If this truly is a vinyl notebook then it is dangerous. There are some materials that should not be cut/engraved on a laser. PVC, Vinyl, Teflon, polyurethane and polycarbonate. All of these will release dangerous off gassing. In the case of Vinyl and PVC they release hydrochloric acid (HCl) which can damage your lungs and your machines metal. Nice logo and keep doing interesting projects

That's why a good extraction/ventilation system is TOP priority! What you don't see off-frame in the video are open windows and a fan blowing the fumes outside.

I think you meant to say Hydrogen Chloride (HCI) (gas), not hydrochloric acid (aqueous solution)

I'm also putting together a box to cover the entire machine and a much stronger extraction/ventilation that will draw the fumes from inside the box and exhaust it outside through various filters to minimize pollution
