Its kinda funny how everyone rims paradox as amazing developers because they do community streams and stuff but then you realise they make you pay £200 for automatic troop transport and transferring control of sieges.
Automatic troop transports was like 3 dollars on sale
and then they wonder why people pirate their games.
@@cageybee7221 the strat is to get the game on sale, then pirate the game with dlc, and copy all of the missing files into the genuine copy so you got dlc, and access to servers
Thing is they still make great games no matter which way you slice it, and it's not like the money they get from DLC is wasted - the game's been continually updated for 7 years now and so many systems have been changed and improved from the original to the point that maybe at best 20% of the current game is the unmodified original. Literally the only problem with Paradox is their DLC pricing policy and the fact they don't reduce the prices over time for some retarded reason. If they literally just reasonably priced the DLCs even when not on sale, this would not be an issue. Aside from that, they are some pretty amazing developers.
You're more than welcome to buy the base game and enjoy it. If you want the extra DLC content, you have to buy it.

This is why you pirate PDX games. I only bought CK2 and HoI4 because there were huge discounts so I paid ~60 euros each with their DLC, which is, I think, fair. But yeah, I pirated EU4 cuz I'm not spending 251,58€ in a game.

As someone who plays this without DLC, I physically hurt at the mention of the features that are locked behind a pay wall.
Quick explanation, an "Infante" in portuguese is the royal title below a prince, it's given to the son of the king/queen that isn't in the line of succession! In the middle ages, the term infante was used to signify ALL sons of a king but this concept changed eventually to signify only the sons that weren't in the line of succession

Dude, use cs.rin.ru to get the dlcs. I bought 5 of them and then i cracked the rest.
This is why I cheat the system and get EU3, similar game, just only has around 2 dlc and you have the complete game (you do not need the skinpacks)

Not sure if you ever found out, but actually thinks are easier without favors. Because everyone is automatically called into a war regardless, unless they have something like huge debt etc..
That means you don't need to wait forever to get a big ally to help you out as a minor..

The worst thing is they actually remove free feature. In the base game without patch you could transfert province to your vassal via diplo decision. They removed it in a patch and then added a dlc for the vassal management screen.

I’ve gotten almost 1,000 hours in EU4 just like this. I probably have another 1,500 played from when I pirated the game but I’ve actually gone back to 0 dlc since I’ve gotten a new computer.

I started playing before paradox made this a 250$ game, it was great fun, then they complete ruined it by doing what paradox does. It’s a shame I really enjoyed playing this game but now it’s actually worthless without the dlc

I don't have any DLC's and... It's hard to do some achivements, Back to the Piast for example.
If I recall, you can't even get countries to support your independence without DLC, so you have to fight Poland and its allies all by yourself as a tiny duchy.
