    DESCRIPTION
    If you work in archviz like I do, you often need an aerial animation of a construction project in full context, but building all that context in 3d can be time consuming and expensive. In recent years, with the explosion of drone technology, getting the context has become easier. Of course, you have to invest in expensive drone technology, possibly get a commercial drone pilot license, and learn complex camera tracking techniques. Now, there might be yet another option...Google Earth Studio.
    Google Earth Studio can't cut out the artistic and technical elements of meshing 3d models and video footage together, but it can provide good footage to start with. The most intriguing part is that it can do this for basically any spot in the world, and you never have to leave your desk. Of course, this has been available for a long time with Google Earth, however, with Studio, we now have full control over the animations using familiar 3d animation techniques. We can also create camera tracking information directly within Studio, and export it to After Effects. I find the animation tools incredibly useful and intuitive, and the resulting footage to be very usable.
    In this tutorial, I show you the workflow and go over the essential tools, so that you can be up and running right away with Google Earth Studio. I'll even touch a little bit on how to use the camera tracking so you can add 3d elements to your flyover animations.

    Very Cool...Thanks for sharing.. Any idea how much of the planet is covered within this?The states usually has more coverage than other countries .Any chance you know a database that mentions/highlights areas that compatible in 3D

    I actually came across this amazing tool by mistake :D ! and I already used it in a low budget animation and it turned out really great!!!

      The only "downside" is that they don't have the whole "earth" yet :D ! there are some places I would have needed to use it but no 3D buildings were available, but I think it is coming sooner or later!

      You're right, but this is pretty nice in a pinch, and if you don't have to have the highest quality. Thanks for watching.

    I signed up recently to the studio, but not able to get a realistic 3D view of the structure/building/street, Is the 3D view limited for some cities only?

    How did you import earth mesh into 3dsmax (with photogrametric topology and textures)?

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Рік тому +1

      I didn't, that was just my video background. All I imported was tracking points and a 3d camera, which if you line up with actual real-world geometry, will then give you the capability to match that video background correctly with any 3d elements you want to build/add. That said, bringing in that actual Google Earth geometry would be quite helpful (you should be able to using SketchUp) because then you would be able to place the tracking points and camera perfectly in relation to it. So, not only would you have a 3d camera with tracking points, but those things would now be perfectly located/scaled in relation to an actual place in the world. Once you have that, adding 3d elements will work nicely.

    Amazing!
    Can these be imported into Unreal Engine to add context in interactive Archviz content?

    • @Learn-archViz
      @Learn-archViz  Рік тому +1

      I think a lot of people are misunderstanding what tracking points get you. I didn't import any 3d into Max, except for a camera. That said, I know want to explore a workflow for how I could do that. If I had the 3d geometry of the city, and the 3d camera, I could really do some cool stuff. Someone probably knows better than I do, but SketchUp has a method for grabbing chunks of Google Earth, right? Once you have that, you could take it to Unreal, or do anything else you want to do with it.

      That was just basic navigation in there. I'd have to get in there and see. It is usually alt + middle button or something like that.

    is there a way any user can work on generating cities that still dont have 3d buildings?

      In Google Earth Studio you can have the 3d buildings on or off. Is that what you mean?

    Maps are only good for certain areas and locations, Maps are still old, does not cover in any detail Rural areas and small towns - no detail in maps. Still lacking in many ways.
