasy. If Overwatch 2 in its current state came out in 2016 it would've been dead by the following year. But what about new players? What new players? When was last time you actually saw an actual new player that isn't a smurf... and even if you find that unicorn is probably a person that tried out the game because of the hype of Overwatch 1. Overwatch 2 is simply a castle of sand that its surprising it still stands.

    I would say Bap was huge problem that was never addressed properly and gets overshadowed bc they fumbled Brig so hard. I expect the S9 meta to revolve around Mei, Bastion, Reaper with Bap proidinf Aoe heals.

    ive grown to hate ow2 the way we have 1 less player ruins the way the game was played before and now your forced into counter swapping because if you don't mega counter the other tank or there dps you lose everytime, no matter how you play its based on countering and it feels awful on every role. also now that supports are being driven into the dps direction with the importance of healing decreasing, playing dps and tank just fucking sucks because no matter what you do there is a ability that saves the other person and you get dove on by a kiriko and you have no chance against suzu and tp and her super fucking small hitbox its so fucking bad.

    Can never get enough of this, I personally even preferred when there was no role queue honestly, as "unbalanced" as it might be, the diversity of team comps was insane and fun to experiment around with. I sometimes go back and watch the Blizzard World game with Dafran, Kabaji etc. where they were playing 5 dps + Lucio and just annihilating the enemy team, good times.

    You know what, you're right. No matter how biased I am to a hero, they NEED to have weaknesses to exploit and punish. By applying this principle to every hero, the game becomes more balanced and fun. I hate the concept of hard countering and believe that it should exist with varying degrees instead, where even a bad matchup can still be won with enough skill (which OW1 was pretty okay on) but someone like kiriko has literally no weakness???
    And i agree with chipsa on the old torb and symm. Like sure its an fps game, but if everyone was just lmb and rmb shots then whats the point of having varying heroes when i could just play soldier or hanzo or reaper. There needs to be different ways in dealing damage besides point and click abilities and I felt so sad after their reworks happened.
    Getting gatekept by good torbs and symms was the epitomy of humiliation especially when setups were done correctly before each attack. It allowed the attackers/defenders to innovate after each try

      People loved Overwatch because of its diverse Heroes, making everyone just Soldier Nr. 2 or Cassidy Nr.5 dumbs down the game a lot.
      Especially when we had Heroes like DPS Doom, such a fun kit, all they had to do was make his 1-Shot do 180 Damage instead and maybe buff his primary a bit.
      But no, we rework him to be a Tank who just gets countered very easily and has 0 engaging gameplay (imo).
      And dont get me started on 5v5 ruining the depth of the game.
      This Company is a joke.

    It's crazy how different OW2 is. I was a console GM on OW 1 on Mccree (I refuse to call him Cassidy), 76, reaper, Ana, zen, and Zarya.

    Im scared for Season 9, not because i dont know if it will be shit (It will 100% be a dumpster fire), but more because i dont know how many times the dev team dumbs down the gameloop, dumbs down the mechanical skill and dumbs down the teamplay, before accepting OW2 and 5v5 are overall just a worse game.
    The Game is nowhere near as popular as it should be, even while being live-service, and yes Blizzard has been controversial as hell the past few years, but that doesnt stop Overwatch from being played and it shouldnt stop OW from becoming popular.
    The Stream views of OW2 are the same as during the Contentdrought OW1 Views
    Nobody ever talks about the game except for in the Community itself
    Plenty of people leave because the game just isnt what it used to be
    5+ of my friends who gladly played OW1 with me left, and after loving Overwatch 1 for 6 years, it being my favourite game and having 4k+ hours in it, hitting T500 and having a blast, i must say OW2 isnt even in my Top 50 of Games.
    It has less Teamplay, Depth, is dull and 1-Dimensional and just feels like one big Deathmatch with no Structure.
    I went from playing OW1 daily to playing OW2 maybe once or twice a week (only because i have 1 friend who wants to play) and when i play i hate it so much and i have to stop after 1 - 3 games.
    I cant believe im saying this, but i want this season to flop like no other, i want the devs to get a wake up call and go back to 6v6, either that or start the OW1 Servers again, hell just release OW Classic at this point.
    Makes me sad to see what my favourite game ever has become.

    OW1 was so unique, I felt like each character had so much learn about them, Torb and sym especially and even bastion, I felt that I always had something to improve at and learn since they were so niche and you had amazing players still making them work in different situations that wasn't in their favor. Which honestly made the unranked to GMs far more interesting in OW1 than OW2. Each character really was a unique experience with tons of content in just learning a single character.

      Many newer heroes create frustrating interactions where they have too many “oh shit” buttons to deny gameplay rather than proactive abilities that enable your team to succeed.

    My favorite memories of ow1 was one tricking genji, and having enough wiggle room to make him work all the time. Hearing "how tf is the winston no shitting on our genji" or getting hate mail was always good cause it felt like my effort was rewarded. Now if genji doesnt work, he just wont work. Time to swap and its just annoying.

    Sym is a massacre. Loved playing her, but they kinda ruined her kit/playstyle into overwatch 2. Lack of tanks means she becomes an altfire bot instead of someone who plays with the team to shread tanks and take unique team engagements. And going into the next season, she will likely be the worst dps hero in the game (without any buffs).

    Overwatch 1 was better and so was Diablo 2, but we will never get it back. We have to move on and this company has show for 2 decades that they don't care about the loyal player base.

    If blizzard wants immortality to be in the game then they have to have skill in timing involved in there use. Imo they are fine for the most part but lamp lasts way too long, suzu is way too easy to hit everyone, grip is okay for the most part.
    I would make lamp last less than a second. I would make suzu unusable for a bit after tp and have a smaller effective radius. Im not opposed to them being removed though.
    Supports have always been able to deny value in a way through healing or other abilities but these types of abilities deny far too much. It should be closer to ability denying one ability rather than denying multiple abilities. Thats a fundamental unbalanced exchange and making them more like flashes of denial rather than total denial would be more fair.
