during my teen age i studied karate only for a few months. I never liked kalarippayattu then,infact i used to ridicule it and considered it as worthless. But i failed to realize then that i had no knowledge about the subject i was speaking about ie kalarippayattu. But now after an open minded research on kalaraippayttu,i am absolutely convinced that ,kalarippayattu is the best form of martial art in the world. A well trained kalari abhyasi can strike from any angle, he can easily evade any attack ,no street fighter can win over a well trained kalari abhyasi.The problem is that most of us are completely unaware about its importance and history. Same is the case with Ayurveda and Sidha,these are the best form of healthcare system much better than modern medicine (AS PRACTICED TODAY).but we are never taught about these in our school or college days. We are programmed to appreciate only what comes from the west
