Thank you for this reaction, I love this performance so much, Hua gets to the heart and soul of the song, he uses his voice as just another instrument in the band, and has a knack for performing artistically but sensitively to the music, I feel his interpretations are designed to shine a light on the music rather than just showcase his own (in my opinion excellent) vocal ability.

Thank you for your reaction Mustafa. This is an art performance very hard to surpass, HuaHua is such a skilled musician and unique performer, nobody expected him to perform in this style. He rearranged this song in no time and brought this baroque atmosphere, For me, as always, once HuaHua rearranges a song, it's like it's finally finished and it becomes his song. I saw someone recommend his previous version from The Next in 2016, but with the Singer 2018 version, you can see how much he has improved vocally and stage performance wise. Take care! ❤❤

Actually when i listenedto this version i did not realised what the song is trying to bring forward. Until i listen the latest version, then i realized the meaning n the lyrics. This version is more explosive though similar to the original one.

Upon learning the news, Hua Chenyu, who previously performed this song on The Next, decided to change the song he had been preparing for Singer 2018 at the last minute to pay tribute to Shang.

There is a lyric video of it, but the official video is very beautiful, so I can possibly translate the Maori part into English.😁❤

I listened to Zhou Shen's version, and I'm sorry... I couldn't finish it. He often used too many vocal elements without integrating them well. The use of some special effects machines to make certain parts of the voice rough sounded very unnatural, making it difficult for me to connect with the emotions of the song.
Yes, i have reacted to Zhou Shen's version first. In my opinion his different personalities are better. And Hua Chenyu's explosive and crazyness is better. I loved both of them 😊👍

When Hua participated in the Singer 2018 program recording, he received the news of the original lyricist (22-23 years old) of this song passing away. He immediately changed the original song he was going to perform and chose to sing this song as a tribute to the original lyricist. We all know the versatility of Hua's singing voice, but he doesn't showcase all his vocal techniques just to show off. He carefully selects the most appropriate voice to express the musical story, which is why I like him.
I respect your music taste but it was not machine. Zhou Shen used back vocals of himself to create different personality. And he doesnt need machine also. Either Hua Chenyu. They are both precious but liking one doesnt requires to talk bad about the other i think 👍

Hua is so unique that he has been named The "The eternal God of the Musical Industrial" by his fans. He enjoys the honor though. His songs should best be listened raw with background music removed. Amazing!
I am pretty sure that Zhou Shen doesn't use machines and is not interested in using machines, but rather in using vocal techniques to push the limits of what his voice can do as an instrument. You can hear several times in his foreground vocals that he pushes his voice to cracking. I'm sorry you didn't like both versions, but let's not badmouth Zhou Shen for things he is not doing. I personally listened to the original version by Chen Li, and this Hua Chenyu version right after Zhou Shen's and they are all different. One can listen to many covers and note the different interpretations. I do think that it is pretty hard to criticize a song when one doesn't even finish listening to it. You have no idea if you would have connected with it later in the song, and seen the way the vocalist was trying to play off different ways of presenting, that might make an amazing whole.
