At some point, cramped seat conditions will cause competitors to offer more comfortable seating and BA will have to respond. Or at least that is the theory of free markets. :)
+Francis Bagbey You'd hope so. I think we are living at the nadir of air travel, at least in comfort terms. Hopefully in the future things will improve - at least just a little.
Great video Paul! I have had several pleasant flights on BA long haul service from the West Coast to LHR. I enjoy your choice of music and content, job well done keep up the great job!
Enjoyable video again. The prices on that M&S food and drink broacher were a bit steep. £1.80 for a can of coke, day light robbery. I can get half a pint of beer for less than that.
Good flight? All my BA flights are currently T3 so until LAX I don't think I have any T5 flights and this is December. Is Basel a good choice as thinking for a Saturday day trip in September but really don't like Geneva.
Bravo Bravo another superb trip report by the main man Mr Paul ! It would be good to get a idea of your next trip via the description below , give us something to look forward to .... :D
Joshua Fleming Thanks Joshua! I like to keep it a surprise. (And sometimes I have a backlog of reports and decide only on the day which one I'll publish to get a good mix!). Follow me on Snapchat @pauls_trips to follow me in real time and you'll get a flavour of what's coming!
What airport do you use in Basel to fly to Heathrow? We have a cruise that ends in Basel and American Airlines offers two airport codes - EAP and BSL. Thank you.
That must be confusing for the people who works at that airport you were going to. We're lucky to have two airports in Chicago that can be easily distinguished from each other. Midway can only handle the smaller airplanes and go to destinations in or near America while Ohare can handle anything.
+briansivley2001 It's not that confusing. In Western Europe borders are pretty much invisible and quite arbitrary and it's not unusual for the same place to have several names. Basel is one - people call it Bâle or Basel or Basle depending on where they come from!
Another great video Paul. I suppose that all BA domestics and short hauls now have a very familiar feel to them, since many routes ascend over the same landmarks, and none serve free refreshments which were sometimes nice to anticipate. Everything offered now is what's featured in the attractive menu which is identical on all such flights, and whose content is not likely to change. However, the entrance to the 'First Wing' lounge looks wonderful and your taxi-way mash-ups are legend. I'll take those any day, lol. Nicely done and thank you.
+jasminderpinder Yep, I hear you. I've committed to fly BA a lot less on short haul now, and I have a mix of different airlines now booked for the rest of the year. Things will really pick up in July when I visit the USA. Next year I am aiming for elite status with either SkyTeam or Star Alliance and checking out some unusual carriers.
Did you notice at the start you said Gatwick First lounge at Heathrow terminal 5 ? Even though its a tiny novelty, I'm still absolutely loving using the first wing at LHR. Makes the economy experience that much more enjoyable for me. I know you said that you won't fly BA anymore for Europe hops , I sort of have the same feeling, but will use them in Europe when LHR is better suited to my times, though I don't mind jumping on Easyjet or Ryanair or some other airline. I'm looking at Tel Aviv this year and BA's prices are just insane compared to Monarch or Easyjet. Anyhow, Looked like a wonderful day to take off from LHR, nice clear skies, smooth climb out. So far I have purchased nothing from the BOB menu from 11 flights lol, have you bought anything ? Nothing like paying 1.80 for a can of coke lol. Great video as always Paul.
+When I Travel The World LOL. I actually said "Galleries" but I kind of mumbled... I haven't and won't buy anything off the BoB menu. If they offered hot meals I'd consider it. I'll just pinch from the lounge or buy before I travel. I do too many BA vids so I need to mix stuff up over the next year. I've only used the First Wing once, it's good but not much to get excited about tbh! Still deciding whether to go with SkyTeam or *A next year....
LOL now I listen to it again, you do say galleries First lounge, just sounded very similar the first time around. I do the same, fill up in the lounge before flying, and them i'm not in need to any food on the short flights. For me One World is just more convenient when fly out, My Main destination is LAX and I hate flying United there and DL I need to connect, so having BA & AA is probably the main reason I stick with One World. Hope we can do that Joint report soon !
+When I Travel The World Hope so too. I've got your email but I'll have a proper look once I get better internet (in Lanzarote at the moment so it's patchy). The OW First lounge in LAX is my favourite I've been to so far. United really don't appeal to me on long haul, their business seat is rubbish.
Hey Paul, i like your trip reports! Especially all from or to Germany, because i came from there. When i came to London what should i vistit? except the normal Tourist spots like Westminster and Piccadilly Circus. I hope you know what i mean, my englich is not the very best
+Hanami25 Thanks Hanami! Well, here are my top three things to do which aren't big tourist spots. One, do the Thames Clipper, a public water bus which takes you down under Tower Bridge. Two, go to the London Transport museum near Covent Garden. Three, go and see changing of the guard - but not at Buckingham Palace, instead go to Horseguards Parade - it's a much quieter and more unusual ceremony and involves horses!
I think all the quality cut backs are a subliminal revenge for the potato famine. The gnome from Dublin started off with chopping the crew salaries so half are working on 50pc less than the others (or there abouts), madness. Now less leg room, more seats across on 777, pay for food. What next.
Enjoyed this menue was very good, Have been to Basel many times mostly on a coach,
I like boarding music. No one has it anymore. The part of France is Alsace Lorraine.
I prefer the front of the aircraft as you are able to deboard much quicker and easier and food selection is more plentiful.
MCMODMASTER MC But BA doesn't offer any Snacks on shorthaul flights
Another good video
+Bob Bisset Cheers Bob!
+Bob Bisset Cheers Bob! 👍🏻👍🏻

