great work... it's amazing how flowers and plants transform the place! just an idea, for your front door and back porch furniture you can use' teak oil' for furniture, it doesn't only make it shine, but it would help the pollen from not sticking since its slippery, lastly, you could use 'cobra shine/one-step' to give your front porch steps a shiny look... as opposed to varnishing with paint!
The outside of your house is so southern looking, so pretty! Yes, I just planted pansies on Saturday and bought some potted flowers. I’ve already mowed our lawn twice, I LOVE gardening, anything to be outside. I personally love to see people’s yards and landscaping. It’s so healing to be outside and enjoy the beautiful plants.🌺🌺🌺
I grew up in the northeast (and live here currently), but I lived for several years in both Alabama and Georgia and I remember coming out to my car in the morning, my red car, and seeing a light green car lol! The pollen was unbelievable! We're having a mixed bag of weather here in the northeast, some days warm, some still quite cold, rain, wind, and I for one cannot wait to be able to spend every day OUTSIDE on our deck, enjoying the sun and flowers and nature.
Everything looks so pretty. I live in North Carolina and we are still having pollen. My little 4 legged fur baby and I are on allergy meds. I'm a out door person and have started cleaning out some of my flower beds. I love love love outside. I'm glad to hear you are a stay home Mom, time flies by so fast, make those memories that no one can take from you. I was a stay home Mom, and wouldn't have changed it for anything! I enjoyed your video and thanks for sharing!
Well done!! Both areas came out so nice. One plant tip I got from my Mamma who grew up on a farm is to 'tickle' the roots of the plant after removing it from the pot and putting it in the new pot or hole in the ground. LOL it helps the plant to get a good start on its new spot. So there you go a tip from me Irish Ma who I miss every single day. She LOVED lavender and that's what prompted me to leave this comment. Thank you 😊❤️ good memories last forever ❤️
I live in Michigan and decided to go ahead and spruce up outside areas like porch, walkways, planter beds. I’ve been bringing hanging baskets in at night though because we are still in low forties overnight! But, it feels so good! Thanks for the inspiration!
I have enjoyed every step of cleaning and staging my yard. I start with a good raking to remove dead leaves and twigs. Then I trim the winter dead’s and trim my perennials so they can grow new spring growth. I love my large front porch so it got all power washed and blankets and pillows. Next I laid new mulch in all my front beds and front porch. I then hit Lowes Plant clearance And scored $3 pitted pansies!! I got a lot of them and arranged them throughout my curving front porch framing beds. I placed 2 $5 ones in my hanging decorative pots and 2 in my urns! Next Zi dolled u the front door with a large homemade wreath my daughter made me when I painted my front door lavender😀💝and then staged a 3 step wrought iron display with bunnies and a lantern all dotted with silk spring flowers for pops of colors. I love my large wicker basket full of silk Spring flowers and place it on a large white wi let chair next to my front door ( amazon loves to hid my deliveries behind this basket) and last I placed my flags of bird scenes 1 large flying on the end of my porch, one small garden size in my front walkway to the door and one hanging on above the wrought iron display with Welcome. I sit here everyday to watch my bird feeders, do my devotional, read and spoil myself with this spot for my family. We do at least one picnic a week on this porch with benches and seats for 5❤️ Patio and pool are this week!! Love this video!!!!
yes down here we get several types of pollen, flowers, then flowering trees then pine trees and oak i wait till last of may to wash and hose down...i did my back last week and new flowers in front as well. made my heart lift.
It looks great! It's amazing what a little updating and cleaning will do! I think leaf blowers are one of THE greatest inventions for the yard! I use mine every few days. It's May 10th and here in MS., the majority of the pollen is gone. We didn't have a bad one this year. I'm going to paint my front door a glossy black, with some new hardware and some new lights. I'm doing major updates inside too. Since March 14th, I've worked in the yard every single day that it hasn't rained and I must say it looks really good. I've worn myself out, but at least it's good exercise. I've cleaned the deck off, but it needs to be pressure washed and stained this year. I got new chair cushions and a new umbrella for the table last summer and they still lookd great. I just love being outside too! You did a great job! Was that TMI? LOL.
