Ruth, what a great style of video. I'd love for you to do this kind of thing regularly, regarding what fabric and patterns to use to mimic high street designs. I've throughly enjoyed watching 😊
Lovely vlog Ruth with some super ideas. That jacket has really stolen my heart! I normally buy things from Toast in the sale, but I might have to put the jacket on my birthday list.
It's a real stunner isn't it! I had a lucky find in Seasalt yesterday, a pair of dungarees/jumpsuit had just gone into the sale when I popped in and I got a great bargain 🥰
Hi Ruth, what a great vlog, some lovely ideas which are bang on trend, I think you will be sewing the shirt for the challenge but I think you’ll do the jacket another time (it is beautiful), can’t wait to see what you make. ❤😊
Oh the Toast jacket is beautiful. I’ve made the Hovea jacket in the Ahoy colour of the M&M padded fabric and love it. I also have the ecru colour and you could use that and do some yellow hand stitching. Using the free Paola workwear jacket pattern by fabrics-store would also let you enter sew frugal. Great vlog.
Brilliant suggestions Ruth…. Think you could probably use a Kantha quilt for the jacket too…. At least, I hope it’s possible because I have one that I don’t use any more so my plan is to turn it into a jacket and as I own the Ilford pattern, you’ve just given me the perfect plan
Oh that's a wonderful idea! I always keep a look out for them in the charity shops but I've not been lucky enough to find one yet. I'd love to know how yours turns out, ooo exciting plans 🥰
Hi Ruth, that was very interesting with some really good suggestions. Can i just say, what a lovely soothing voice you have. You should do voice overs. 😊
I actually think that soft primrose really suits you. Oh but that jacket!!!! I really love jackets and have already made the Ready to Sew Julien jacket and the Peppermint magazine West End jacket. I am really, really tempted to try that design as a slow stitching project - not that I don't already have a load of ideas in the pipeline but I definitely think this one will keep fizzing at the back of my head!!!!
I love your ideas Ruth and I wish I could make them all! I do hope to achieve 1 as I have plenty of fabric with yellow design or lemons 😂 My eldest daughter has a sundress she wants me to recreate so I must have a look! I like the dress you suggested for myself. I look forward to seeing all the makes x
Thank you Alison 🥰 I went and tried the dress on yesterday and it's just as lovely in real life. I think I might change the sleeves to a less puffy shape if I do make this one but that's just my preference. The dress shape and style is gorgeous x

Thank you for such lovely feedback 😊 x
Lovely ideas Ruth I’m think it’s 50/50 Ilford Jacket or the shirt of course I could be totally wrong look forward to seeing your make 💕💕🥰
You know me well Heather 🥰 xx

Hi Annette, that's very kind of you to say. It sounds fun but I've no idea how you would get into that kind of work 🥰

I know exactly what you mean, I can't stop thinking about it either. It is so beautiful and making it yourself would be such a special make 🥰
