there are around a dozen montisorri daycares around my neighbourhood. Every day during the week, between the hours of 9 am and noon, they all go for walks I have never seen a group of young children tied together and huddled together in this fashion until recently with the explosion of these babysitter units I asked a group, why are they tied together and holding that rope? They told me for safety as the street was vary dangerous I live in a neighbourhood with many quiet streets, they were going down one that has moderate traffic at best. I said try a different street, this was ignored and the conversation ended. I have had to, and others as well, tell them to share the sidewalk with the rest of the people they come across, as they tend to be more of an advertisement for their business than doing any sort of good for the kids, hogging the sidewalk and forcing everyone to leave the sidewalk and either trespass across lawns or onto the street to get around them Take them to a park, let them run around, do stuff that makes sense for young kids, but to have them all in colored vests tied together with little bands and holding a rope - in the name of safety - taking them down the busiest street they can find in a neighbourhood full of quiet ones, hogging sidewalks and then having, as i said, a DOZEN of them all mulling about during the same stretch of morning is becoming absolutely INFURIATING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are not exactly quiet places in the daytime, and it seems more like these montisorris are psychologically harming these kids, I've never seen in my life in canada kids being roped together and then paraded down the street as if too stupid to find the ground, it all seems like they do this as advertisement what does it say to young kids when they get tied to the kid next to them to go for a walk down the street? Mom and dad don't do that, do they?
Because of a lack of daycare I am in the same situation where I am now without a job because I have to look after my 15 month old, no idea when we can get in. We are lucky to be able to afford this but we are living pay to pay here, should inflation escalate more we will be worse off.
Just typical of incompetent leadership.
