Indeed they are. South Park does have a decent amount of continuity so it’s a bit odd to bounce around multiple seasons.
Right? Then they say "I feel like we missed something" - yeah, you missed a whole shitload of seasons worth of content to get to this episode, I'd think that would be expected going in.

If you guys ever watch the (1957) movie, 12 Angry Men, the man (John Fiedler) who originally voiced Piglet is one of the jurors in that movie.
The band episode is “Something You Can Do With Your Finger,” or the way I refer to it, the “Fingerbang” episode.
If you going to hop around episodes so much, id recommend keeping it below season 18-19, around then it gets real canonical and confusing.
Again,season 19 and above have continuity, you really need to watch them in order.
Probably a little late now, but yes you should start at the beginning. There's not a ton of continuity until later seasons, but enough to make watching it in order worthwhile. Fingerbang is like season 2
Chinpokomon is a funny season 3 episode. :) Also, I think this season and the one before is a part of a long storyline about Randy getting into the weed selling and growing business. Obviously he is already established in this episode. There are even video games that have to edit skulls and other images of death or it can't/won't be sold in China. "anything that “violates Chinese culture” or “promotes superstition” is banned." "Thus game designers are very careful about anything that seems like dishonoring ancestors or the dead, or promoting superstitions. Furthermore, skeletons are seen as scary content and causes increased scrutiny" I think 8:39 is a play of a death in No Country for Old Men. Even the shot where Randy is only shown on his side lol
This episode is better than I remember. I wasn't big on Season 23 when it came out but this has aged like a fine wine lol.
Must watch Woodland critter christmas and then the Imaginationland trilogy- to really ruin your childhoods. JK. Great reactions to a great episode.
It's not your guys fault if you don't understand some references, if you want more context to certain things the episodes to watch are: Something You Can Do With Your Finger (for "Fingerbang" aka the band episode) and the Ring (for the Mickey Mouse backstory). People should really warn you of context if there's continuation you need before recommending an episode. Most episodes don't but it's not true of all the episodes, especially those from later seasons.

People apparently say avoid the first few seasons, but as someone who saw them as they happened, so long ago now, I say binge them privately. There're so many great moments in those early ones that even the names of the episodes are iconic.
I also watched South Park in one of those 2 ton CRT TVs when they aired them, the earlier seasons are good and were wild for that time, people dont realize South Park was big back in the day and Cartman’s catch phrases were popular in school
There are at least 50 better episodes than this one. Who are the dummies that are recommending episodes??

Probably shouldn't be jumping to the somewhat recent seasons before getting through the classics. You are going to not understand so much. Season 19 and up have a lot of continuity. They are also not as good as seasons 4-12
I don't know who is recommending these episodes. But you have picked some awful episodes lately

Killing Winnie the Pooh is a parody of the opening scene of "No Country for Old Men."
You need to watch it 'cause it's my favorite movie and gives off similar vibes and themes to Breaking Bad and vice-versa, if you have or haven't seen all that.
Also, nobody will talk about it, but Rian Johnson specifically put the kiss between the Asian Rose Tico and the Black Finn in _The Last Jedi_ as an affront to Chinese racial sensitivities. And I don't think anyone believes it was a coincidence that the relationship and Rose Tico's character was all but missing from _The Rise of Skywalker._ Finn clapping Rose on the back in TROS and saying, "See you later buddy," was probably more palatable to Chinese censors than was the kiss from TLJ.
Anyone who pronounces biopic as bio pic is a person I'd never talk to ever again. Also, the little joke there is yes - the kids are from the 90s - they've been like the same age since 1996.

Episodes that feature story lines of the boys being in a band are Season 4 Episode 8 "Something you can do with your finger" and Season 7 episode 9 "Christian Rock Hard" both excellent episodes.
When South Park goes after someone/something, they GO AFTER them. It’s always a pleasure to see.
It's even worse then censorship, they actually dumb down the scripts because of the language barrier. A good example of this is in Independence day 2 the sequel where they made the scientist from the first movie a gay punchline and had his butt hanging out running around the hospital. It was completely ridiculous and his entire character changed from eh first movie. They do this because you can understand that terrible humor without speaking the language. Not to mention there are all kinds of asians in those movies now, same with kong. Hollywood panders to China, and it needs to stop. If China wants our products then they need to take em as is we should never censor anything for the CCP.
I love you guys, but you really are doing yourselves a MASSIVE disservice by not watching the seasons in order. Or at least watching an itemized list in order.

I dislike when you don't have necessary context or background, but I like that you watch episodes that look interesting to you or that a lot of people recommend to you. Watching over 300 episodes chronologically would mean reacting some pretty mediocre episodes that generate little interest.
The scene of Randy killing Pooh was a playoff of the opening scene from No Country For Old Men.

I’m just a lowly tv viewer but I wonder sometimes if it’s worth it for SP to have b plots in their episodes sometimes. Like just focusing on their main characters would be funnier than having to randomly connect it to Randy or someone else all the time.
I love you guys but to nitpick can you please stop mentioning how you feel like you miss some things it should be obvious that watching a show 20+ seasons long in the fashion you have that many things will go over your head callbacks or references to culture at the time just stick to your guns or start from the beginning and I hope you aren't doing the same in the Seinfeld reactions that were started in a similar fashion feel their fans might be harsher that NP fans

Star Wars' China Poster did not take finn off the poster but it Shrinks him or his image was made smaller.

Im not sure who voted for this ep - but this whole seasons pretty much has to be seen in order. The whole shake up with Randy makes zero sense otherwise and most of the eps are not standalone which makes them a bit of a swing and a miss. These seasons were less popular than in the past because of the weird continuity they tried to bring to it
Yeah this is a part of the tegrity series. I’d recommend certain episodes before others. Some seasons are continued storylines.