Thanks for inspiring all of us and sharing this video of the process. Your cheerful attitude and ideas inspired me to clean up my front porch too! My daughter even helped me wash all the first floor windows for Mother’s Day! Hope you had a Happy smothers Day!
We have been working on our veggie garden and raised beds. The fruit trees are full and my roses are starting to bloom. This helped make the shut in tolerable. I won't give up my gardens...;-)
Loved your classy porch refresh! Yes, lavender will not survive indoors. It needs lots of direct sunlight to thrive. Another important thing is to not over-water them. They need consistent water (especially when they are young and small), but they don't like to "have their feet wet" all the time. Allow the soil to dry out a bit in between waterings, and you should be golden! Some fertilizer every other week during spring and summer will help boost blooms. Good luck!
Hi Amy i have lavender in 3 big pots in my backyard & i notice that the one pot that gets the most sunlight thrives more than the other two. So i moved them all to the same spot for now and they are all growing & looking beautiful.
Everything looks great! We get plenty of pollen in the north too just a little later than the south. Lavender likes full sun and to be on the dry side. If it gets too much water it will wither up. Love your front door wreath.
We’ve had lavender in our front yard for 2 years now. It’s the ONLY plant I haven’t killed. I believe they love full sun and we live in Texas. They are beautiful. Bees love them! They also like well drained soil.
Thank you so sharing your video👍talking about depression I really been feeling depressed, watching your video gave me back some live I enjoyed very much as a matter of fact I going to start decorating my front porch and garden😊 again thank you for the inspiration 👏⚘🍀❤❤
Loved all of your neat ideas ! I am so motivated to doing this to mine! On Mother’s Day my son and daughter in love gifted me with gardening tools since I had mentioned I desired to give the outside the kind of lift you demonstrated! So now I am ready to go 😊😊😊🧤👒❣️
I loved your video Amy! I just did what you did a few days ago and you are absolutely correct, it did make me feel great to be out side in nature and gave me a sense of normalcy during covid-19 time. You are sweet, refreshing and genuine and I enjoyed watching for the 1st time so much. Look forward to seeing more now that I subscribed. Have a bright and beautiful day, Susan in San Antonio Texas
Thank you for sharing! I haven’t done anything outside as of yet. I was feeling a little depressed about it. However, this has inspired me. I have pots on my back deck that really need some love. Now they will get it!
Hi Amy I live in the U.K and today was the first day I got outside cleaned all the furniture and virtually did the same as you. Loved your video stay safe . X
Not able to do any serious planting in SE Wisconsin yet - weather is still too uncertain until Memorial Day, our traditional day here for planting. I am with you - I try to spend at least 30 minutes a day outside even in the coldest part of Wisconsin winter, especially on one of the rare days when the sun is out! Now that it's in the 40s and a few teaser days of mid-60's to low-70's, I'll be outside 3-4 hours a day cleaning up the garden beds and daily sweeping my front and side stoops and patio out back. I feed the wild squirrels in the area and they come, evidently, from far and wide now to feast on filberts (hazelnuts) in shell and the occasional peanut in shell. They leave a mess, of course, so I know I will always get at least 30 minutes if not more in just sweeping up the prior day's nut shell accumulation! I have a rug similar to yours. So it wouldn't blow away in the wind I put a black cut-out patterned rubber mat over it and it held it down very well. I left it out over the winter and tried washing it in January when we had a classic "January thaw." Unfortunately, it did not get very clean although I have washed it several times. Very disappointing.
