I drove a Diamond Reo C 90 20 ton dump truck for a summer in 1970. Manual 6 speed with Low -Low rear. It was a beast. Never got stuck because of two speed rear and posi. Did a lot of double clutching. Noisy cab, but power steering helped a lot, esp. when backing up when dumping. Great memories!
No air cleaner s... lol 😅 Few had them before 1930s. Strange how no one thought that dirt into intake ruined motors quickly. Especially since few roads were paved then.
I have 1957 REO semi, A series Cab , bustle back sleeper cab with a JT 6 B turbo Cummins, Arizona truck in excellent condition. Cannot find another one anywhere. If anyone knows of one please let me know. Thank you.
I don't think vin numbers were standardized or required by law in 1963. My 58 doesn't have a vin number, but I believe they tagged the engines with a serial number on the side of the block.
Thanks for telling the truth about Ransom Olds for once. Olds is the true pioneer of the automobile in the states not Henry Ford. Olds sold many Curved Dash Oldsmobiles before Ford built the first T. He helped pioneer standardized fasteners and started the assembly line long before Ford. Olds life looks pretty good today compared to Henry who actually was an awful man credited by Adolf Hitler as a role model among other things. Ransom never got credit for his accomplishments instead had to watch Ford being hailed as the genius who started it all before his death in 1950.

My 1957 has the serial number & model in the grove box on a silver plate.
