“Judge for YOURSELF.” ;) Este video es importantísimo para sonar relajado y natural. Muchas veces, necesito pausar para recoger los pensamientos. No es que no sé las palabras en español, mejor dicho es que no sé qué quería compartir o me falta la palabra para la situación. Tener un bolsillo lleno de estas muletillas será muy útil para todas! Gracias, paulisima!
yes . Judge by yourself would mean alone in a corner somewhere, whereas judge for yourself would mean judge according to your own morals and principals
Muy bien. Soy colombiana. Creo que el "este" lo usan más los mexicanos. Pues en mi caso, no uso el este para hacer exposiciones, jamás! En ese caso, hablo muy en serio y formal. Y en las conversaciones entre amigos sí lo uso pero sólo si no recuerdo algo y empiezo a pensar mientras digo "... esteee"
Hey, Nelly. I fell in love with Colombia about 6 months ago. I'm Italian/American and I'm trying to learn Colombian Spanish. I only watch TV shows that are in Spanish, with translations now and I'm learning quite a bit. I'm watching Pedro, El Escamoso now, I'm on episode 88 with a lot more to go!! I love this show..I'm addicted to it and its characters. I want to visit Colombia and throw myself into the culture and l just saw that there is a travel warning to Colombia. I almost cried!!! It looks so beautiful. Just wanted to say hello and tell you that I love your country!!! 💙💙💙🇨🇴🇨🇴
Haha, "a mediocre yes", I love that.
Although the filler words may make you sound more like a native speaker, I wouldn't recomend to use specifically "este" like in this examples, I know they are a little exaggerated to prove the point but it makes you sound like a distracted person
You NEVER EVER used filler words when you learned a new language or have you NEVER learned another language before? The filler words will happen with beginners because they are translating to spanish from their native language (likely english), so its a pregnant pause while the mind searched for the proper word & word order. Its virtually unavoidable for beginners.
Great video! I had heard most of these, but I didn’t know what many of them meant or where they came from. I have a question about “pues.” My girlfriend completes a phone call with “Ok, pues” when she is talking with one of her sisters. I always assumed that it was a contraction of “después.” Could it just be the filler word instead?
Óraaale!!! Chingonsisimo el video. Where were you when I started learning Spanish lol. It took me years before I had heard and learned how to use those muletillas and you have explained them so well in what is probably the best lesson ever made on the subject. Awesome work! You have a new subscriber and thanks for this fantastic video!!!!
I would be pretty cool if the words in Spanish on screen were the same color as the corresponding word (s) in English...like yellow, white, yellow..etc.
I would just typically say, "What's up? or How is it going? But would spanish speakers say ¿Cómo está yendo? It's kind of like when we sneeze, you might say god bless you. That might not make any sense to a native spanish speaker who might say salud , just meaning health or I wish you good health, which makes more sense.
When asking for something specific it's more common, not so much as a way to say hello. ¿Cómo está yendo la edición? ('How's the edition going?'-you ask if they're struggling with it or everything is going well). Anyways, asking just ¿Cómo va la edición? is also correct and more common
But when one is LEARNING a new language, there is translating in one's head, so the filler words/sounds (muletillas) will be there anyway, because we have to think through our speech more! She was trying to be helpful!
I would advise learners to avoid these muletillas. They don't sound good or complimentary on native speakers in the first place. God knows what this woman was thinking with this video. 🙄 This video should be titled "how to sound like an inarticulate moron in a second language". 😭

Those chimes are so loud and high pitched they hurt my ears. Please do something about that in future videos.

Not only a great teacher but a great actress too...
These are so good and so practical! Loving these for brushing up on Spanish before going down to CDMX

But you guys wouldnt pronounce the final '-s'! it sounds like sabe!

It seems like she is saying 'ok then'. Despues means 'after' as you probably already knew, so wouldnt make sense in context.
@@inconnu4961 Exactamente :D
I just found this channel today, you're so funny! Mucho grascioco (?) 😅 Me encanta
One of my Spanish teachers would often say “vamos a ver” (let’s see).
You can also say just "a ver" (which sound similar to "haber", so it can be confusing at first)

Es verdad que "entonces" se puede usar como "por eso"? Por ejemplo: Mi amigo estaba enfermo y entonces no pudo ir al concierto.
Es correcto
"por lo tanto" también sirve

Judge “for” yourself not “by”
Yes, all true. However, if you have a bad English accent - or other accent - you'll surely NEVER sound much like a native speaker.
If you slow down the subtitles it'd be great, it sounds like you're teaching natives.