My patio and deck are summer ready! I’ve spent the past several weeks planting pots and decorating my deck, it’s so beautiful and gave me something to do during this crazy time. Love all that you did sweetie!
I live in southern Alabama. Since he have to stay home, we’ve gotten most of our outdoor decor underway. I’d love to do a few flower beds but since we aren’t going out to shop, that will have to wait. Other than yesterday, we’ve had beautiful warm days. Love what you have done at your house.
Loved your front entry refresh, looks so nice. Very creative how you put a welcome sign on your front door with your cricket machine. Watching you gives me so many great ideas for my home. Thank you for doing what you do.👏🌸💕
Yes girl! Here in central Texas. Pollen is terrible! I have totally revamped my front flowerbed that runs the entire length of my house. Love your porch and deck area.
We get pollen too in Mass. but tomorrow, it may be snow! We just get used to wiping or washing things down. Both areas look great. Flowers and plants make things beautiful. Love the decal on the door!
Wow, Amy! What a fantastic tour of your porch refresh! The transformation was amazing, and I also loved your advice to get outside as much as possible right now. I know that working out in the garden...even just for an hour or so...has been such a soothing balm to my spirits right now. Whatever we can do to stay connected with nature and and filled with hope for the future is so, so important. Thank you so much for being a bright light today! xo
We decorated our front porch and back deck on Monday! Did ferns on our front too and flowers and lavender in the back as well. I love lavender because of the smell and my mom said it helps repel mosquitos. I live in Georgia too so I feel you about the pollen! It’s ruthless!
I haven't done my porches and deck yet. I live in Sweet Home Alabama, so I know all about pollen!!! Your porch looks great!! 💯 We're supposed to have a great weekend, no rain thank goodness, so gotta get out and get it done. TFS. Stay safe out there everyone. 😷😷😷
love the ideas of the ferns and the layered mats. moving into a new construction and the front porch is the same size as yours except it's only only one small step up so space is very limited.
We get pollen really bad like that in Oregon too. Currently my black car looks yellow because of the layer of pollen on it. It's awful lol! Loved this video, and would love love love to see a summer one! I like seeing how people decorate their outdoor spaces.
Front door is gorgeous, I love the rug and doormat layering. The north gets pollen too. I grew up in Massachusetts and the pine trees leave alot of the yellow pollen everywhere. I live in Ohio now and there's not as much here.
Living in the Deep South is different...pollen is really heavy. Even the trees have pollen on the trunks. I have family in Georgia about 4 hours from us. We’re in Alabama, and I am lov’en being here. My daughter has been fixing up the front gardens with plants and it looks fantastic .
Very nice. My fav part is the front porch. I also would like to see how the deck looks when you add the pillow cushions. I live in Michigan so It's been snowing here, so I haven't added greenery.
Beautiful, I like what you did with your front porch. I live in AZ, and we already hit the 100 degree weather. (Too early) it just skipped over spring. So I was like what!!, I started with my front porch not finish yet, then I’ll move to the back yard.
Your efficiency skills are amazing!!! Like cut to the chase. You also did a LOT with a little and it looked great and was very organic and inviting. Love the table plants😎
Nice look..I’m in Georgia too and yes pollen is everywhere! Yes, I will be refreshing my porch, working on my sunroom and new deck area..jus recently started ordering more home decor within the last week.
We can't plant yet in NY it is still too cold at night plus we can't with the quarantine but this made me excited to start! I love to plant fresh herbs and I think this year I am looking forward to it even more. Your home is beautiful & I can see why you spend so much time outside! Yes to the summer decor video too!
in my experience lavender is actually very hardy. you don't need to do much to it for it to grow crazy! I have it in my front yard and it gets slightly less than a gallon of water per week..and it doesn't get nearly as humid here in CA compared to where you are, especially in the summer months. I absolutely love the welcome sign on your front door, I'm going to use my Cricut and do the same thing!! such a cute, personal touch
