If you don’t understand how absolutely masterful Lupe used this song to portray his own reality of his neighborhood visions then that may just be lost in translation somewhere. The way he not only paid homage to the original by keeping it original, but adding his own spin was genuine and genius. Sometimes we use what inspired us to inspire others. This song did that for me. Sorry it didn’t hit the mark for you…it just might not be relatable. And that’s ok. 😊
