Anomaly is for experienced Stalker players. You couldn't even complete a tutorial quest. Maybe you should try playing SoC or CoP first to get the basics.
And if you feel that gunplay sucks you can try playing with Gunslinger mod, which only improves that aspect of the game and doesn't affect anything else.
The amount of Modding you need to do to get the original games where they play like a decent shooter is something mosdt folksa seemed to have forgotten. I can only imagine how unfinished, unbalanced and straight up outdated the new game has to feel in it's vanilla state. And that is assuming it is fixed and doesn't run like absolute garbage anymore. Needless to say I do not think these games should be played unmodded, regardless how much fanboys try and argu e for it. Currently replaying Clear Sky and that even now feels like an unstable and unfinished pos, coming off of Shadow of Chernobyl.

I think I played 5 minutes of Shadow of Chernobyl like a decade ago.
