We did this too. It's called "pucken" in germany. This calms the babies down because it is also "trapped" in mom's tummy there is not much room. I can say it's not a bad thing for them if you don't over do it :) ♡

It’s totally normal to swaddle your baby for one, and two it’s normal to use gentle lotion made for babies on them after a bath. It helps calm them down, and get them ready for sleep. Also, baby massage is a recommended thing. Just look it up before you assume anything about babies especially if you have never had a child.

This randomly popped up, but I just wanna say, I babysat an older toddler once and she was a horrible sleeper. Always waking up and staying up waaayyy too late, and it was a detriment on her parents who didn't know what to do. When I looked after her I would read her a book quietly, and then gently rub lotion on her arms, shoulders and face for a quick massage. I would see her eyes immediately start to droop, and well, I never had any issues with her. Parents were in awe, but really, all it takes is a bit of extra time for relaxation.
