Chasing Yesterday pt. 5 | BWCA 2020

June 2020: The summer of lockdown. With so much change in the world, two friends and I set out to get back to basics and enjoy the simpler things in life, such as food, water, sun, fish, and sleep. We decided to head back to the Knife Lake area to explore some old places and some new ones as well. This trip turned into one of my favorites, and it worked perfectly to ease our minds. Though it was only a short time, the effects have been long-lasting.
In Part 5, we relax with a rainy day at camp, thankful we moved a day early to avoid traveling in the rain. The guys gather firewood while I film a video about my tarps, we stoke the fire all day long, watch raindrops fall from the trees around us, and catch a couple really nice fish. It was one of the best rainy days I've had in a long time, that I'm sure of! This day was supposed to be the last day of bad weather, so we got excited for the days to come.

Well we certainly try! The fish really made the day for us... I told Ben what I caught the smallie on (jerkbait) and he said he had a few but had never used them, so I told him to tie one on and cast it out. It took less than 10 minutes for that big sucker to bite! We hit an evening bite window for sure. Hard to be upset with rain when you end a day like that!
