    Ciao Paul,
    in one video two of my requests have been answered:
    1) One fragrance set up: Here we are with this fantastic Citrus shave. That Truefitt & Hill looks really a good shaving cream!
    2) Bar soaps: Wrights, Pears and Imperial Leather showed up!
    I appreciated the result of the shave: your skin looks relaxed and well treated.
    Have a nice week
    Raffaele

    I just used a Micromatic for the first time today. It is a serious razor. Not for beginners. I loved it! I only did one pass though. I wasn't sure if I could continue without a lot of blood.

    One more thing, Paul. I completely agree that you have to be patient with DE shaving, especially if you're using more aggressive razors. It takes time to adapt to the properties of certain products, and you learn little tips and tricks over time. After a year of DE shaving, things have improved exponentially. I've had very rough shaves with my FaTip because it was far more aggressive than what I was used to, but I stuck with things and continued to grow and learn. Cartridge razors are designed to be foolproof, as long as you prep your face and apply soap, you'll probably get a good shave (unless you have really sensitive skin). DE shaving is more like a skill, it takes a few shaves to get all the little quirks of shaving with these razors, such as getting the right angle and using no pressure.

    Paul, The GEM Micromatic Open Comb was patent as the Great Depression started. It was sold through out the 1930s and into the 1940s.
    I average 7 shave with a blade. One a R41 I average on two shave with a blade.

    Hi Paul, hope you enjoy your visit to the Leeds shop. It's an excellent place with a good selection and friendly staff - also give out free fudge and samples with each purchase! You'll find it in the grand arcade in Leeds, about 5mins walk from the station. There's also a traditional barber next door if that's of any interest! All the best :)

    There is a German Guy who( I don't think ) does not make shaving videos per se but he made one demonstrating shaving with a "real" Cut Throat straight razor and the sound his blade made was remarkably similar to sound made by this SE razor. My buddy suggested I buy some from Cannaught shaving dot com and I found some got around 2-pounds 40. Or £2.40. Did I say it right? LOL anyway I think it was around four dollars or so in US money. Keep up the good job bro.

    Nice shave Paul. I didn't know you could get blades like that. wondering where you get them? Also thanks for showing the soap's brought back memories my dad shaved with a DE razor and didn't use a shaving soap just what whatever my mum get in for the family which was imperial leather. I remember getting him some shaving soap for Christmas one year and he was so good said thanks and we found it years later when he was ill and I said why didn't you use it? He replied I didn't because I was hoping to run out if soap and there was always some on the sink so I just used that. plus it I never used shaving soap when I was in the army so why now.

Maybe the Gillette Slim Adjustable? I'll join you with that and use mine on Sunday too. I just ordered a lemon soap and aftershave called "here come the sun" by K Shave Worx. They are husband and wife artisans soap makers about 4 or 5 hours away in New York State where I also live. It's great supporting small and local businesses, especially to good friendly people.

    There's nothing quite like getting a smooth shave, eh? Shaving has become quite enjoyable for me lately. Went out and bought a FaTip Piccolo at your suggestion in a previous vid (have a Grande) and I also ordered the closed comb FaTip Testina Gentile along with it. Curious to see how good the closed comb version is. Wish you all the best. By the way, since your channel is called PaulHFilms, I think you could get away with putting cooking videos on here, if you'd like. Anyone who's not interested can just skip it.

      +KingofWisdom What Fatip of all of them do you find mildest? I'm not owning one but was curious...

    • @KingofWisdom
      @KingofWisdom 8 років тому +1

      +William Owen I have only used the FaTip Grande, however, the FaTip Piccolo has the same head, the difference is the Grande has a slightly longer hollow handle and the Piccolo has a slightly shorter solid handle. The new FaTip Testina Gentile is their new closed comb model that is supposed to be milder, but still an efficient razor. Mine hasn't arrived in the mail yet, so I can't really give you my personal experience with it at this point. Hope that helps.

