The key system is actually a useful system, but it wasn’t applied correctly. He’s right that elections are a referendum on incumbents, not campaigns. If people have less money in their pocket, they’ll usually vote for the party not in charge, regardless of candidates. If the Republican Party fails to improve people’s lives over the next 4 years, they will suffer the same fate.
This time around there were many of his so-called "keys" that actually were almost of no importance or relevance and seemed to not take into account one or more intangibles that shouldn't be dismissed, like the last pre-election jobs report that only added 12,000 jobs instead of a hoped for 100 thousand jobs???
But that means that using recessions as a metric for the short- and long-term economic keys is wrong. The system is thus flawed, and it should be as humans are emotional beings. Rational homo-economicus does not exist. Of course, all this plays into the idea of factoring misinformation, which makes perfect sense in a digital age.
Open border is another significant factor played here . Litchmen ignored fundamental issues and used misinformation to make judgement. Americans actually realized who is real dictator in the country .

Is predicting 8/10 elections even that impressive? Some of them are just obvious. I think I predicated 5/6. 2024 felt like Trump would win, clear message again, economics and immigration on his side, Democrats fumbled it on picking the right candidate, had a weak message and took some damage over all the woke stuff. 2020 felt like it would go to Biden, largely due to the pandemic and Trump didn't debate well either. 2016 felt like Trump, a maverick candidate and outsider with a clear message promising to fight for Americans, v Clinton a Washington careerist, struggling with the FBI email issue hanging over her. 2008 and 2012 Obama was clear favourite, great candidate, clear message of hope and change, after the Iraq fiasco and credit crunch. 2004 I really thought Kerry would win, but got that completely wrong.
You lied to the Democrats and your keys were completely useless because you interpreted the keys according to what you wanted and not based on the realities on the ground. Who cares about a malfunctioning key?

That's because most people are completely economically illiterate, they don't seem to grasp that we live in a free market and the President doesn't control the price of goods. Prices are high because people are buying the goods, there is no incentive for corporations (whose primary objective is to make money) to lower prices. Basic supply and demand. The only recourse is to increase wages, and if people think that is going to be Trump and the Republican's objective, the American people are greatly mistaken. Exactly. He admitted this in countless interviews he wanted Harris to win. That's when I knew his prediction was bullsh**. In his 13 key model he checked off, "Incumbent charisma: The incumbent party candidate is charismatic or a national hero." He gave the Biden/Harris team that and I'm like WHAT!!! Harris neither Biden are charismatic. He also checked off for them, "Social unrest: There is no sustained social unrest during the term." which is a lie because The Israel/Palestine conflict was a huge form of social unrest in America and around the world in general. I believe this is specifically why Harris narrowly lost Michigan, one of the most heavily populated Arab American states. He checked off for them "Long-Term and Short-Term economy" and he cities a bunch of magazines and articles explaining why inflation is down. But what he didn't realize is perception is everything. Yes inflation maybe down but the average person pockets is still hurting. Purchasing power is down, but he wouldn't understand that because he is rich. So, it was no surprise to me his prediction was totally off. And he's openly called Trump in interview after interview, "A danger to democracy" which tells you he was rooting for the Democrats.

The economy is objectively good in every way. Inflation is right at the ideal point of 2%, the stock market is booming (don't tell me the stock market doesn't matter, you'd be bragging about it if it were under Trump and it matters for people's 401K), unemployment is at record lows, real wages are rising, US manufacturing is booming, etc.
@@Owen_loves_Butters Lol we have a 9.3% credit card delinquency rate (worst since Q1 2012) inflation over 4 years is 20%, and real wage growth since biden got in is 1%. At surface, jobs look good but full time jobs have dropped YoY and a huge reason employment, (a trailing variable) is high is that more americans then ever have a second or third job. Lastly CPI which has gone down is not close to the full picture as deficit spending does not translate into CPI (although it provides QE even if rates are high) and Real estate is not weighed in the CPI index which would show the worst housing market since 2008… Back to school skippy!
@Owen_loves_Butters None of those metrics matter for the average person. Most of the flipped voters don't have anything invested in the stock market or even in housing. Inflation may be down but the ratio between prices of goods and median income is drastically higher than it has historically been. Reigning inflation back to normal doesn't change this ratio, and it's what we feel the most. Unemployment is actually rising, and the jobs that are being made are lower paying government jobs rather than those in the private sector, and underemployment (people who are over qualified for the positions they are in) continues to spike. You can say Republicans are lying about the economy to people but the truth is that people vote because their quality of life is either better or worse than it has been, and clearly voting Trump indicates we are unhappy with the state of the US and want change.
Also manufacturing has dipped YoY by 250K jobs… And the stock market is a terrible way to judge the economy as in the fall of 2007 the stock market hit record highs one year later Lehman brothers failed… A few NPR statistics later some people believe they are ready to be the next Alan Greenspan, truly stunning.

