... This demo feels like a step-down from Lingo 1. The puzzles aren't interesting, the music is more grating than Lingo 1's music, and the colours hurt my eyes. I'll just hope 'largely unrelated' means practically nothing seen here is indicative of Lingo 2, but I certainly don't feel hyped for Lingo 2 now. Naughty, naughty demo...
5:50 "Unfortunately we still don't have crouching so I'm technically standing on this seat right now" -- Yeah, as if crouching on the seat is any better lol
it is a reasonable concern i think, lingo had a very clearly unique system, i can only speculate on variation on different types of "middles" or using the keyboard that have yet to be revealed, also a different tester has mentioned the full game already has a significant lot of content. but all secondhand of course, I look forward to experiencing it myself :)
I don't mind the number notations under the word. The problem I have so far is less the system itself and more that the puzzles should only have one valid solution. I... honestly would be fine if they did away with colors and heights entirely. It's very restrictive visually, unfriendly towards colorblind. Tops are unfriendly towards people with different accents or straight up mute. Can create confusion when attached to a wall floor of a different color. Chains and checker boards are weird. And some colors were a bit too open-ended without having to awkwardly place tildes and asterisks on the sides of boxes, which already has the same function as number notation except it's uglier and would have to count a ton of them for bigger words. That said, I'm also not sure if Lingo 2 could address my (admittedly nitpicky) issues in a way that's satisfying and I'm not sure how many word problems can be done with this type of system and I'm also certain that other colors like black will make a return since the rules for white still fit with white.
a problem i have with this lingo 2 mechanic is that addition/subtraction steps don't need to make valid words along the way, for example FUZZIES +2 -2.. whereas lingo 1 made the puzzles fair and clever by needing to think of chains that have real words (btw i just wanna agree with you on phonetic puzzles being unfair in lingo 1, especially in part 2 where some of the answers are outright *objectively* wrong)
Honestly, since the description said that the game would have a completely different rule set and it won't be word puzzle-based, I thought there would be clever mechanics than that.
@@hujkosa710 like actually true, cba 1 was abandoned by its creator after 10 lines of code, and this other guy leonardo stratshotplayer noticed and started working on cba 2
the way it does operations is really interesting since it would maybe allow the player to write in them, also it does solve the issue of not enough colors
I do believe this holds more promise over the color mechanic in lingo 1, there's many ways to make the middle interesting without making it a numerical expression, easier to understand and remember as well.

at this rate lingo 3 will have the jump push you into the floor. that is not a jump, thats hardly better than not even having a jump

Somehow this hurts my eyes even more than Lingo 1
This demo does not inspire confidence, does not look like the sequel will meet the bar Lingo set

The one thing that Lingo could add is an option to see the name of the color.
This is somehow more nauseous than Lingo 1

Hi
I'm glad I still don't understand a SINGLE thing about this game. My brain sucks with works.

Ok and now the entire game is blue middle 😑
Also, the ones with minus are red middle and the ones with both plus and minus are purple middle.
@@metallabx407 and those without any operation are white middle.
