The reason I mentioned apples and oranges is that there are differences in the way that cluster balloons, hot air balloons and gas balloons are flown - They all have their own idiosyncrasies. I'm basing that partly on things that I learned from a talk he gave on the history of lighter-than-air flight about 15 years ago, so I'm surprised to hear he made that kind of absolute statement.

I grew up with adults with no hobbies but living life miserably but doing drugs and drinking even after working, so I grew up thinking adult life is always going to be tragic and boring like that. Just minutes later, I would soar out over the White Cliffs, and the English Channel. So, he not only saw me fly by first thing in the morning, but he saw me flight right at the English Channel! (I crossed the channel, made landfall in France at the lighthouse of Dunkirk, and landed just short of the Belgian border.)
