Girl dont ever feel bad for someone wanting to help you organize or anything. It could be a part of their love language and there is no judgement. They want to help in a way that alleviates something from your plate. I told my sister I would come to her house if she ever wanted me to help her organize.

Friendships have seasons too. I have some friends from childhood, high school, college, and adulthood. But at sometimes they are more prevalent than others. But, friends at any point are a blessing. Our chosen family.

I think it's really important to have updated your space now. So that there is an aspect of your apartment to look forward to experiencing once you return from all the travelling.
For me coming back to a messy house instantly undoes the benefit of a holiday. So I really try to make a point of leaving a space tidy. Then the travel can truly feel like a reset when I get back. ❤
Hey! I am so excited to hear about your trips. It sounds like such an exciting year. I think the reading/cozy nook sounds amazing. I hope setting it up makes the space feel more your own. Do you buy souvenirs on your trips? I was just thinking surrounding yourself with happy, empowering souvenirs from trips could help the space feel more happy. It sounds like there are a lot of sad and tragic memories connected to the space so maybe bringing in some pieces from happy and empowering may help you feel more happy, safe and at peace in your apt? When I go on trips I like to get an art or decor piece so I can surround myself with beautiful things that aesthetically make me happy but also remind me of fun times and wonderful memories. @@SamanthaMarchxo I love photos - they add so much personality and life to a space. My partner got the idea to get art/something from each trip from a friend he made while on a trip. My partner has travelled all over so we have a small Turkish rug, a painting of an anhk on papyrus, photographs of Hawaii from a local photographer etc. I love that you got a puzzle in Ireland. You could also get books. I know you read on your kindle a lot but if you like physical books that is a fun momento. We got "A vindictation of the rights of women" when we went to the Women's Rights National Park in Seneca Falls, NY. Haha, we even got a magnet of Hoover Dam when we went to Vegas so we could have a dam magnet. 😆 But yeah whereever we look in our space we can see things we got on trips or pics we took on trips. I'm sad I haven't been able to do as much international travel yet, but seeing these items and pictures helps me be happy and grateful for the trips I have been able to take. But yeah it doesn't have to be art - it could be photos, puzzles, magnets, mugs whatever. But having something to bring back can add so much joy and personality to your space. ❤

I have always had the same mentality towards apartments, that there’s no need to decorate for a year or so of being there. But now that I own a house I’m working so hard to switch that mindset and I’m definitely enjoying my space more because it feels like mine!

So excited about the Maine trip but i can't come... I'm working all weekend 😢 I will try for the next one. Love seeing both of you guys hanging out and its nice to see a friend help you organize your space and know what you want. Its a sweet gesture but i bet it's just a part of their love language. I used to organize my friends rooms all the time.

Hi Sam!! I totally understand the feeling of not having friendships from growing up, I'm the same way. The only friend I have know since that time frame is my husband. It's all about the friendships that you cultivate and cherish no matter how long you've known one another ❤

Your video really helped me not feel alone! I totally agree with clutter space means a clutter mind! That’s me! Friends offer to help but I haven’t accepted yet. I’m trying to set small goals to work on the house and yard but it’s hard! I need you and Angie to come help me, but I’m sure I would say no even if offered. Also about friendships, I have friends since 6th grade that I cherish and I have friends that I made on our Ireland trip that I cherish! Love you Samantha, you really do inspire me to get up off the couch and keep trying!🥰

We all have strengths and weaknesses. And order isn't one size fits all. I have adhd and one of the things that branches into is that if I don't see a thing, it ceases to exist. I fully forget it exists and may not reach for it or even remember I have it. So when I make a set up, important things need to be visible. So even if things are organized, they may not look like that aesthetically pleasing sort of order. And things also have to be on hand because if I get an impulse to go something and I have to get up and get a thing from elsewhere I may just not do it.
All that makes organizing a daunting task because there's a lot to consider. Which means that if I have to do it I can put it off for months or years.
I love things being organized but I don't like the process of organizing so it's a constant challenge for me. Angie did a great job, I love your new setup! It's so fun seeing all your trips/staycations. I'm living my travel dreams through you Sam.😀 I'm really hoping to get a spot on the Maine trip. I hope you have a fantastic weekend!!

