It's one of the mysteries of the game that everything's abandoned but the financial part of the city's still in full swing! kidnappings have become a kind of business...* *if you look at alex's house from the outside, it's empty giving the impression that the shepherds have moved but when you enter the house, it's fully furnished but completely abandoned (the mirrors still reflect no furniture inside). looking through the backyard in the kitchen part this becomes more apparent (giving a paranormal air of the house being an ancestral ghost of the city).* *the woman locked in the hotel can also be the manifestation of alex's mother living in the world of the dead and him living in the world of the living, both're separated by a hole in the door that looks like the mouth of a monster. the 3 memories illustrate "the day of the accident" and why his mother was catatonic, it's implied that she committed suicide with that old gun and alex's at his doorstep talking to her. there're layers of SH that you can only reach if you're dead.. (there're also indications that it was curtis who built the machine that Lillian is trapped in, then it's possible to see his mother's corpse smiling.. of relief perhaps)* *in the dr.fitch office there's an underground passage that leads to SH, this otherworld passage's the mix of a hospital and the institution that alex's in at the beginning of the game. some hallways're the same as the protagonist walks in the prologue. I kinda hate this game's combat, but i have to say the bosses are fun to fight once you get the hang of it. Think of it like a Souls game, since most of them have a wide attack range, you can't be afraid to go up close or else you won't land a hit. Paying attention to their wind-up animations before the attack is key and though you can just blast them with the shotgun, it's way more satisfying to lay a well timed counter against a 4 meters raging monster. I have to give credit for it, the combat is shit when facing more than one enemy in a tight space, but face just a huge one in a big arena one on one at least is more fun than ''Run to a corner, shoot, run to the other side, shoot'' from the original Team Silent quadrilogy
They should make The Silent Hill series or movies inspired by the game , like the games tho with action everything . That would be awesome for horror/paranormal/ science fiction fans.

But it's not that easy to get out of the demonic-like organization, so in order for the leavers to be at peace, they struck a bargain - one child from each four families of founders must be sacrificed in every generation. You kill your kids, you live peacefully without being involved into that cr*p that's going on in Silent Hill. The main character of this game accidentally killed his younger brother, who wasn't chosen as a sacrifice (it was actually the main guy who was going to be killed), and messed up with the arrangement between the cult's dark powers and the founders of the new city, thus, unleashing demonic wrath onto the dwellers. Interesting fact: each boss represents a child that was sacrificed, and its appearance depends on how they were killed (1 - buried alive, 2 - shredded to ribbons with a machete, 3 - suffocated, and the last one is supposed to be a metaphor to the main character's mother and brother).
Considering how grotesque and destructive these enemies are, I'm surprised that they don't hit harder...
