Russian forces attempting to seize Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region are employing tactics akin to those in Avdiivka. Occupiers are dropping numerous airstrikes in the area, according to the UK Ministry of Defense on X.
In the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, it has been stated that occupiers dropped 20-30 aviation bombs within a day in the vicinity of Chasiv Yar. These are dropped from Su-25 aircraft operating near the front line and Su-34 aircraft acting from a distance using guided bombs.
"This is a concerted aerial bombardment and is a tactic repeated from the Avdiivka campaign," the summary notes.
According to intelligence, the city of Chasiv Yar is heavily fortified and situated on elevated terrain. Russian forces are advancing slowly in this area.
Ukrainian military controls the situation in the town of Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region. However, the occupiers continue their assaults, according to the comments from Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Khortytsia Operational Strategic Group, and Oleh Kalashnikov, press officer of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Roman Dashkevych.
"Chasiv Yar stands firm. The enemy is exerting pressure on the Bakhmut direction, including Chasiv Yar. The situation is fully under control, with no enemy presence in the city," said Voloshyn.
As noted by the spokesperson for the Operational Strategic Group Khortytsia, Russian assault groups are arriving in infantry fighting vehicles, launching attacks supported by both drones and artillery.
"Recently, aviation has become particularly troublesome, bombing both civilian infrastructure and defense positions with FAB and KAB bombs," he added.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions.
"Today, we are defending in Chasiv Yar. I wouldn't say the enemy has made any significant gains. And if we look at our defensive lines overall, wherever possible, we reinforce them. And we reinforce them constantly and quite significantly," Kalashnikov explained.
