Belt squeal, squeaky belt, belt noise? Learn how to fix a squeaky belt in your car. The rubber belt in your car powers the accessories such as air conditioning, power steering, alternator, fan, and water pump. There are three types of serpentine belt wear, pilling, glazing, and abrasion. Pulley wear will cause your pulley to squeak. A worn-out pulley bearing or a worn spring in the tension pulley can also cause squeaking. I show you how to use water to identify what type of squeak problem you have and then how to find the problem.

*why the belt gets damaged
list of problems and possible causes to help you identify the reason for timing belt failure. Visually examine your timing belt drives for these top 6 failure-causing problems and it could help to prevent your drives from grinding to a halt, avoiding unscheduled downtime.
1. Misalignment
Misalignment is one of the main causes of timing belt drive failure. Excessive or uneven tooth wear, belt tracking, and tensile failure can all be attributed to misalignment. By checking and aligning your shafts and timing pulleys you can increase the life of your timing belts and save yourself lots of downtimes.
2. Excessive load
If the timing belt teeth are shearing, excessive load is more than likely the cause. Tensile failure and even excessive tooth wear can also be caused by excessive load or shock loads, although the latter is less likely. To cure this problem you’re going to have to redesign the drive.
3. Under-tensioned Belt
Tooth skipping, also called ‘ratcheting’, is probably down to your belt being under-tensioned. Under-tensioning can also cause excessive or uneven tooth wear and excessive drive noise so use a tension gauge to set the correct tension on those timing belts!
4. Weak drive structure
If your drive is vibrating excessively or your timing belts are suffering from apparent belt stretch, you could have a weak drive structure. Try reinforcing the drive structure and you could stop the problem.
5. Damaged or worn pulleys
Damaged or worn timing pulleys will substantially reduce belt life. Worn teeth will cause belt wear and/or damage. Nicks or gouges can cut the belt. Inspect and replace pulleys that show signs of wear.
6 Debris in the timing pulley or drive
It’s the most overlooked, but debris can cause a multitude of problems for your timing belt & pulley. Dirt on the teeth can abrade the belt and oil can attack the belt materials. Use a stiff brush to clean off rust and dirt. Wipe clean of oil and grease. Debris can account for any of the above reasons for timing belt failure

Indigo ecs 2014 is owned by me from 2014 all belts are fine when I switch ac on belt gives a sound after 15 km's when temp rises ac then switched on does not make sound ...suggest easy solution or remedy .

Cranck shaft sensor ko tata indigo me rpm sensor jaisa use kiya hai
Is sensor ko crank angle position sensor bolte hai.
Location - jaha pe FLY-WHEEL engine case ke bhar se dikhta hai wahi pe rpm sensor hai. Uske uper black colour ka plastic cap patla sa laga hua hai
o2 sensor 2013 ke end models me ati hai indigo me older version me nahi hai
Or 2014 ke bad me rehta hai o2 sensor apke exhaust mainfold or catylitic converter ke piche rehta hai
Cam sensor nahi hota hai ku ki engine ka timing sahi set sahi ho to gadi bina cam ke position pata kiye bina hi start ho jata hai
Vista ke kuch models me hai cam sensor or Dicor engines me hai

Ap belt ke uper water dal ke check karyea agar noise chala jata hai tab belt ki pully change karyea
Also ek bar belt ki tension ko sahi se set karwa ke dekhyea
If water dalne se noise nahi jata hai tab apko tensioner pullly ko change karna hoga

Heator me jo collent ka do pipe hai ek inlet or outlet dono same heat ho raha hai ya nahi agar nahi ho raha hai to heator ko khulwa ke clean karyea or kholne se pehle pipe me coolent ka flow check karyea pipe nikal ke

If press throttle getting cool. ( low pressure cool)
2. Engine getting over heat in idle.
3. Sometimes getting vibrate in idle position.

You can drive for longer distances but if the belt is very old or crossed 35000km then you have to replace it .

Hii, mere pass tata indigo ke TDI car hai, Car ko jab bhi start karta hun to belt se jor se chik chik ki awaz aati hai or gadi ka RPM bhi 800 rpm se kam show karta hai, accelerate karne par bhi rpm meter pe rpm nahi badhta hai, lekin 2 min baad apne aap 800 rpm pe ho jati hai or acceleration se bhi fir normal ho jati hai, bhai solution batao na jaldi.

Ek bar idler pully or tensioner pully me greasing kar ke dekhyea or pully ka play check karyea, tensioner pully ko nikal ke engine oil me duba ke rakha hota hai 30 min ke liye ku gap kafi Kam hota hai

Gadi ka self ghum raha hai ya ya nahi ya phir self lock ho raha thoda ghumne ke bad.
Main kal timing belt ka video recorde karne wala hua to parso tak upload hoga usme sab kuch bata dung.

Sare tensioner pully ko nikal ke under me grease or engine oil mix kar ke dal dijyea or sare belt ko sahi full tight karyea to sound chala jayega

Cam valve ka hai but iska current ignition coil bejta hai to agar ignition coil ya cam valve kharab hoga to sound nahi ayega
So check both
