So I commented a few months ago as a learner. Now nealy 2 weeks as a full license holder and able to drive my little Louie everywhere and I do, I love this little 2003 450. We had a few teething issues like any older car would but, its so much fun to drive.
I have a four two 450 599 cc and I use shell v-power really good fuel and as you say you get better economy and the car just runs smoother great channel ,👍
Loved loved loved my smart 450 passion spring edition. Have chance now to buy a good runner very cheap but needs some cosmetic, don’t think I will be able to resist!
@@LivetoDriveUK Yes self rebuild, along with a ton of welding. the previous owner blew the head gasket owing to a cracked expansion tank. I decided while it's stripped i might as well go all in with new rings Valves ETC. It did have a full engine rebuild in 2012 at 61k.

Thanks. A 2009 is the later 451 model. I do own a 451 turbo and there are videos on the channel with that. The MHD stands for Mild Hybrid Drive but is actually just a Stop-Start system. The problem with them is that the belt that is part of it must be checked and changed in accordance with the service intervals. If it fails, the car will still drive (with a warning light) but will quickly overheat and it can be expensive to repair. @@matknox5954 my Smarts go to the best Smart mechanics at Smart-TECNIC in Birmingham. They have many MHDs in and providing they are correctly serviced are usually fine. It's not a 'stay away from' it's more of a 'be aware of' so I would read the link (which is trusted by the Smart community) and decide. All the best.

I can’t advise on the panels, sorry, but I believe, at least in the UK, the 451 panels are still available from Mercedes (I recently purchased 4 corners for my 451) and the 450 ones are available but require painting. I have a 451 CDI and a 452 Roadster, love them soooo much. Always fun to drive 😁
Definitely fun. Love both my 450 and 451. Have not yet enjoyed a Roadster.

Excellent. Did you do the rebuild yourself? They do need it when they get near to 100k.

I have got a 451. On a 10 plate in green and it go well no power steering
Yes I do have a 451. Smoother on the road and quicker although I personally prefer the original 450 🙃

I like your accent voice, its different. How much does it cost to take it to Mercedes Benz dealership, i heard Mercedes Benz is expensive to maintain.
I wouldn’t know as I personally never used them and couldn’t trust them. I use a well regarded specialist.