Hey Amy, everything looks amazing! I love the front & back. So refreshing! Well, I live in Louisiana, so it's been getting in the high 80's. Everything is done in my yard. Mulched, planted, cleaned & power washed! The weather is beautiful and my flowers have already doubled in size. So happy you are able to enjoy the outdoors now💮🌸🌺💗! Stay safe and really, really enjoyed the vlog!
Hey Amy looks very nice and easy up keep. I actually really like the table with the fresh herbs. I started pulling up weeds and cleaning up our front garden area few weeks ago. Actually had the kids outside helping to get fresh air. Be well💕
Hi Amy love your videos. Keep Lavender in the ground, where there is lots of sun. Only buy Lavender Angustifolia. Check in the store for good combination soil and add some nutrients during the summer months. During hot season water them daily but don't drown them. I am not sure what type of weather you have the rest of the year. If its cold no watering in autumn or winter is needed. They tolerate dry periods in summer. Always cut them down in early autumn to about 5-6 inches from the ground. Lavender needs good drainage and make sure not to allow wood to grow. I love these plants and they are very easy. They don't make it inside and don't like to stay in pots. Try my method and you will not only like them in summer but will use the stems and flowers in winter for beautiful arrangements and closet satchets. Thank you for your very useful ideas. I also have a porch and love it all year round.. I like your blower, what brand is it? I have already subscribed. Regards from an American watching from Germany 😊
On my lunch hour again enjoying another one of your videos! Everything looks so clean & fresh! I have been holding off decorating my porch b/c I have been feeling blah with all that is going on in the world but your videos mean more than you know... truly inspiring! Thank you for all that you do to make us feel like we matter especially at a time like this! I live in North Carolina & I am definitely familiar with the pollen!! LOL! Thanks again Amy! Stay safe!❤🌱🌳🌿
I live in Central Texas. The pollen is not too bad here so I have been doing a lot outside! I pressure washed the house, spruced up the yard. Bought ferns. I'm on my way to buy a new bistro set for the backyard...pretty much going crazy right now :-). I think what you've done in your yard and front door is absolutely beautiful!
New subscriber! Great video! I love farmhouse/country decor. I'm starting a bit with outdoor stuff but here in Northeastern Ontario Canada it's still hovering at 0 degrees Celsius overnight and we definitely have no green leaves on our trees yet. No lawn mowing, not enough growth for that yet. But just general sweeping, putting out some outdoor items that get stored over the winter, putting out some solar lights, and a few plants like Pansies because they're very cold weather hardy. My porch/deck is very important to me and I use it a great deal during the warm months. I love ferns as well. I brought my Queen Ann ferns back out onto the porch from spending the winter in my basement. They add so much to a space. I've never had luck with Lavender indoors either and I have a green thumb. My house has 103 houseplants lol but not many flowering ones. Everything you did looks super nice. Looks all nice and green where you are. It gets bad with the pollen here also when the trees start to open up their leaves. Take care.
Hi Amy, I’m new to your channel, I loved the front door refresh and I appreciate your kind/calm personality. My favorite thing you did was the decal on the door, amazing what small details will make a difference.
Hey friends! Hope you enjoy today’s outdoor refresh and you get some easy ideas for your front porch! Have a great week! ❤️
Very fresh n pretty
Garden Answer made a video on lavender! They love direct sun, and they also like to be in a dry location.🙌🏼
Lavender loves a sunny spot & not too much water
great work... it's amazing how flowers and plants transform the place! just an idea, for your front door and back porch furniture you can use' teak oil' for furniture, it doesn't only make it shine, but it would help the pollen from not sticking since its slippery, lastly, you could use 'cobra shine/one-step' to give your front porch steps a shiny look... as opposed to varnishing with paint!

