Vossen’s powder coating is not durable at all. Any contact with any type of metal and they chip or scratch. So if you choose a dark color finish like Anthracite, which I chose; once you scratch it you can see it from a mile away. I would expect them to be more durable for the cost.
mine are still in their boxes in the garage. in 2 months though. airbag the Audi 8J TTRS to get those 20" LC2-C1's on :D Cheers for the tour as well, this was awesome to see the full factory doing its thing
Eddie, I have a 2022 F8. Loved the video. Love the look of Vossen wheels, but I am spooked about some of the negative comments about Vossen on the web. What should I look for as a sort of baseline to let me know that I'm dealing with a high-quality wheel, no matter what brand?
Wicked awesome Eddie...Vossen wheels are at the top of the game for sure! Looks like you were maxing out your camera's processor in there...panning left and right faster than the camera could process it causing jitter?
I'm having a set of forged magnesium monoblock wheels made for my 370Z by Litespeed Racing in LA. We're looking at weights of 14 lbs for th fronts and about 15 lbs for the rears. They're going to be in a split Y spoke design and finished with gloss black paint and a clear coat, to match the finish of my car.
Yeah Miami …welcome down to Florida 🌴 There is nothing like some time spent in the great weather with some great wheels. I have to get a set. Do they make them to be also for a smaller wheel arch to fit a 1995 Mercedes E Class w124 ? Or do they just only make there wheels for huge diameter newer model cars and pick up trucks as in the video ?
Miami certainly was nice! Custom forged wheels from vossen can definitely be made for many different sizes but there may be some limitations. I would reach out to them directly with the inquiry!
@@EddieXcool I was just in awe at the process that goes on making them. I would love to have them on one of my cars for sure. Yes Eddie I’ll have to reach out to them. Those carbon wheels look sick!
@@kcw9313 false. We buy our aluminum from the US as well. Also hidden fact that no one knows, The US manufacturer of aluminum (for wheels) is #1 not reliable sometimes and #2 do not offer specific sizes that are commonly used in todays vehicles applications
BC Forged at a fraction of the cost. No way to spin it, less manufacturing costs, raw materials etc. But at the end of the day if HRE, Vossen brand makes you happy great.
They use those robots in the General Motors, Arlington, Texas Plant making the Cadillac Escalade. They are thousands and thousands of dollars amazing machines. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice wheels- still way too expensive. Your over enthusiam was a little distracting. Settle down fan boy. Did you actually show the $12k wheel? He mentioned someone else's 13k-14l carbon wheels. Timestamp for YOUR $12k wheels- anyone? 16:28 questionable laborer in the shop?
Sorry but no wheels are worth $12k. They are just wheels, and almost no one knows the difference between cast and forged. You could get similar wheels for a 3rd of the price and be fine
Seems that maybe the price is so high due to being made in the USA? There are some very nice, quality, forged wheels made in Taiwan for about half the price. But if people have money to burn or are sponsored, I can see the allure of expensive wheels.
Extremely cool visit to the factory. Your engineering background and comments made the tour fun to experience 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!!!
Cool tour- thanks for bringing us along, love their wheels.
Happy you liked it

Why are you scratching your wheels is my question

Damn Robots making wheels, serving coffee, cleaning the floors they taking over😂
Awesome video! I love manufacturing of things I love. Vossen should start matching calipers to their wheel color combos.
Man, I had the same awesome opportunity of touring the facility, it was awesome..
Cool, thanks for sharing/posting. Thanks to Vossen. Love my HF-5's

The lack of safety glasses is surprising, and I say that hating clipboard warriors.
We were caught on a day where no one had eye protection on but everyone has a set in their pocket
loved the tour...have vossen evo 2r 3-piece on my Turbo. so badass
Looking for a set of wheel for a 2023 Porsche Panamera 4s How are you?
Better question is HRE OR VOSSEN?
No hate at all Eddie, but is there a reason as to why you didn’t go with the oem exposed carbon wheels instead?
Covered this in a few videos
Cost was a big factor, also the fact that I likely wouldn’t be driving on them often.
Your vossens look better than any wheel chevy provides for ZO6 including the carbon OEMs!
Thanks!

How does Vossen stack up against HRE?
They don’t. Their forgings come from 🇨🇳 not the higher quality sources from 🇺🇸🇯🇵🇩🇪. This is a UA-cam shill move here.

No wonder, the HF-4T Anthracite would take several weeks. LOL

I may stop by the next time I visit.

Where are my wheels? Made yet ? I placed order 3 wks ago 😅. Wonder why mine were pretty pricy
Very cool
No wonder Thier wheels cost so much. It's so time consuming
12 Grand for alloy wheels, are there actually that many suckers buying these?
More than you can afford, and the guy thing that’s was cheap😂😂😂
