    Great video. I just got this tent and I am excited to use it for my backpacking trip on Yosemite next month!

    That is a neat area: good trees. Do you still like that tent or which tents do you now use?

    Very roomy single person tent that easily accomodates two without inner. My choice for 3-season solo hikes with a tent. (y)

      Great choice Ari! You have the Orange Version or the Blue one?

      @@HendrikMorkel Orange. The blue one is slightly smaller, albeit lighter.

    Can you say what the inner measurements are: length and width please. I’ve read reports that the inner is quite small for one person but yours looks quite roomy. Thanks.

      Hei Emma, sorry, I can not as I passed it on. But the measurements on the brand website or a retailer website should help you find them :)

      I had the same question and called the manufacturer. They did not have that information.

    Hendrik, how does this tent compare to the TarpTent Stratospire?

    looks identical to the Dan Durston X-Mid, I wonder if he sold his designs to them. I think weight is identical as well.

      Except this design is different and older than x-mid. Near vertical walls require less space, but tie-downs is required to keep ridge taut.

      Yes, the High Route is older than the X-Mid and also different.

      Thought the same..maybe an inspiration to the x-mid

    it sounds like the horrible E74 highway in the background. I cycled it, and had to abandon, too many trucks and cars.

    • @HendrikMorkel
      @HendrikMorkel  4 роки тому

      The E12 is about 1,5 km away... But yeah, unless I cycle for an hour or two, traffic noise is always an issue. Sorry.

    Best single person tent design is Hilleberg Atko or variation. Lightest, strongest . Why do tent manufacturers come out with designs that CAD and Evolution algorithms prove are inferior.?.

    • @HendrikMorkel
      @HendrikMorkel  4 роки тому +4

      Best single person ⛺️ design is imo a Pyramid. Spacious, stormproof, easy to pitch.
      And companies come out with new designs as not everyone goes out in storms & bad weather, or intends to 😊 And many people don’t have the $€£¥ to buy an Akto for example, which costs about 3 x as much as this tent.

      @@HendrikMorkel ,So a pyramid design is more storm proof than the Atko design.?. I've been looking at the MLD pyramid.

      Atko is 3x more expensive and 2x heavier than my DD X-MID :)

      @@HendrikMorkel The lack of headroom in a Pyramid is why designers are looking for alternative shapes and geodetic domes. Coming from rainy UK you need a tent thats fly 1st with a high hydrostatic rating