No other Presidents had top generals and their own former cabinet numbers calling them a threat to our way of life. Kamala should have won on the sole basis that she can at least show up to an interview and speak coherently about her resume. The only reasonable explanation is that people were voting for what his identity represents to them compared to hers. Even if it was for the cost of living factor, it's because they instinctively perceive him as the strong male capable of solving problems where in their opinion a woman cannot. There was an overwhelming consensus from economists that Kamala's plan was better at tackling inflation and growing the economy. She just didn't have the gender factor on her side since Trump has no factor on his side beyond that, and yet still managed to win.
@@woah455The average Trump voter didn’t vote for her not because she was a woman, but because she lied, she flip flopped, she dodged questions, she would word salad, she didn’t show herself, she would endlessly blame Trump instead of supporting herself, she shamed black people and women for not voting for her, she put on a facade depending on what audience she was talking to, she prided herself on being a middle class kid which is in speculation, she cared more about people outside the country than inside (supporting Israel but barely helping the people of the hurricane), she has openly called the 18-24 demographic “stupid”, she uses tax dollars for surgeries on illegal inmates, she sugarcoated Biden’s cognitive state, and the list may go on

Guy is a liberal fan boy. Election was a blowout proving his system is worthless.

Those two were hard to call. But every other election since 1980 were obvious. 2000 was harder but Gore was a horrible candidate. 1972 was easy has hell while 1976 was tough but I’d have picked Carter.

