this is the best football channel in the internet right now -- about the video: that was a wild ride, from the best in one category to the worst in the next, and repeat
@@PythagorasinBoots He wasn't the "worst" in any category. People like you like absolutes and thd world is not that simple. I wish he would have pointed out that the leg injuries may have forced Dembele to try and alter his shooting mechanics and what we saw this year, especially from long range, way an aberration. He did score 14 goals in 2018 and 11 in 2021. More probably just a matter of lowering his head and getting his knee over the ball, something he can correct in the preseason, but would not have had a chance to do last year with no preseason. Also, tactically, he could be played as a false 9 with his incisive through passes if Raphinha plays the right wing. Heck, Koeman used him as a striker sometimes in 2021. He is an extremely versatile player who has yet to put the full scope of his talents together, sadly.
Yeah he’s a prodigy for sure - well was a prodigy. He’s still a surpreme dribbler and creative merchant but I just wish he could up his shooting tekkers.
@@PythagorasinBootsWhenever someone uses the word "merchant" in describing a player, one can hear sarcasm dripping off the page. If you are going to cover a subject, try to resist the urge to use dismissive terms about the subject. "Merchant" is one of those terms like "race card" that connotes a certain bias against the person. It is beneath the dignity of a serious scholar, which, I presume, you want to be seen as.
Woah ⚡️⚡️⚡️, the outstanding fact with dembele is he’s ability to play both left and right feet perfectly well Now raphinha is in barca, dembele can move to the left or move to the right depending.
He has played as a left winger in Barca, Remember dembele left wing, Malcolm right wing 2019 season ?? He played left wing 2020 too, also beginning of 2021
love love love this player, entering his prime now hoping he takes the leap but scared he might be the greatest "streets will never forget" player instead. great vid as usual!
Great analysis once again. Ousmane Dembele is one of my favorite players, this young man h as crazy talent and is still only twenty-four. Beside your top notch dive into his abilities and attributes you mentioned something that seems to have been overlooked; his rapid progression that did not facilitate a more gradual developmental curve, rapid moves from Rennes to BVB to Barca..... a Barca close to the end of an era. Pretty brave and honest of you to mention that the Messi at that time likely wasn't the best role model, didn't train as well as he should and that set the precedent of a less than ideal training regime under Senior Ernesto Valverde who had no intention of challenging that older set of highly decorated and powerful players. I theorize that as such an explosive player, the conditioning program Barca ran at the time didn't serve Dembele or any player that was rapid, so he suffered. As they moved away from such tame training sessions it led to many players suffering muscle and soft tissue injuries. Rant aside, I'm glad Xavi is an advocate for him. I'm not convinced Barca has all of the necessary personnel to really let such a chaotic attacker loose.... gonna be interesting watching his and their evolution.
Thank you for putting light on the great talent that is Ousmane Dembele. He’s is heavily overlooked and underrated but understandably so due to his number of injuries keeping him out of the game and hindering is development.
Ngl I started watching you this week and I’m almost done watching all your videos. The way you breaking down everything is just perfect. I hope you can do an analysis on Jadon Sancho in the future

Thank you for all your videos, its hard to find player analysis as deep and complete as yours. I would like to know if a amine gouiri video is planned, even though i know these kind of comments are a bit exhausting for you to answer them all.

I don´ t really understand why any team offered him a contract this summer. Maybe because of the past injures? This player is a diamond, he just needs to improve the decision-making.
supposedly he had offers, but not good enough and understandably so because of his poor commitment and there are even rumors he is not right in the head. The fact that he was constantly injured for the whole of his contract except for his last 6 months when he is free to negotiate with any club shows he was never serious at barcelona. Apparently he behaved well only in the last 6 months when before he had a reputation of arriving late to training. Add this to the circus him and his agent created with his renewal and there is your answer why no big club was serious in recruiting Dembele.
Very good work once again! On my side if I agree with the killer crossing/passes after he's improved this year. I feel from him a kind of inconsistency in short passing accuracy and sometimes in first touch. I remember him missing easy short passing but maybe he will fix this next season.
We need one on fati next! We haven’t seen him play a lot yes but he’s definitely got potential and clearly passes the eye test. I’m excited for his future and curious what you’d analyze from him
