I have this entire series queued for March of this year. I love how you peel back the layers of the books you're reviewing. I can't wait to finally read these. This review has me pumped.

Thank you for sharing! I absolutely love the movies! But I think I’ll give the books a try.

I hope you enjoy them! They are slower moving than the movies - especially the first one, but it’s a cozy type of reading.

The Lord of the Rings 💍 🙌🏽 I will be reading this book before the spring. I love the movies, but I understand the books are more detailed and exciting!

The LOTR movie trilogy are some of my favs also! I've had the book boxed set for YEARS & remember trying to read the 1st book in middle or HS. I don't remember if it was too wordy, too difficult to understand, and/or if I was too young to appreciate it. I am SO incredibly intimated to get into them! Maybe I'll try to hop into them after I finish my 3rd reread of HP! Great review! Thanks for the energy, time, & effort you put into your reviews!

My favorite book(s)! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve read LOTR. Gotten to the point where on a whim I’ll just pick up one of the books and start reading to fill a few minutes of free time, because I know the story so well. Tolkien is such a master of language, the words seem to flow so easily. Thanks for sharing your insights!

I struggle with fantasy. I will continue to read it on occasion, but I have a hard time immersing myself in fantasy worlds which I believe is essential if you’re going to make it through thousands and thousands of pages. I’ve only read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings but would like to complete the series. Oddly enough, I’d also like to try Game of Thrones. I’m a fantasy reader wannabe. Rambling comment from me, excellent review from you. ❤

Haha I know what you mean! It very picky with fantasy because you definitely have to be invested in the world. I have a hard time with super high fantasy where the world of so complex, it’s hard to follow. Oooh game of thrones is a nice balance, I think, between good characters and an interesting fantastical world.

I wish I could read a lot of books and actually finish them like you. I'm actually working on books and I was able to have one published. It's called "Amy and the Faith Scouts - The Diamond of Dandasterton." It's a novel and it took almost a year to write it. I'm so happy it's finished and published. I'm working on other books right now and the fact that you read so many books last year is an encouragement to me as a teenage author to keep on writing. Happy New Year!

Yes, it is very good, tho to my mind the romances in it are a little weak. There really is only one: Aragorn and Arwen, and it could lead to the conclusion that Tolkien sees powerful love as an emotion for a great character, while for the others it's biology, politics, or convenience.

Haha yea though I’m not sure how many people come to these books for the romance, the little that is there. Though I’m personally a big fan of Aragorn and Arwen 😂

I love the films but still haven’t given the books a go, will do. I wonder what your take on annotating books are? Do you write your thoughts down on the margins or somewhere else

The books are so cozy 😍. I annotate everything I read and then to draft my reviews, I outline the review in a notebook, using my annotations.
