    Graduate geo working for a consultant from Botswana here and all you said is true. I've heard swear words flying around in meetings and site visits, I've had to make a decisive decision at 2am in the morning to commission drilling for a 1km geotechnical hole. Don't get me started on how my supervisor was always breathing down my my neck 24/7 hahaha. Having a back bone helps, be well rehearsed and outspoken with your thoughts and people take you serious. Keep up the good work Sbu

    I'm an Honours Geology grad at NMU, recently graduated this year and everyday while applying for these graduate programs I've been learning how to improve my CV. I'm just sitting at home now waiting for Jesus, it's kinda stressful but I'm trying not to break. I just found out about this about this channel today, never knew it could exist, and you're journey has been amazing. I am inspired.

    Hey mahn! Love your stuff. I just have a few quick questions: are there specific modules that one needs to do in Honours in order to get a better chance of being accepted into what you are currently doing? Also, how did you manage to get the internship opportunity that you are in? Did you get funding in Honours or did you have to go find it own your own?

    • @sibusisombonambi726
      @sibusisombonambi726  3 роки тому

      Hi Tebogo. Not really no, but obviously it'll be more beneficial for you to do modules that related to the speciality that you want to go into. However, if you'll be enrolled into a Graduate Program at the Mine, it should be enough to equip you to be competent for a Jnr Mine Geologist position. Hope that makes sense.
      For your second question, nope I applied in several mines while I was doing my Honours for an internship opportunity. Because I live in a mining area, I was accepted as a "Community Intern".

      @tebogogobile7231 3 роки тому +1

      Oh okay. It makes sense. I've always wanted to be a Geologist at a mine. I'm from Carletonville, so I might stand somewhat of chance then.
      When do you think I should start applying? Because I'm doing my Honours as we speak. And I'm just very anxious about it all
