- Two songs by Pauline Viardot: 'Aimez-moi ma mignonne' (from Six chansons du XVe siècle, published 1886) sung by Françoise Masset accompanied by Françoise Tillard
(on an 1843 Erard piano) and 'Hai luli!' (from Six mélodies et une havanaise, published 1880) sung by Cecilia Bartoli accompanied by Myung-Whung Chung.

I love the way Pauline viardot sang because why not to say she is one of the best.
Only compliments. Two brilliant singers and the most attractive music. Didn't know Pauline Viardot until a few days ago and when exploring her work it is one jewel after another. The sphere reminds me of several songs of the Chants d'Auvergne by Canteloube(1879-1910), but since Pauline Viardot lived from 1821-1910 one can only conclude that hé must have heard of Pauline, to say the least! But if not, it is pure enjoying when listening to both French composers.
Thanks for this. I had forgotten that she was a singer, until I saw the photos of her as Orféo! I didn‘t realize she was a composer too!

Does Anyone know where I can get the first song’s exact lyrics as she sang please? thanks
PLease tell me if you know what was written there during the second song, the caricature which starts: „Ca c‘est...“ and ends with „...ta voix.“ I cannot read it properly!
It's Chopin saying "ça, c’est le jeu de Liszt! Il n’en faut pas pour accompagner la voix" basically "you are playing Liszt style! That's no good for accompanying the voice." The drawing is by George Sand's son Maurice. Apparently Viardot had taken piano lessons with Liszt and later made friends with and played with Chopin.
Does anyone know where to buy this sheet music?
