If you do decide to go, fly and rent. Pounding miles on the highway is not fun at all. The scenery doesn't change much at all. You really don't notice much difference from one state to the next. There is so much to consider. Time off from work, can hubby go, cost, fly and rent, ride 500 miles a day...It will take a lot of thought. Good luck in your decision. Until then, ride and stay safe up there in Ohio!
I road an FZ-07 from California to Sturgis and back. The difference for me was that we also had a car following us so I didn’t have to worry about luggage. As for the ride, yes you are on the freeway a lot and riding for hours every day, but the memories I made along the way were well worth it. In fact, some were more memorable than Sturgis itself.
I have no experience with renting a motorcycle but I am going to suggest that you fly out and rent a bike. Because hopefully you will get to have a great with Amanda and maybe still have some vacation time left so y'all can go have another adventure. 💯✌️🤟🤘
Leave for Sturgis the 27th for 3 weeks on the 2018 geezer glide ultra-couch, lots of storage. My weekend moto camping/ fishing trips bike 2006 KLR650 has soft bags I take on n off, still a lot of storage.
Love your rides and your bike! I also have a 2020 T120 Black and agree, the small windshield does nothing to protect you on highways. I recently did a trip to Portland and got a bigger one on amazon that made a huge difference (but it looks weird on the bike imo) What kind of tank bag are you using?😊
For those of you who often experience fatigue after touring, you need to look at some of the tips below. By doing these few things, it is guaranteed that your touring activities will be much more enjoyable. 1. Make sure the motor is in top condition Excellent condition of the motorbike is a mandatory requirement for you before taking a tour. Do not let you ride a motorbike that is in an unhealthy state on a long trip. Especially with the quality of the suspension that is sober. A motorcycle with a suspension that is not optimal will actually make the rider tired on the trip. Motor for touring itself can actually be any motorbike. You can use old school motorbikes to the latest automatic motorbikes for touring. The important thing is that it is in good condition, and that you know how to ride a motorbike, how to ride an automatic motorbike or whatever motorbike you are going to use. 2. Get enough rest before driving In addition to an excellent motorbike, getting enough rest before touring is a panacea for your post-trip condition. With a prime body condition, long trips will not make you tired. 3. Your sitting position determines the quality of your ride The correct sitting position will make you last longer on the road. It would be better if the position of your feet clamped the gas tank if you were driving a clutch motorcycle with the fuel tank in front of you. In addition, the way to ride an automatic motorbike on the derivative when touring is to clamp the seat with your inner thigh. In addition, a sitting position that is too backward or too forward will also make you tired easily. Avoid this position. Make sure to sit in the central position of the motorcycle seat. With the right sitting position, you will not be tired in continuing the journey. 4. Your posture and arms must match It's not just a sitting position bro! Good posture such as a body that is not stooped will greatly help facilitate the journey. In addition, you should not do the straight arm position. Make sure your arms are relaxed so that your body can also relax while driving. Ideally your arm forms a 30 degree angle from the side of the outer arm. This angle will help the arm absorb shocks when your bike is on rocky roads. 5. Good braking makes you ride better Good braking is to use both brakes with an ideal portion. The ideal braking portion is 60% front brake and 40% rear brake. With good braking, not only safety is maintained, the condition of the body will always be excellent. Get into the habit of braking regularly. Do not apply the brakes too spontaneously because in addition to draining energy, this will endanger other drivers behind you. 6. Beware of potholes As much as possible avoid potholes. If you have no other choice because your lane is flat with potholes, giving in to slowing down is a good thing. Therefore, keeping a distance from the vehicle in front of you is mandatory. 7. Obey traffic signs In addition to all the points above, obeying traffic signs is something you must do. Because all existing regulations have been designed for the safety of motorists. If you violate traffic signs and an accident occurs, all the tips above will be useless. Therefore, make sure to always obey all existing traffic rules.
Great day for riding 🏍️ A roadtrip to Montanna would be cool, but yes really need a different cruiser type comfy bike with lots of storage if your doing long trips like that. I would look at maybe renting two baggers from where you are and you both ride. I would definitely want to ride with someone else for that distance. Great vid with your friend at the end 👍
Well Gene it seem like you have weighed your options an know what your working with. If it was me I would wait to do that trip whit my spouse an more time off. I’m currently on a whole summer long bike trip from FL to TN,NC,VA an we’ll see from there. Camping out an living off the bike is tuff for long periods but it’s still been pretty cool. Some days I ride an some days I just chill an enjoy the state parks an have some beers. Enjoy your summer I’ll be flipping back to your channel lol EasyE out!
Long trip on a motorbike is very fun can also get a new experience in driving, enjoy the trip, listen to your favorite music, if the fuel runs out turn to the gas station, take a break for a while and continue the journey. Life for ride girls... nice preety awesone vlog 👍👍👍
Storage can be factor for taking a big trip. My longest trip I am planning is a little over 500 miles, the most I have ever done is like 320 and that was not in one complete ride so shall be interesting lol

Good luck! I’m sure you’re gonna have a blast. It’s about 500 miles out to BRO and I love that length for a trip!
@@OneDownGeneUp well I was worn out from 320, before that 143 mils was about as much as rode in day that took lik3 4 hours just riding our back roads.
Don't do it. Take a vacation together 👍🏻
I like your thinking!
