You could take any vehicle road legal and let it have a rolling start at top speed and right when it passes the dragster, the dragster will still beat it to the finish line.
It helps get rid of any grit that may have gotten stuck to the tires after the burnout. You want to make sure as much of the rubber is exposed to get the best lockup
Fun fact, a dragster engine typically last one Race and then have to be rebuilt again

This is false. Only a top fuel dragster. this goes along with pro mods, funny cars, and AA and so on. Normal dragsters do not need to be rebuilt.
