Oaks some of the best firewood we’ve used and honestly in 30 years of fires heating my house I’ve never seen it get too dry. Plus don’t worry if some wood is still a little wet, just get a good bed of coals real hot and throw in your wetter wood with some dry stuff and it will dry right out. You can burn it just fine. Any good hard wood will burn slow and last a lot longer than any fast growing lumber and sappy wood like pine will burn out of control if you’re not careful. It’s great little chips to get a fire started. The main problem I’ve found with sappy pine is that it will cause a lot of build up in your chimney. Don’t worry about it though I promise you’ll not be able to burn more than I have and as long as you clean your chimney and don’t just rage your fire like my mom likes because she wants it to be 80 in her bedroom and then she’s still under a ton of covers and I’m farthest from the stove and have to keep my door shut to keep from sweating all night. Not an exaggeration. We have an insert and a stand alone stove and they both do fine. We’re in 2100 sq feet with 9 ft ceilings and the stove heated that the insert was used in another area but we didn’t have any air exchange with that area. We always liked a big log of oak to throw on at 9 and burn all night check it around work 6 am then let it low all day so it would not go out and freshen it up around noon and it would be ready for a log by 8 pm. We didn’t even let our fire go out until spring and even though we’re in California my mom likes it HOT and is always worried about being cold. We start burning in October and stop in march most years. We burn way more than most or needed if you ask me. And I would stack your oak and hard logs separately from your basic wood. It makes it easier. Also from the video it looked like you were cutting the wood into smaller pieces than necessary. A nice big log is much easier for a long night than little pieces that will burn out or burn down quicker and not leave you any big hot coals. I see you were stacking along your porch and we stacked a day or two alongside on the porch but most of our wood was down back about an acre away. You never know when for some reason a termite will show up and you don’t want that in your back door. Okay, have fun with your fireplace. They’re beautiful and heat wonderful. Plus you’ll quickly get the hang of it and be able to basically set it and forget about it for hours. Been fun watching your family grow.❤
I was going to tell you to keep your wood away from the house to avoid termites, but I see Ms. Hollis beat me too it. 😊 I learned that in 😢Florida.
You know any one of your cows could win a beauty contest, but Ms Tipsy could win several years in a row
You're right. MJ is a handsome dude, his job on earth is to make more handsome dudes and dudettes.
Mj will thrive in his new home where he can grow into a gorgeous bull ❤
I want to thank you all for praying for us here in Florida
Prayers be safe God Bless
Praying for all the families that have been through the hurricanes.
I pray everyday to bless everyone
Continued prayers ❤❤
Prayers continue dear 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Every time you moo at Frank I think about a big sign in front of Frank saying “ You’re gone’a miss me when I’m gone “ . God bless
Jun bug always seems to be the first one to the feed
Rae has the gentle demeanor that animals gravitate to.
Chad, isn't it wonderful knowing our Father in heaven knows what we need and always provides for us!
We do not have because we do not ask.
We do have an on time God. He may not give us what we want or when we want it. When God does give it to us it is right on time.
i live in MN we cut wood one year for the next year so it sits for up to 18 months sometimes before it is used you should stake your wood away from your house termites mice critters love to live in wood piles
We are in WI and heat our 3000 sq ft home with wood. We let our wood season for 18 to 24 months. Never heard of wood being too dry. Wet wood will cause a build up of creosote and that could cause a chimney fire.
Chad I will never forget when Lucy ❤❤opened your truck door 😂😂over on the 20 acres. Izzy pig is such a cute 🥰 pig. Dude is so cute😊❤. All your variety of cows are so awesome.🎉
@@Cokie1657 I remember that too!! Hilarious 😂😂
That was so great when Lucy got the door open!😂
I love that you can see all of the animals from your porch now. They are all beautiful!
He who is faithful in much, is given much.
Your next bull calf has to be called Arrow for Arrowquip! That would be cool!
I agree on Tipsy how beautiful she is. Just a stunning large cow.❤❤
Chad you and Rae deserve to be happy your property and animals are beautiful and peaceful
Someday, MJ is going to make an amazing herd sire! I am a tiny bit envious of who is getting Dude. He is just too adorable and cute for words! 💖💖💖
That little donkey is really growing fast! Gorgeous Dude for sure. He would sire some beauties.
Uncle Badonk is so laid back and chill. He does look like Eeyore! Cause he pulls his ears back a lot.
😍😍😍Allie in my humble opinion, is going to be one of your prettiest cows! Her face markings are beautiful. 😍😍😍
That adorable pig really enjoys food!
It’s a lot to do with your demeanour and energy. You get back what you give out. Animals are drawn to kind souls
Weiner dog is an inquisitive pup. It’s his teething log. ❤❤❤ Enjoy watching the log splitter in action.
