i don’t mind people are excited, but everyone has to be prepared that this game will get compared to Genshin all the time. in ToF and WuWa communities, you can never escape Genshin. it’s also not wrong to hope for competition, but also….. lmao
personally, the game does look good, but i don’t think i’ll play it. i enjoy fantasy themes more and i do not need another gacha in my life.
These games are super different. They reach to similar, but not the same, audiences. They’ll co-exist just fine.

Trust me I love Genshin but I pre-registered for that game. We gotta give it a try, it can’t just be Genshin forever. Don’t take “Genshin Killer” too seriously.

It has more in common with HSR and HI3rd, the Sci-fi genre, for example.

@@Xailei_ 100%, wuthering waves has the potential to be a competitor with genshin cuz of the extreme similaritys, this game is a simal case to Tof where people compared it to genshin where the only thing that were similar was the fact that its gacha and anime.

I call it a ZZZ + Spider-Man + Scarlet Nexus crossover.
Characters look cute, I'm guessing that there will be some open-world traversal but fights will take place on a stage (similar to how you enter battle in hsr). Which isn't a bad thing. It just seemed in the trailer that the fights were in stages separate from the open world bit. I'm down to try it out and be cautiously optimistic

I've been really excited for this game and I really get using the term "Genshin Killer" for the algorithm, but can we not normalize doing that to throw a community under the bus that hasn't even had a chance to exist?
Cy Yu, I love you man, but pls recognize the platform you have and the message than can EASILY be picked up and spread by the some not so savory members of the Genshin Community.
(Also this is just a reaction to the title, if you think this an overreaction I guarantee most people won't bother watching the video(s) on this game and just run with the title's sentiment with few original sentiments at best)
Last time I was this hyped for a game I never heard of was Blue protocol hopefully this ends up better

at this point, any game calling themselves (devs OR the general audience) “genshin killer” is just really grasping at straws for a good market or PR strategy . like, i get it that genshin is THAT famous, but if all you’re aiming for is to beat that game’s popularity, then better back it up with impressive everything. it seems like devs just wanna sell games but give it a shit treatment. it’s honestly tiring.

This game is backed by Tencent, so they can throw in plenty of money if they want to. But Tencent's reputation as a game developer is not exactly very good.
imagine the game taking reverse1999 route for the VA selection like more variety native british, russian, japanese, french, german, american, etc speakers that represent their origin instead all full american accent for EN language like all hoyo games (even like the character that represent french, japan, china ot=r german, all speak in american accent), it's gonna be lit. i might use EN voiceover for the 2nd time after reverse1999 instead
That's not a Hoyo issue, that's a general issue lots of games/anime have (Not every game/anime but lots of them)
@@aquatickuri i guess not, but im using them as example because they using region influenced concept. but at the same time, they don't really using it except JP dub for inazuma character (for example yoimiya speaks in kansai ben and she voiced by VA who is native speak in kansai accent). in hoyo game, no mater who they are from, all american accent. in reverse1999, in EN language setting, you can hear if the character is british, they will speak in british accent. if they are rusian, french, german, japan, america or china, they will speak in their respective region language + english in their respective accent (i got a japanese character in beta and set in EN language, the VA is famous jp seiyuu, she doesn't speak english well and you can hear authentic japanese who doesn't speak english, speaks english). so the VA direction doesn't slap "speak naruto EN dub". but in other hand, the japanese setting, they just slap regular jp dubbing you can find in any japanese dub game/anime.
i think hoyo just doesn't want to spend more money for EN VA like they did for JP VA
I agree, but I think it can also come down to (jp voice overs for anime is more popular, and maybe even the jp fan base being bigger possibly) but I do think it would be really cool to ACTUALLY get actors to voice the correct native characters... But there's a lot of reasons why I'm sure that doesn't always happen, especially when it comes to anime. But who really knows. We can only pray for the best
@@aquatickuri i mean if you ever seen reverse1999, you will see it's really cool and it gives better immersion (it make sense because the game is story heavy based game). i just feel genshin and hsr EN voiceover way too generic like "i speak anime haha", i mean apex legends also using voiceover with respective race too or way better at giving personality (like mirage is my favorite) and that game is fps game. i mean, reverse1999 blew people mind and highly acknowledged with their voiceover direction. but i kinda understand that mihoyo is more focused on JP VA, they're otaku after all

It is surprising that Mihoyo wouldn't do the same since they really focus on the culture of their other regions... But very focused on the JP like otakus sadly. I wish Mihoyo would read your comment and better their ENG voice over cast

I don't get why people call any open world Gacha game a 'Genshin Killer'. Its the stupidest thing I've ever heard a gamer say. Its not a freaking 'Genshin Killer' the presence of another game will not kill a game. To say that it is is delusional. Geshin has experience on its side, as well as a dedicated fan base that won't just abandon the game the moment some other Gacha appears, and people can play this game and still play Genshin. The release of one game won't destroy another.
No offense to cyyu but the movie theater scene really annoyed me. The fact that he just looked at every char and accociated them with another game as if they were copy and pasted bugs me out. No concept is 100 percent original, cant things just be what THEY are?

I saw this game. It looks well polished, but... so far the enemies look brain dead, and I DO NOT like ANY of the character's designs. Also, the story looks dumb as hell, especially with the big booba boss lady -_-
I also have a fear that this game will release with its best foot forward, putting in all this effort as to not get stomped by the many other popular gacha games, but... will they keep up the quality? can they keep up the quality? The company wasn't exactly known for doing a good job before