That is so cute!!! I agree, getting outside is so so important for happiness!

Patio and pool are this week!! Love this video!!!!
Sweep before dusting and cleaning doors and windows... love the front porch redo.
We have a decal on our door too. I put “every family has a story...welcome to ours”
Jenn Sly that’s so cute !💜
I love decals with cute sayings! I like your saying.
That’s so stinkin’ adorable! Where did you get it?
Can these decals be changed easily?
Jenn Sly oh my goodness I love that! I love that little decal on her front door anyway but I love that saying!
yes down here we get several types of pollen, flowers, then flowering trees then pine trees and oak i wait till last of may to wash and hose down...i did my back last week and new flowers in front as well. made my heart lift.
Loved seeing your outdoor space come together!

Lavender doesn't appreciate too much water. Just make sure it doesn't end up sitting in water (good drainage). Love your outdoor spaces!!
You are doing such a great job. It sure makes life feel a little more normal. Thanks for sharing.

Just started out yard a few weeks ago. I have been enjoying slowly working on it
We’ve had lavender in our front yard for 2 years now. It’s the ONLY plant I haven’t killed. I believe they love full sun and we live in Texas. They are beautiful. Bees love them! They also like well drained soil.

The green with the black and whites of your front door is just 👌🏻👌🏻😍😍
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Hi love both porches. Yes it helps to get out in your yard during this virus. Stay safe!
Yes for sure! Thank you!!
You did a wonderful job cleaning up. I have a tip. Use newspaper or an old table cloth under your planting project on the table. That what I do.

I love how you styled your front porch it really nice as will as you patio. Really great
Beautiful and simple front entrance.
Love those ferns, all flowers really
Up north has pollen too, LOTS!! We just don't get it until May and June. Now that I live in SC, I'm glad we get it early and over with.
Oh wonderful..I was transferred to Savannah a few years ago only for a few months and loved it. I'm from Louisiana.
loved the simplicity. Everything looked refreshing and welcoming
Our door says “Hey Y’all”♥️
We get pollen really bad like that in Oregon too. Currently my black car looks yellow because of the layer of pollen on it. It's awful lol! Loved this video, and would love love love to see a summer one! I like seeing how people decorate their outdoor spaces.
Thank you!!! And pollen is the worst 😂
@@AmyFritz Tell me about it lol especially this year it's super awkward to have seasonal allergies!
It was very inspirational for me to get busy with my front porch and my closed in deck. I can't wait!
Thank you!! ❤️❤️
Love your porch, and the table fits at list 8 people, lovely video and your son trying to help so cute . Take care keep safe.

Your voice is so calming! Thanks for sharing. Everything looks beautiful & springy 🌷🌿🌸🌺☘️
Aw thank you!
I love all the plants dear, simple and classy and like you said... you'll probably put more plants out as the time warms up. Lovely
Thank you!

Thank you so much!
Your front porch look beautiful!!!! I love your back deck. It gives me inspiration!!!! I love your videos! It is like having a friend to be with.
Thank you!! ❤️
Love the front and back porch. Looks great 👍🏼
Loved this video. You motivated me to refresh my front porch area as well as clean up and organize my wood shed.
Thank you!!
Beautiful! The wreath is amazing and it's one of the most beautiful I have ever seen!
Azrych Calukovic I love the magnolia wreath as well. Has she mentioned where she found I?
My tip for keeping lavender alive is purchase the fake ones😄
Ailene Phillips ha that’s the best way I’ve ever heard LOL
On my lunch hour again enjoying another one of your videos! Everything looks so clean & fresh! I have been holding off decorating my porch b/c I have been feeling blah with all that is going on in the world but your videos mean more than you know... truly inspiring! Thank you for all that you do to make us feel like we matter especially at a time like this! I live in North Carolina & I am definitely familiar with the pollen!! LOL! Thanks again Amy! Stay safe!❤🌱🌳🌿

Hi Amy
I'm in Las Vegas and yes I have been planting lots. It's just keeps my mind busy!!
Your porch looks great!

You’ve inspired me to spruce up my front garden, thank you x
Thank you!❤️
Oh and I’m going to take some of my ferns and plant them in the front now too
I absolutely love how everything turned out!!! So beautiful and simple!!
I enjoyed this video so much. Something different. Love the way your porch turned out and the decal looks perfect!
Take care.
Very nice ! - amazing what some elbow grease and some plants will do. Good job!
Hi Amy, I’m new to your channel, I loved the front door refresh and I appreciate your kind/calm personality. My favorite thing you did was the decal on the door, amazing what small details will make a difference.
Hey Neighbor! I'm in Augusta and was just thinking of a way to decorate my small porch!