I do the same thing future living and hoarding I think I’ve got ADHD but I’m not diagnosed so organising is like foreign language to me I wish I was so much better at it it’s something I’ve to work on!!
I used to feel sad when i lost friends through disconnections/changes of interests etc. Then one day my brother said to me don't feel bad....we make friends wherever we go, and friends will come and go constantly. Its always changing and life is like that, up and down. Eversince, i look forwards meeting people and see it as a bonus when i gain a new friend.

Watching you getting emotional about friendships made me emotional. I can't hold on to friends, I don't know why, most of the time I feel it's me but I can't think of a reason why... In highschool I didn't have many friends, I knew a lot of people but most weren't exactly close friends, and then I got pregnant at 19 so my world changed, a lot. At work I tend to make friends fast, people often think of me as funny but I'm an introvert so I don't like to go out much and they do, so, idk... I'm 35 now and my best friend is my husband, we do almost everything together with our two girls and sooometimes once in a blue moon I have drinks after work with coworkers. I've learned to accept it and be ok with it.
I can't imagine someone in your position who got divorced, lost your dog/best friend and have no family close where you live. You're lucky to have all those "new" friendships and the amazing community you've built. My heart goes out to those who are literally alone.

My best friends came to me later. I still have one friend from high school I still talk to but we are not best friends. Best friends are best friends regardless of when they came to you!
So excited for you to come out to the Hamptons. There's what they call the "Air Train" at JFK and it takes you to Jamaica Station (the biggest station for switching trains, most stop there) where you can take the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) it's not too difficult to navigate. There is an MTA app that can give you the times of trains and where you need to switch, if you need it. It let's you know if it's an off peak or peak train. If you need help lmk, I'd be happy to help!

14:12 Recognizing that’s not your thing is one thing. Learning to genuinely say thank you instead of “you don’t have to” or “don’t worry about it” or “I’ll get to it” is another. I’m not saying you don’t say thank you, but this is what my Mom does, and I’m 48 lol, she makes excuses and what I’ve always said is “Mom shut up and say thank you” then she’ll “oh put a lid on it” and we laugh 😂 because I want my Mom to say thank you even though she is grateful in the moment. I hope this makes sense. It’s the excuses we tell ourselves to not do something or procrastinate but seeing someone help and just saying thank you is a different way of thinking. ❤❤❤😘🇨🇦
It is always a big sense of gratification when you get a room completed don't think of it as you need to do your whole apartment if you need to think of it as one wall at a time

You should try to see if you can find a Bojangles in NC. I havent lived there since 2001 but wherever i go to Charlotte airport i always get one of their chicken biscuits.
I've never had it!
We used to live in SC and a Bojangles chicken biscuit was a tradition everytime my husband and I took a road trip. Delicious and is way better than Chick Fil A.
I’m 70 and I’ve never had school friends, always been to shy even to this date. I’ve always felt the same way, what’s wrong with me why don’t I have those types of friendships. In my adult life I’ve had adult friends come and go which does make me sad where I just don’t like the feeling it leaves so I don’t have any now. My hubby is my best friend. You’re so young and fabulous and sincere, who wouldn’t want to be besties with you.❤ We will be coming next month to Vegas, my grandson is turning 21 and he asked me if I would take him to Vegas, of course I said yes. His parents are coming and he’s bringing a friend to hang out with. We told him he just needs to have lunch or dinner with us then he could go do his thing, I know he doesn’t want to hang out with us old farts. Any suggestions you can give me to pass on to him, he would love to go to one of those pool parties on a rooftop? I told him I had no idea about getting into one of those.😂😂 What would you recommend for him to do on his first trip to Vegas.
aw totally understand this! and how exciting for his birthday! Some fun rooftops - Ole Red, Beer Park, BREW Dog. Fun day clubs- Tao, Encore Beach, Ayu. Fremomt Street is a fun vibe too any different from the strip!
@@SamanthaMarchxo Thank you for the recommendations. I told him seeing it on TV is one thing, told him pool parties are quite expensive for guys and so are night clubs. He’ll see😂 First evening we told him he had to hang with us cause we wanted him to go with us to Fremont Street after we get back to the strip he and his friend can go on by themselves. He’s in college and this coming fall he’s a senior and he plays baseball there. My only grandchild and he’s my pride and joy and such a good young man and very handsome if I say so myself.🥰

The living in the future is a trauma response. You sacrificed a lot of yourself when you chose marriage, invetro, staying in a small town. Those are usually made in the forever mindset. I’m similar. I don’t like roots because they tend to get swept out from under me. For a long time I was proud that my whole life fit into a tiny uhaul.
