    Hi Sandy! I tried this type of technique, however, used acrylic flash paint, instead of mica's... What a hot mess! This way is Killer, thanks for sharing your talent!

      I suppose the paints have their pluses and minuses, as do the powders.
      Glad you like the technique. Happy creating!

    Very nice, I think I would trim the stamped piece first and then use the mica powder. Thank you so much.

    That is so pretty. What a great video. I'm a newbie so I have a question. Will the mica powder STAY PUT after baking? Or does it get sealed? Thank you for sharing

    LOL,,I even have round metal connecters in silver that I used and it made a better impression than what I normally would!!!!! textures are great fun,and really beautiful jewellery can be made with them ,I don't have mica,s but I used mica eye shadow that I have in about 20 colors,it works well ,but mica powders are better,🍓🍍🌺🌻🌼🌸🌷🌹🍁🍂🍹🍹🍹

      The eye shadows work well and it's fun when we can find them inexpensively and in so many colors. The mica powders usually have more saturated color and more sparkle.

    If you use the roller for the packing tape and lightly press you'll get an even lift so you can use less deep impressions

    Beautiful, you did it again. So is safe to bake a piece after using gilder's wax paste o any other brand?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  8 років тому

      I haven't tried other brands, but have had no problems with baking Gilders paste.

    can you use a small square granite slab to step on your clay to get that deeper design in?
    I'm sure its stronger then tile.

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  8 років тому

      I would only try it if you don't mind breaking your granite slab. :-) I also found it really wasn't the best way to get even pressure. I had one side higher than the other.
      Standing up at my work bench and giving careful, even, prolonged pressure did the trick. It was just difficult to show that on camera.

      Keepsake Crafts - Sandy Huntress I didn't know that granite slab could break to.
      wow you just me some time and money to go get a slab of granite thanks

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  8 років тому

      Granite can break, especially if you get a piece with a vein running through.

    Couldn't you just lightly sand the mica powder off after baking?

    • @SandyHuntress
      @SandyHuntress  7 років тому +1

      I suppose you could, but I prefer to avoid sanding whenever possible. :-D If you try it, let us know how it works out!

    Hi Sandy,your proberly gonna laugh at this,!! but I tryed a little experiment,I conditioned a small piece of clay, and pressed it on to my kitchen cupboard handle,as the handles are curved long handles I pressed on the clay, and it look so cool,the paturn on the handles looks like little circles close together, when I looked at the clay after, it looked like snake skin or dragon scales, its such a shame its on the handles!!!!!!!
