I was born in 69, and the fabrics used for early dolls was insane. We had so much lace, see through, chiffon, real fur, metallic, loose knits, nets, silky material, etc. that - while beautiful - were incredibly difficult to maintain. When bend leg and dramatic living dolls became popular, they were so hard to dress, we had to keep a bottle of talcum powder in the playroom to help stuff glide on. The dress on Francie in your intro made me think of this, as the metal would wear off in years of hard play. Back then, they basically took real fashion and shrunk it down to fit the dolls, now they think "how can we make this the cheapest, manufacture it the simplest" instead, and it shows. I love sewing for my dolls, trying to capture the sophistication of early clothes.
In my opinion, the 80s got the most iconic Babries ever. Peaches n cream, Day to Night, Dream Glob, Crystal, Loving you, Rockers and so on. Would love to see your 80s treasures.
My goodness you have an incredible Vintage doll collection. All the Dolls are beautiful, but I had my eye on Francie in her Sun Spot ensemble. Thank you for sharing your Collection with us!
Great to see you here! IG supported landscape long-format video for a minute, but we think UA-cam is better for the long-haul, plus better for watching on the big screen! Welcome!! Yay!! 🎊🎉🎉🎉 - Bob and Lori…
The vintage Barbie dolls (60s-70s) are 🔥the quality of the clothing & accessories just hits different. I would love to have a vintage collection one day-those 60s-70s colors are just my vibe
Hey Jack, thrilled to follow you here from Instagram. Like you Barbie/vintage Barbie is my thing and I also love all things vintage especially toys. Wishing you tons of success. Cool, Good Looking, Sexy, Star Quality 💯
¡Hola from Barcelona! David here I just discovered your channel few day ago and today I got the courage to post on here with me broken English 🙃 You got an impressive collection Jack!!! I enjoyed so much the way you introduce yourself and the collection. You reminded me my love for Christie especially through the Mod and 70's era 💜 Very grateful for your generosity in showing your collection! Cheers
Omg, I didn't realize you had a UA-cam channel!!! You popped up in my FYP. But to be fair, I rarely pay attention to specific details. Just subscribed! 💗🎀✨
What a fun new channel!! And what a handsome devil YOU are!! Love vintage toys.......especially dolls. Do you also collect other older dolls like Darci, MEGO, Jody (The Country Girl), Tuesday Taylor, Dawn etc? Looking forward to seeing what you got planned for future episodes and seeing your face on my T.V. screen!
Haha thank you! I don’t really collect those, but I have at least one of most fashion dolls from the 60s and 70s. I love leggy from Hasbro, dusty, Flatsy, Tuesday Taylor is really pretty…thanks for joining me here!
@@Thedollswitness I used to have the blonde "Leggy" doll when I was a kid. Such a cool line. Dolls these days just dont have the quality or the appeal that they used to....
Loved your first video. Thank you for making it for all of us collectors. I love most cool toys whether for boys or girls. Expensive imports or vintage or modern. Toys are fun and that's that. Looking forward to more videos from you and more Barbies! and want to see your action figures as well!🙌
Congratulations on the new Channel! I've been following you on Instagram and love your content. Can't wait to see what you offer! Been a Barbie fan since 1965!
I love your collection of Barbie. I collect dolls of all kinds. So I am not a expert in any way. And I also collect action figures and so on. I will follow your channel.
i literally pose my barbie around my room, yes i unbox them no. 1 i have limited space, so having a bunch of boxes would mean less space, 2. whats the point of having something if you can't play with it? these dolls are not forever especially the further back we go i want to enjoy the dolls I have so long as their around, 3. its alot easier to track things and correct things like rubber band disintergration, if its out of the box, yes it dimisnishes the value by deboxing but the doll vintages can sustain damage in the box.. 4. I love opening packages biggest dopamine rush ever.
I have a huge amount of unboxed dolls. The reason I keep certain pieces in the box is because the packaging itself is a major part of the display. The artwork and design of the box places the piece in perfect context, literally timestamps it, and shows what it looked like on the shelf so many years ago. I think boxed dolls make for great showpieces alongside your unboxed versions, but it’s all a matter of preference and how you choose to curate. 👍🏻
well I do repurpose some boxes, a little arts and crafts and some of them make really good back drops, I always try to perserve an original design of the box is asthetic enough..