Rae has always had the touch with animals ❤
Thank you. Love and prayers to all the Doss family. Praying for all who have veen effected by the rwo hurricanes. ❤️🙏
Allie truly is the most beautiful calf I have ever seen, I swear!
You have the prettiest cattle I have ever seen. The little ones are so darn cute. Everyone different from the other.
Love seeing Izzy 😂
From the first time I saw Rae with the animals, I said she is a real Dr Doolittle 😁❤️
The herd is so beautiful!!! I just love the littles, they are so precious. Y'all are doing a great job Chad & Raye
Rae's garden beds look beautiful. I enjoy your videos. Prayers for all of you 💜🙏
Pig is like can I please have some donkey milk with my breakfast!Lol!❤
Here we cut split and stack this year to burn next year. Now I must say if we have to burn some we cut early in the year we know we have to keep the damper open a little more. Also we leave a lot of rounds whole to bank the fire at night. That has to be dry. Hope this helps. 😊🙏🏼
Izzy gets me everytime 😂.Thank you for all your'lls prayers. God bless you and your family. ❤❤❤❤❤ from South Africa.
Izzie is a great smaker while eating, I love that pig!!
Been watching your shows since back at your last house. I think your doing good. I think the occasional "thank God" probably helps.
God blesses you because you honor him always!
Hello Chad and Rae, I just love to check out your herd and the way they respond to you. Junebug I love her and Izzy is so adorable. And Allie is one beautiful Animal. Thanks for sharing your farm with us. 🙏🙏🙏🙏prayers for all in need🤗🤗💞💞💙💙
If I had my dreams come true I would have the space I've always dreamed of and I would purchase MJ in a heartbeat. He is a beautiful bull, I hope whoever buys him will continue to video him so we can all see him once he's full grown and making his own babies.

Your hair looks great❣️❣️❣️
Prayers all around
🙏🏻🧡🖤💛🙏🏻
Love seeing the cows at the new fence
Thanks for the prayers for my family in Florida. All are accounted for and safe. We are blessed. The are basically waiting for power to come back on, which could be tomorrow or 2 weeks.
Howdy guy's! My favorite time of the day has come and gone. Thank you for the video. Take care, have a wonderful evening and God Bless you all!!!❤😊🙏
Hate to tell you this Chad, but your wood can’t be “too” dry. We used to cut junipers when it got cold before we got our wood out in the forest and those junipers were old and dead! They made a great fire in the fireplace and I burned juniper (basically cedar) in my wood stove in Washington State for years! I would burn 🔥 my wood stove really hot 🥵 at first to burn out the creosote from the night before.
Opinions are like A**holes, everyone has them!!
Fiona and Maximus are going to make beautiful babies!!
I’m praying for my 40x40, that hopefully will incorporate my grandparents land, the land sold to pay for the folks house being built.
Exactly. We always used the older and even rotting wood to start as the base of our fires. Because it will catch fire quicker.
We always cut ours in summer for the following winter. Full year to season. That’s what grandpa taught me anyway. May depend on your area too.
I pray God continues to bless you and your family.
❤😊❤ You crack me up Chad! God bless! Prayers for all in need.
MJ is stunning. I think he will mellow as he gets a little older. He really seems like he wants to reach out just still is a little leery. His mama taught him a little too well😁
We dodged the blunt of the storm thank the Lord prayers for the families south of us I'm in Clearwater just north of the storm we got rain and winds not much damage power was out for a while but it came back on about 3pm got most of the stuff cleaned up
Chad, you're doing a fine job. Just remember, opinions are like a******* everybody's got one. The only thing I'd like to see is a drone view of your property from above. Just for what the heck of it. Rock on brother.
I love those dogs they are so cute
Howdy Chad and the whole Doss family.❤❤
Purple finches are so pretty! I used too love to split wood with a maul and splitter!! I’m 70 and retired!!
😅
So majestic looking long horn cattle walk. Love it. I remember the highlands frozen water trough, burger boys. Case and Adler were younger kids. Adler and his lollipops and his cute comments.
@@elviraobregon5414 I too remember those days and Adler calling the goats ‘ doats’ .🥰
What a hard working U-tube creator!
Beautiful property! I’m so happy for you guys! The journey isn’t always pleasant but God always turns those moments and memories around for His good. 💯❤️
God has truly Blessed you and your family!🙏🙏🕊️🕊️

It is your choice to do whatever you want I had two wild mustangs born on my land and I didn't halter train them and they are great

GOD knows what we want and Gives Us What We Need Chad.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hope you have the opportunity to keep in touch with MJ's new owners. I'd love to be able to see some pictures of him all grown up. If he is even half as handsome as his Dad, he'll be magnificent. 😊
You are absolutely right on halters!! Plus, they are very dangerous out in pasture, the halters I mean. Although, God help anyone pulling shenanigans with me or my family around the donks!!! Much love and blessings to you and yours, from Montana!