      William Owen The Fatip open comb razors have a reputation for being really aggressive, and they are efficient, but if you master your technique they can be used as a daily driver with no issues. I've now used the Fatip Testina Gentile for one shave, and I will say it's considerably more mild than the open comb.

    Yes it was a very nice shave! Do the single edge blades hold an edge better and if so is it because they see thicker blades? You had said you usually get three shaves and the there done! why don't you get six shaves from a double sided razor, since you would get three per side? Flowers excellent choice! The shirt you had on looked very good on you , nice color for you might buy more for other things goes good for you! Yes to the cooking video! Like that's a surprise to ya from me! :-) Also next video Scoff would be nice maybe pepperoni pizza with Peri and some little wedges of onion and cucumber that have been soaked in vinegar! :-) oh! That would be so lovely right now! maybe while doing the cooking video while something was cooking to fill time you could show how to make the onion and cucumber ! My mouths just starting to pucker a little thinking about it! Sitting here on the edge of the bed at 2:00am hungry AGAIN thanks to you! :-) lol... With shaving cream on the side of the bed cause you got to close to the mirror and it fell through! It does smell like lime kinda like Key lime Pie! Omg! See what you've done more food I can't stop! What is it with your videos! :-) atb Mr. Paul it was worth the wait staying up for the video now off for a quick Scoff about in the kitchen then to bed! :-)
    Mark in Texas!

    • @PaulHFilms
      @PaulHFilms  8 років тому

      +Mark Martin They are slightly thicker Mark yes, I can get more than 3 shaves in honesty, but it does depend..you use both sides of the DE blade during a shave, if you only used one, you woud probably get 6 shaves...good to try. sorry to make you hungry..lol..I may make some more onions and cucumber, will film it maybe.....all the best..Paul.

    Good shave Mr Paul...I think I recognize that blade...It is used by painters to remove old paint from wood...Much to harsh for my tender face...lol...Now tell the truth...did Mrs H leave those flowers for you...Very nice and far beyond your flower arranging Skills...lol...Your neck looked a little red at the end...and the shave sounded very rough ...I'm thinking we could modify that razor for use with a normal blade and just flip the blade over alter 3 or 4 shaves...per side.....Your thoughts...You could call it the "Pauly"...lol...Well I guess your cooking for one today...did you buy enough Beer...lol....don't forget to clean the litter...Cheers

      +William Trexler Thanks Bill, this sounded worse than it felt, really had a nice smooth shave, amazing, yes Mrs H did them before she left..lol.You could modify the razor, would be good infact to see an SE razor made for using half DE blades.....will blitz the place clean before Her Majesty gets back..lol.

    Joe in Queens did a GEM shave not that long back, Man that guy moves fast LOL.. Oy Gevalt!! I'd cut myself to ribbons moving that quick LOL
    Great shave again Paul! I might see if I can find a nice example or start looking at the new breed like the "Mongoose"

      +Mark O'Cain Nice thing about the "Mongoose" is you'll have a more Ridgid blade , No room for deflection , Solid connection , Safer , Only one side exposed and from what I understand very easy to find the angle , able to get in close to those sensitive areas...

    Paul , us london types insist on some respect for your betters - we like the fact you "peasants" use wilkinson sword gear - it benefits all us posh london types the ability to have plenty of "decent" stuff in stock , while you "peasants" use the cheaper stuff . - JOKING MATE ! - good video , nice razor - almost bought one today , but some forum guy says its a very aggressive razor , and i only like a risk free shave these days . You need to try out the above the tie slant s1 .... i do have the open comb slant s2 also .... just the head though - i suppose if you like you could try it out ? offers there , but your need a handle!

      +technicaly brilliant This made me laugh..lol...this razor does have a bite to it, but I found it very smooth, and thanks for the offer, but I may get one at some point, very kind of you though, appreciate it.... all the best...Paul.
