Steamboat, CO: Sundown Express - Take 2
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- This Doppelmayr Uni high-speed quad replaced a Yan triple in 1992, where the former lift operates as the Canyon Quad at Killington. This is the main entrance lift to the Sunshine pod, but there are some killer trails off this lift, like the lift line and the O'Clock runs. A Heron-Poma double called "Priest Creek" ran right next to this lift, but it was taken down in 2021. Only the towers still stand. Chair spacing has been adjusted on this lift, so there are now 115 chairs, but still 19 towers. Estimated speed is 910 fpm.

I miss the bubbles on this chair. It was always a great hideout on stormy days.
i totally didn't know this lift had bubbles until i found on lift blog.
This lift kinda gives me a bit of nostalgia because I grew up riding the Dipper Express at Heavenly Mountain, and Dipper Express has exposed bullwheels in both terminals.
Same. The exposed bullwheels are just so cool.
Dude this thing fast for an old UNI
Faster than most!
Once got stuck for 45 mins on this lift, we saw a patrol ski-mobile go up and come back down with a person, they likely fell near the top off the chair.
Yikes!
I wonder where those removed chairs are going.
Not sure. I was thinking the same about Christie Peak Express.