Allie is such a pretty little thing! 🥰
Thank you for setting up the Red Cross donation, I wanted to make a donation and it was very easy to do from your link.
Hello from Central Texas. Enjoying the videos of the great livestock, the cute donkeys, and Izzy, can't leave out the three dogs. Hello Rae. How are your allergies? Love it when you take us riding with you to so many places on your land. June bug is still my favorite after meeting him on your 20 acres. The babies are growing, but still love watching them running around. Still.praying for all of the people who have been living through the two hurricanes. Also for the families who have lost members because of the horrible weather and tornados. Love and hugs as always.
Hello Doss family. Thank you for prayers for us in Florida. Thank God we made it without damage. We did lose power for 2 1/2 days but thanks to the line men and women we are good again. Now just playing catch up on my favorite videos. God bless you all.
Chad, the harder you try to get the best human being you can be the more miserable people will pick you apart, or try to. Don’t waste your time responding to them. You’ll never get that time back and no matter what you say they will always be right in their miserable eyes. God bless them is all I can say🙏🏻
I’m teaching 😉
@@DossFarm ahh! 👍
A respectable response doesn't make anyone a miserable person.
You should do a video shot at night of the lights on the Oklahoma (Kentuky)4- board fence posts.
I, too, say a big thank you for your prayers for those of us in Florida!! We have been without power for two days and have a lot of yard work to do, but we are here!! Thank you Jesus!!!
Here in FL with no power since 7:15 pm Wednesday. The power co has been giving updates via text messages and they will be assessing the damage later on this afternoon (Friday) before they can say when power will be restored. Thanks for prayers. Just a lot of tree branches down in both front and backyard. And the pool is green again before the storm you could see the bottom and it was getting better. However, the magnolia tree blew leaves in the pool. On a good note pool guys will be here later today. At least it’s cooler we had a high of 80 yesterday with a 16 mph wind so it felt like mid 70’s.
Chad you guys do whatever works for you and the animals. Since you have a shoot where you can flip the cattle or donkeys to trim hooves then halter training isn’t necessary. I would have to halter the horses and donkey when a farrier would come to trim their hooves. They were just pets and on a 5 acre pasture. The owners did not have a shoot in order to trim their hooves. Since you have a shoot halter training isn’t necessary immaterial.
Love beans and taters and Franklin
Exactly right I made a pet out of our charlia bull and I got in trouble because I did it in third grade but I love it
Hello, and the animals are very happy when getting their goodie’s and their fast for as big as they are And you do have a beautiful young bull and he will make beautiful babies 😊 I wish you all the best in finding him a new home 😊thank you for sharing with us. Blessings to all! 😊😊
Ain’t GOD good to us so many blessings. ❤❤❤❤😊
You had two cute supervisors watching you stack wood.😂
I just love Izzy the pig especially when she eats ❤❤😂😂
Great video! Thank you. God bless Deuces! ✌🏻✌🏻🫶🏻
I enjoy your podcast so much and grandpa doss to thank you for sharing with us its so nice
Hi Chad, when you're stacking your wood, how about mixing in the old wood with the newly split wood.
Place looks amazing
Yall are just living the dream!! Love all the family videos. Your mom and dad are the best. God has blessed them, too. Thanks for sharing!! Allie is beautiful!!
West central MN. got to 80° today. Hot for us. Lol
I love the little head tilt”s’up” thing Allie does
I'm so glad Lilly and Bdonk get along so well. They are a good fit. Always enjoy.
Hello Chad and Rae i have to say that Glory horns are impressive Allie is a beautiful calf in fact your whole herd is gorgeous and i really love Junebug she has won my heart every since just before she had Franklin have a blessed weekend
Loved this slow laid back video this morning. I love all your animals so much and all your family. I wish I wasn’t 74 years old so I could start a little farm. I’ve learned so much from you Chad. Well, I’ll just enjoy yours. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️❤️🐮🐮🐮
Alli loves feed day she thinks everyone playing with her.😂😂😂❤❤❤
God knows what we need when we need it and when we are ready to take care of it.😊
Chad love how you teach those who do not have animals but try to tell you have to run your farm animals. You, Rae and all your family know how to run your farms and what works for your different animals. Love Tipsy’s black nose, MJ is a beautiful bull and will make some one a great bull for their ladies, Allie is so so beautiful and she wants so bad to let you close but is still Leary but she will be one who will be eating out of your hand. Love your donkeys! Lilly is beautiful and Dude will make a great donkey for a farm where he can run the show. Keep up what you love to do and God Bless you, Rae and your boys.
It’s a beautiful fence, you should paint it white.
