I didn't like the cabbage you bought. It had brown marks all over the exterior and looked old. The vendor as you moved forward had better looking cabbages at timestamp 20:36. Maybe you should have waited as those fresher cabbages were at a stall right after you purchased the one that you did. Your friend holding the purchases in the bag should have rejected that cabbage .

Crack crack crack you make me laugh for saying this. The country they help is Dominican Republic and also Dominican Republic has good leaders. While Haiti are paying a price because they were the first who broke the chain. We are paying a price for what we did in the past. The English carribean are still under British rules so therefore everything is going well for them. While Haiti has been destroyed by the international community by using the same Haitians to do their job.

I understand the concern but in earlier videos of AT’s Haiti visit, we saw Haiti’s commitment to maintaining forestation thru national forestation events. Conservationists (some with cruel intentions) put a chokehold around Haiti by branding it a deforested hellscape which counter-reporting has questioned if this was accurate portrayal. Furthermore, “poorer” countries are held to a standard that “wealthier” nations don’t hold themselves to. Haiti has made inroads in combatting deforestation, that needs to be highlighted and championed rather than lecturing the few who believe in the old school way like the rest of the world.

I don’t buy charcoal in Haiti because that’s the main deforestation and flooding issue. I wish they would make it illegal.

There is no infrastructure and the cost of propane is out of the reach for too many. In the Dominican Republic the cost of a gallon of propane is $2.31. In Haiti everything cost several times more. The DR has an efficient supply and distribution system for propane, as it used almost exclusively for cooking and for many cars. The DRs GDP is almost 10 times more than Haiti. You can see satellite images of Haiti and see the deforestation.

@@jacquelinem2873 even in the countryside Haitians have money to re-up their cell phone minutes. That excuse is tiring. Look deeper into why it’s cheaper in the DR. Their government made it illegal to cut down trees decades ago. The loss of trees cause flooding and landslides in Haiti which kill people. Gasoline is expensive yet Haitians find a way to buy it. I’ve seen with my own eyes Haitians cutting trees to make charcoal. It’s not safe for the environment or people.
