thanks for showing Mebane NC! i live there and trains big part of that town. never knew what it looked like going through, i just see the train never on the train lol
The current Charlotte station (Which I have been to 2 times, even though I live in the area) will actually CLOSE in 2018. It will be moved to a station called Gateway Station, which will also have LYNX Red Line, Amtrak, Silver Line, and Corridor trains. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_Station_(Charlotte,_North_Carolina)
I understand that Raleigh's new station will be opening soon. It is located in the middle of a "wye" shaped junction and it is capable of handling more trains than the Cabarrus St. station.

I've done this trip many times. NYP to CLT.
Takes you from the heart of the northeast, thru the rural south, to the New South.
Hey! I’m doing that exact same route!!
Any tips?!
@@nicolemartin2274 bring a blanket. It can get chilly inside the train.

I heard about that, that would be nice to get a new station there in Charlotte!

The new station is much needed, and can't wait to see it open!
Great stuff! I think I have crossed the Delaware River more in these videos than I ever have in the rest of my life?? LOL
Have you tooken Amtrak 30 out of Chicago to Dc? Nice shots and catches/power!
What do you mean, there is no Charlotte-Florence train, unless you go way up past Raleigh and transfer at Selma, which would be stupid.
Cary, NC, no e. And a lot of people in Raleigh? Yep. I'm from Raleigh and took the 6:15 a.m. train to Charlotte - NO people at all. Yay!

Be careful photographing federal property. Especially military installations. You can go to prison / face high fines.