Very impressive collection and I am excited to learn more about these vintage Barbie’s. I have started collecting vintage Barbies little over a year ago. I am from baby boomer era…they reminded me of my childhood that I loved to played with Barbie’s til in my late teen. They are so nostalgic. I have a lot to learn about them. I am looking forward to learn more from you and your collection…to pick out the right outfits for them to be displayed. I have huge collection of Bratz, completed collection of lol omg and tweens dolls and the play sets, and RH/SH & Junior highs dolls plus completed collection of playset, too. I am into MY FIRST BARBIES and the playsets, also. Love them all.
Listening your toy collector story I feel so identified, as a child I had MOTU and I am collecting the origins line and at the same time I collect vintage Barbies, my favorites are 80s and 90s ones, as a child I was not allowed to play with them as my dad did not like it, but now I collect and restore old Barbies. I will be looking forward to your videos!
Great Barbie dolls! They are all so cool and interesting! I hope you will also find time for all the other toys 😁 I have a thing for toys too ❤️ And I love your voice!
Just found your channel and love it! Your dolls are spectacular. Very impressive. PLEASE do videos on everything you collect. I collect mostly dolls but other toys too and would love to see yours.
Nice into video. I liked it all but the part at the end with the different toys was a fun bonus. It’s pretty neat seeing the evolution of Barbie fashion.
Can't wait for more videos, this was fun! I've done a couple of doll videos myself, but I find that I haven't had the time to devote to it like I originally hoped, so I fell off a bit, lol. BTW, that peasant look fashion you were thinking might be from 1975 is actually from the 1978 catalog, it is one of the Best Buys, #2229, and had matching looks for Ken and Skipper. I'm a huge 70s/80s Barbie collector, so I have a ton of stuff from the early 70s Malibu/Quick Curl era through the SuperStar era. But I also really love Vintage and Mod, and I have a small collection of 90s stuff, and 21st Century stuff, naturally. I also really like the Rainbow High/Shadow High dolls for some reason, and I have collections of Kenner Darci, Ideal Tuesday Taylor, Hasbro Jem, Integrity Jem, Kenner Glamour Gals, Mattel Princess of Power and a few MOTU, and a bunch of one-offs like Mego Cher/Farrah/etc., Ideal Tammy, Kenner Dusty & Skye, Kenner Bionic Woman, Ideal Tiffany Taylor, etc. I even have a Shindana Disco Wanda, which is one of my faves. I am big into the late 70s/early 80s aesthetic, and I have a lot of the Barbie structures and vehicles from that time period. The 1979 Dream House, 1980 Dream Pool and 1977 Star Traveler Motor Home are the holy trinity of doll structures in my opinion.
Awesome video! Love your collection. I just have a tiny bit of advice... Turn your background music down for future videos. It was a bit distracting. ❤
60/70s are hard to come where I live... It's so expensive. Each era is honestly so gorgeous. I collect dolls and ponies (and books too but that's a different topic). You really showed a great line up of each era in this video
❤❤❤ grew up in the times of Barbie, Rock flowers, Dawn, Liddle kiddles, Flatsy❤ hot wheels, Velvet❤❤ 🪆 ❤❤ toy 🚗 Love the nostalgia for new and old toys it brings 😊 happiness great content hope to see more, variety is awesome in collections I am here for it 🤗
Yes, please on My Little Pony and troll content! ...and well any other vintage toys really. Not enough content out there on some of those toy lines. Looking forward to it!
I love the barbie cars, if I could I would love to own all the old cars from barbie, there so cute. I rarely collect anything dolls, but those barbie vintage cars... man that style. I'm usually just collecting model cars and Star Wars stuff, but I wouldn't say no if I found that amazing Swimsuit barbie, just amazing looking. They don't make barbie like they used to, Swimsuit barbie is so cute. I was thinking about getting into some integrity toys, especially because I was a big fan a Jem and Holograms as I kid🤔
I'm STILL waiting for my Sideshow Catwoman, from, "The Dark Knight." Factory was wiped out last year in China, just before they shipped! Now I'm watching them go to resellers, who are selling them for a bit less than I paid. I know Sideshow needs to recoup losses, but darn, I've been waiting way too long, through excuses, then actual underwater flooding!

Totally. Seems making the clothes yourself is about the only way to get that kind of quality back. ❤️❤️
Crazy how professional this is for your first upload on UA-cam. You’re a talented, multi-faceted guy. This channel is great!
Aw thank you so much!!❤️❤️

Thanks, am definitely doing a best of the 80s video. There are so many to pick from it’ll definitely be more difficult to narrow down than this. ❤️❤️

Thank you for sharing your collection with us! I look forward to seeing it. The early 70s are my early childhood Barbies and are still my favorite.
You’re very welcome! That’s awesome. Barbie gets really overlooked in the 70s and there are so many total gems from that period ❤❤❤❤
I’m not sure what I was expecting when I clicked on your video, but I have to say it was pretty refreshing 😉 Subscribed 💪
