My wife has two family members that are so rude too servers that I refuse to go out to dinner with them anymore. Her mother and aunt find something to complain about every time, nine times out of ten it is the food, they take it out on the server end up getting a meal or two commped and then leave a small tip. I have gotten so embarrased before that I pretend to go to the bathroom before we leave, apologize to the server and give them an appropriate tip.
My son has also noticed this and even backed me up about it before a lunch six months ago with my mother in law. Let me just say within thirty seconds of the food hitting the table my son and I locked eyes and then looked at my wife his mom, she was red faced and looked like she was going to cry, because it was immediate her mom started complaining about her food, sent something back twice, got her meal commped, and at the end bitched about the final bill because she forgot she had used a gift card to the location on a previous meal.
Big yikes, I would refuse to go out with them.
