@@tinyguy9398 I was bummed after I bought the soundtrack and that alternate version was on it... I was hoping for the TV version. 20years later I still haven't gotten over it.😶🙃🤷🏾♂️😶

"We can talk on the internet" I forgot the internet was around in 1995, I dont imagine my parents had it yet at that time. I assume that line wasn't in the Japanese version which would have probably been like 1993.
sorry on your loss. This song makes me sad thinking Amy might be gone for good. In fact most of the songs were sad. Carry On, Rainy Day Man, My Only Love.....
OMG! This is so sad! I burst into tears everytime she holds up her Mercury pen in front of her face. I love both versions of "Only A Memory Away". You should really do all the DiC dub songs scenes in high quality!
Dedicated to AMY acted by KAREN in DIC, This Ep. Is Extremely Important because the 5 Scouts get new and more POWERFUL WANDS from Luna; but even though Amy got hers separately at the Airport by Rini and Darien, AMY IS THE VERY FIRST/1ST SCOUT to use the new power; and KAREN BERNSTEIN REALLY PUMPS UP THE VOLUME WHEN SHE SHOUTS "MERCURY STAR 🌟 🤩 POWERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!" @SailorMoonTVBlogspot I wish I didn't have to repeat myself for the 3rd time, but there are 2 versions of Only a Memory Away. This version on this video was NOT released on the CD.
I love this song so much. My friend moved away two weeks ago and I'm still sad. but He might get to see me for thanksgiving, I'm only a 4 hour drive away from him. :(
welp. i've had the midi version of this song sitting on my computer for 10 years. started researching it today only to find that it's not an OST song, it's not available in japanese... and not even cleaned up from sounds in the anime. too bad because the singing is really something
I love this version. Just wish they could do it without the voices, especially rini's. she's so annoying. Plus she's rude as well. Calling their gift cheesy. She used her "kitty" to make a chessy gift. She may be young but she's a supposed princess. she needs to grow up. But her voice is awful in general. she's just a brat.
What's with DiC and their music? Everytime they put an episode on television with a song, they release the same song on a CD and it sounds so much different! THey did the same thing with She's got the power and it's kinda annoying. The only song that sounds the same on both versions is The Power of Love. Anyone understand what I'm saying here?
I actually had a friend that moved away..when i was little like abt 6 she travels all over the world and i think about her😔😔😔i miss her a bunch though and hope we can see each other again someday❤❤
you alsoe have to consider her age. In body and mind she is 5years old, althought her actuall age is 800+. But since she stoped aging in body and mind she dont know how to reason. For a five year old not trying to keep you is meaner then to let the person go and live its life. So in rinis mind the girls are mean for not trying to keep Ami.
@xena1fan Aah I'll just stick to DiC and original. ;p Sugar's Rini really puts me off of Cwi so much. But meh everyone has their opinions and I def only like DiC and original as far as btwn English and sub. Although the Korean version was hacked and slashed even more it's kinda neat to watch only mainly because of the voice acting. The Italian is also great as well as Greek. :3
Oh Starry Night is slower and Only A Memory Away is faster on the CD. I prefer the CD version of Only A Memory Away because the rhythm has that sense of urgency that should have been used here to enhance the scene. Though I prefer the TV version of Oh Starry Night. Not only is the tempo a bit faster than its CD counterpart, they key is also a pitch higher.
At the Very End when she sings"...awayyyyy... " and 4 Scouts SCREAM 😱 😱 😱 😱!!!!; I expect to see and hear the commercial bumper with 5 second music 🎶 theme clip, and the male announcer say," SAILOR MOON 🌙 will be right back!!"; and the 1994 cereal commercial to play next LOL 😆! O.K.!! SAT. FEB.25, 2024A.D.!!!!!
I actually love her slight American accent as she’s singing this (who is singing this?!) - it’s a beautiful song, okay so some person who was in charge of stuff didn’t like this version but what does that person know?!
@xena1fan Oh I'm fully aware they did but I kinda feel like if I want it the same I'll just watch the original. I like how it was different so I'm not just watching the same thing. But I never insult the original. ;p It's awesome too. I actually love both DiC and original in different ways (No Cwi please xD). :3 The only thing about DiC I liked more was the transitions and effects; it just spruced it up a bit. I wish Toei had those. :/
Isn't there a version of this song without the voice actors, sound effects, etc in it? And I don't mean the one on the actual soundtrack that is so different it's almost unrecognizable D:
They had to cut so much from the DiC dub because it was geared towards kids and in Japan it was more geared towards young adults. Keeping that in mind there's I think Japan's standards for children's programming is more open then that of North Americas. I hope that make scence. I for one think both have a place I grew up with the dub but now that I'm older seen the original I prefer that one but I think if I saw the origninal as a kid I'd been creeped out by so much and wouldn't watch it.
To people bashing Rini/Chibiusa here, did you forget her age? She's only about 5 in body and mind, remember? (Technically 900 or so according to the manga, but spent most of that time in suspended animation.) Basically Rini thinks the girls are being mean to Amy by letting her go so easily and not saying goodbye in person. Children tend to see things in black and white only until they get older and see the greys. Goodness, don't be so harsh on a kindergartener...
I always thought Rini was so annoying as a kid, and 25 years later I still think she's so rudeeee. I understand her not understanding why the girls didn't come to say good-bye to Amy, but to say that they probably just got her a cheap gift at the drug store??!?!? The girl holds nothing back.
The Dic Actually Edited The Seatbelt Onto Ami Mizuno/Amy Anderson On The Show Themselves And The original japanese version Did not have A seatbelt Ami/Amy In Their Version Of The Show And neither did the new Viz Media company version of sailormoon did not have It either .
I really wish ami made her own desision and just moved on on what she wants to do and not what her friends want to dobut of course she has to help her friends but what about her
I feel the soundtrack version is better this. This rhythm is weak in comparison to the CD release. The album rendition had a rhythm full of a sense of urgency that suited this scene.
@sailorcrisp Agreed. (: They do but it's a different version. ): I like this one the most. And I love this scene. And Eco did a great job remastering. I really wish he would do all the DiC eps. ;) Fans would appreciate. :3
Er, I was talking about the character herself. Not the voice actress. I do like her second voice actress better though. I actually wouldn't mind if they brought her back if or when they dub the remake.
I think the second girl did a better job. Her voice isn't fair natural tone. Now, i do think some of the hate is overstated, but I do think she's not that good a voice actress as the clover dub voice actress

This scene always makes me cry. Sailor Mercury was my cousin's best friend and she died several years ago.

Okay so just checked and both actresses who played Sailor Mercury are still alive so I assume you mean your cousin. Again so sorry :-(
