I think people are over-estimating how good it would be with the Bears. They fire coaches all the time and generally lose even more games than the Cowboys. I don't know why Mangini keeps talking about job security and how McCarthy is always on the hot seat. He's more tenured than any of Chicago's last five head coaches. It used to be seen as a negative to have tons of physical gifts without the production to match. Then used to be weary of guys that were athletic phenoms but weren't difference makers in college. Now you can become a first round pick based entirely on the combine and similar workouts.

Look at Seifert in San Fran who inherited Walsh's team. Seifert was a lousy coach who won a SB. Barry Switzer in Dallas who inherited what Jimmy built..McCarthy inherited what Holmgren had built. McCarthy is not a good coach and the Bears and Cowboys should want more for their teams.

Bears had injuries too, our OLine had so many combinations this year, along with some key injuries to our secondary like Brisker. Definitely not as many as the cowboys, but we're not scratch free.

Caleb also had the most turmoil on his team than any rookie QB maybe...ever! Let me see...3 different offensive coordinators, 2 different head coaches, one of the worse Olines in football...ALL IN HIS ROOKIE YEAR!!! You put Jaden Daniels or any other rookie, they won't be as successful either! Despite all that Caleb is the FIRST QB ever to have at least 20 TDS and less than 10 interceptions with a minimum of 500 pass attempts in a year. First QB ever! He played decent despite all the turmoil!
Bears had injuries too, our OLine had so many combinations this year, along with some key injuries to our secondary like Brisker. Definitely not as many as the cowboys, but we're not scratch free.

Wildes is right, a "ceiling" must be at least somewhat based in reality, because otherwise we get into conversations like "well Dak may have a higher ceiling because his intangibles bring out better performance from his team and would have more success overall blah blah blah". Caleb is just too theoretical to act like he has some unbelievable ceiling at this point.

I'm surprised nobody brought up Dak's contract. Imo that contract is what kills the cowboys chances of winning a Superbowl anytime soon. At least with Caleb, his production doesn't necessarily need to reach Dak's peak since the Bears have more money to strengthen the cast around Caleb