@@woah455 Sure, blame misogyny and not the fact Kamala was shoehorned in and ran a sh*t campaign 😂
@@woah455The average Trump voter didn’t vote for her not because she was a woman, but because she lied, she flip flopped, she dodged questions, she would word salad, she didn’t show herself, she would endlessly blame Trump instead of supporting herself, she shamed black people and women for not voting for her, she put on a facade depending on what audience she was talking to, she prided herself on being a middle class kid which is in speculation, she cared more about people outside the country than inside (supporting Israel but barely helping the people of the hurricane), she has openly called the 18-24 demographic “stupid”, she uses tax dollars for surgeries on illegal inmates, she sugarcoated Biden’s cognitive state, and the list may go on
Anyone who wouldn't vote for Kamala because she was a woman would never vote for a democrat anyway. This election was not lost because of misogyny.
The guy just completely exposed himself with this interview. Career over
Other than indoctrinating 19-year-olds in class…….🫤
The only way for Lichtman's system to approach being scientific is for each of its subjective keys to be decided by polls, which would be laughably ironic.
He is treated like a genius for predicting who gets elected while most of the time, the average person can tell you who is going to win. Knowing absolutely nothing still gives you a 50% chance of getting it right.
Exactly right. If you look at the ones he's correctly predicted, only a couple were surprising. 2024 was only surprising to the folks who watch mainstream media and/or live in a bubble. The fact that he didn't see a tsunami outweighs the fact that he didn't see a wave.
exactly. survivorship bias. Take 1000 'experts' to predict the last 10 elections. One of them... 1 in 2 to the 10th power...(1024) will get it right out of sheer chance. This dude very well may have 'survived' to this point out of sheer chance. Best not to listen to any of these types for future things etc etc.
I predicted Trump and am down here in uganda east africa! 🇺🇬 you only need to know politics to know this. Coming from a highly politicized country with a five tier political decentralized system, i predicted trump and got it right both times. And am no genius!
Exactly. But I mean his methodology is quite structured and smart for anyone to use. Just shame he let his bias get in the way.
@@boulevard14 Agreed
He is a jerk. Can’t admit mistake and instead looking for excuses
No he is not, you are mad and WRONG. Allan was right for 40 elections in a row. He has the RIGHT to be smug and you have the right to stop crying.
Trump?
Cry harder. Get ready to cry more once that recession hits.
40 elections? that would make him over 200 years old@@d4mterro320
Remember he did pick Trump in 2016, so it's not like he didn't go against the grain of popular opinion, but his 13 Keys never accounted for a Presidential Canidate that was installed, not elected, that is a major reason Kamala Harris was universally panned from this election because she did not earn the right to eve be running for President, and the Democrats think the American people are stupid not to notice this as a major flaw in the canidate. His 13 Keys should of recognized the same, apparently he picked Trump again while he was going against Biden, but the moment they switch him out, he switched his pick and his 13 Keys system fell apart.
He didn't account for people praying.
Hallelujah thank you jesus
A-men!
Yes the power of God is the best to pick the God fearing ppl
Need more keys to prevent error, like the key of common sense. And don't let personal views get in your way of best judgement.
I told you Mr. Litchman , remember sometimes you can lost your keys and be stranded in front of the door 😂😂😂
Perhaps common sense should be added to his key chain!
There’s no excuse for this one either. She got destroyed.
The Keys weren't wrong. He let his bias get in the way of a true prediction. Especially the charisma (fight me all you want trump appeals to alot of peoples grievances) ,and the economy and primary keys. Apply them objectively and a trump win would've been predicted.
I was just reading his keys they prove Trump would win if all were answered correctly. You are right….his bias got in the way.
His keys were right. Trump ran a resist campaign.
Nope.....the Keys simply didn't account for modern era forces such as widespread disinformation, which DJT and team used extensively to convince millions they were disadvantaged victims of "the Establishment" when, in fact, these people have a life their grandparents couldn't dream of. People with that delusion will act irrationally and even vote for a convicted felon. This was Trump's greatest victory, and America's greatest political disaster.
I completely agree.
🎯
Don't ever believe this idiot. Your fired.
They were your predictions too, CNN.
My condolences. 💐
😂😂
Central PA Harris voter here. My neighbors (who I’m friendly with) all voted for Trump. Main concerns: identity politics (trans athletes competing in women’s sports, pronoun talk, etc), immigration, spending money on wars like Ukraine when Americans are hurting, and inflation. That’s it. That’s why we lost.
We try to cater to every single group. Respect everybody……but you don’t have to get approval from every single group and their issue. Start giving people in the middle (slightly left….slightly right) what they need and want. Otherwise, you lose. It’s not about key theory from 30 years ago. I’m dumb and can see it. Why can’t you?
Categorizing, at its essence, is division.
Your neighbors are Putinists.
Do you go to the Central Hotel (Bar, Restaurant ) at all. I live 2 houses down.
You know you went in that booth and voted from Trump. Don't be ashamed. Kamala just didn't cut it.
OR lets TRUE democracy prevail and let there be multiparty system and let each party cater to a group that they can then represent in the government and have policies which are sort of on ALL sides. As of today policies are mostly on side of lobbies and financiers rather than people since two party system has been compromised and people feel disenfranchised. Result is apparent with 13 million FEWER people voting THIS critical election. Worth another experiment
And he was wrong
Nostradamus was also a fake
the keys werent wrong, he was just biased
@@WilliamLi-nd4lzexactly. He was way too biased and used his keys to push his agenda. Had he objectively applied the keys he would've called Trump
Nostradamus correctly predicted that Turmp would be Hilter and that Joy Behar would be Miss USA
He tried to use his “keys” as a cudgel to hammer a square peg into a round hole. Even a 3 year old knows that doesn’t work.
So what will you say about him getting every single election from 1984 to 2020 right. He is human. He is allowed to make a mistake.
Absolutely correct. No Democrat ever looks to the true outcome to evaluate their dipsh’t predictions. Why would you want to do that. You stick to your guns bud. Just don’t expect a call from me for your 🤔.. Ummmm, services.
Just like no one cares about Movie critics, no one cares about political analyst's opinions.
Polls and experts are and have been useless since 2016 the political landscape has undergone a fundamental change time to rethink everything.
Hw predicted Trump in 2016..despite lots of people saying no way
The reason polls are so wrong now is online media. And such things.