Another class video paul
All the best to you
+Martin Barrett Cheers Martin, reading the comments on my videos is the best motivation!
Great video, love the music! Very happy I started following you. All the best!
+Brian Utting Thanks Brian!
You're so welcome! Hope all is well on the your side of the pond.
Another really good video Paul, good work. Keep up the good work 😊
Really nice video and cool tram at the end! 👌
Great video Paul! I have had several pleasant flights on BA long haul service from the West Coast to LHR. I enjoy your choice of music and content, job well done keep up the great job!
loving the intro!
I love Basel; thanks for sharing; hugs from Portugal
I prefer the front of the aircraft for seating. It's quieter, and you deplane quicker. Paul, why do you prefer the back?
Enjoyable video again. The prices on that M&S food and drink broacher were a bit steep. £1.80 for a can of coke, day light robbery. I can get half a pint of beer for less than that.
Wonderful video looking fresh there enjoy
+Ultimate Aviation Videos HD Milosevic Thanks! 👍🏻

+Nachito sanz Basel is a good choice. It's got great transport which is essential. I actually prefer t3 to t5, if I'm honest!
Bravo Bravo another superb trip report by the main man Mr Paul ! It would be good to get a idea of your next trip via the description below , give us something to look forward to .... :D

Will do , until then safe travels :D
The back of the aircraft freaks me out ...and it means it'll take me forever to get out!
Great video! Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻👍🏻✈
I prefer to sit over the wing, I. quite a nervous flier and I try to convince myself that it will be a smoother ride in the middle of the aircraft!
+H Masoum7 It is sometimes smoother - that's true! But you don't get such a good view...
What airport do you use in Basel to fly to Heathrow? We have a cruise that ends in Basel and American Airlines offers two airport codes - EAP and BSL. Thank you.
They are the same airport.
@@Paul_Lucas Thanks very much!

i remember last time i flew into basel it was a really really long approach pattern did u have this too?
I like wing seat, what about you
Do you know what the currency Avios is that is shwoed in the BA Pricelist besides the British £ ?
+GJGBTL231 Not sure what the question is - can you rephrase? What's a BA Pricelist?
Oh sorry I meant the menu you have to pay on board (M & S on board...)
+GJGBTL231 Avios is the currency of the BA Exec Club. It's what other frequent flyer clubs call air miles.
Thank you very much!!
Very nice vídeo!!! Obs: You look like the Kimi Raikkonen #LIKE
Maybe the Gold Bar wasn't busy because you were drinking before 8:00AM! 😂
+bradbel Just one champagne at breakfast is alright, isn't it? 😂
No, l like the front or closest to middle
I prefer the back of the aircraft after all you don't see aircraft reverseing into moutains do you.
Could you do El Al economy from New York
+Blaze Does Things They only go to Tel Aviv so as I'm based in London that would be quite difficult and expensive!
Great stuff....thanks from me to you....
Planes always look nicer on the exterior.

Muito bom
