Nothing has improved my style like spending a few hours on a Sunday afternoon planning what I will be wearing for the week. I have the time to try everything on, make adjustments, match belts and accessories, wash, press, and be innovative. I find everything in my closet and save so much money ( not to mention time in the morning). And I constantly receive compliments. It is in the deliberate planning that gives me the best casual, just threw this together ´ looks.
My seasonal wardrobe switchovers help to reduce that craving for new items. When I bring out my season-specific items every three months, it feels like getting a new wardrobe, but also seeing old favorites again. I realize how many beautiful clothes I already have!
James Clear’s Atomic Habits is truly life changing! It helped pull me out of a dark place and turned my life around. This, and Hal Elrod’s The Miracle Morning, and Brian Tracy’s No Excuses: The Power of Self Discipline. This is the Power Trio, in my opinion. Highly recommend, ladies! ❤
If we watch how children learn: they respond to fun, ease, natural curiousity, pleasure. I've worked in education for adults in a variety of contexts and also observed my own learning. Shame, guilt, punishment, sense of 'have to' will rarely be as sustainable as something that naturally motivates us to act from the heart with genuine enthusiasm.
You are the 2nd infkuencer I follow who has shown in a very concrete way, how to apply Atomic Habits to areas of life that are meaningful to me. I love getting all of these specific ideas and tips for building habits. Thank you for the tips and insights!
I think a railing (or a section of my closet - I don't have room for a railing lol) with clothes I want to challenge myself to wear that week would be a lot of fun - especially things I don't normally wear or don't wear together, to try to get more juice out of my wardrobe. One of the best ways I've found to combat the itch for something new is to dig deep in my closet and find something that I haven't worn in so long it feels new - so this would help with that, too!
I've started learning how to make my own clothes from material that I like that I buy from the opportunity shop. That way I can buy lovely fabric that suits me and make a style and colour that suits me.
I love the idea of a weekly rail. For me, just a super easy way to get ready for work, sort of like meal prepping, just grab and go. Saves so much time and personal head space energy.
Yes! Loved the comparison to meal prepping! Plus it’s a great way to practise getting better at putting together outfits and using different styling tools and techniques ❤️🙏🏻
Would you mind to share your house outfits? I am an American nanny that wants to look professional and presentable without sacrificing my comfort and wear appropriate fabrics and styles. Thank you in advance. BTW I am always walking with a stroller. I just enter in my 60 years. 💕
Thank you so much for watching! I always find myself adding small details when I want to stay comfy but also look presentable; that and then adding a smarter contrast especially to offset any more comfy or even lounge-y pieces I’m wearing. I find that good jewelry, a bit of makeup, a nice bag and a nice pair of shoes can really get me far! Or even a nice jacket like a blazer or trench coat with the outfit, even if the base layer is more comfy and casual 🙏🏻❤️ if you have Instagram and if you are interested I do share lots of daily outfit ideas over there, maybe it can give you a little inspiration! Have a beautiful Sunday! Kindly, Signe xx
I've heard a lot about Atomic Habits over the years, but I've never really given it a fair chance myself... I'm just more of a fiction person when it comes to reading, but considering the goals I have in mind for the future in my professional life, I'd consider this to be another nudge of encouragement and inspiration to eventually get this and read it for myself. Thank you for this well thought out video, Signe! 😊❤
My grandma is one of my style icons, she never wore leisure clothing (it didn't exist then!) and only wore fitted blouses/skirts, etc. not designer, not necessarily expensive but good quality and she always looked put together in a simple way that was always presentable in case someone dropped by unexpectedly. She was always tidy and took care of her clothes. I do not own anything like leisure pants, joggers, etc., the most casual item I own is a pair of jeans. I also think wearing elasticated waist/shapeless clothing is a licence to overeat and put on weight.
Thanks for the book recommendations! I checked out both books in audio from my local library. I really liked Dopamine Nation by Dr Anna Lembke, a researcher who studies addiction.
Thank you for another great video! I love them all and I love your color palette as well (I’m a soft summer too)! I have been interested in the book ‘Atomic Habits’ for a while so I might as well pick it up then! 👍🏻
I just read Atomic Habits too. A great read. Good overlay for your video. Some other help books may provide inspiration for the channel. I’ve noticed others take advantage of that😊 ❤️🇨🇦❤️

Who was the other one? Want to watch ❤
I’ve meal prepped for years. I love the idea of wardrobe prepping!!!
I loved Atomic Habits, but never really thought about applying the strategies to my wardrobe. Thanks for tying these 2 together!

Yes, I love doing my week rail. I don't have think about what to wear everyday.
That denim jacket would be a perfect sashiko/visible mending opportunity. I bet you could do something amazing with it!
